"Don’t worry, I’ve taken note of this. As for Charles Northwood, I’ll leave him to you to deal with."
Charles Northwood!
He was the main reason for this failure.
If it weren’t for him, none of this would’ve been so humiliating.
He wouldn’t have ended up in the Hospital either.
"Call the old house, and call Maxwell Peary. Their own old man is in the Hospital and they don’t even bother to co take a look. Are they waiting for the Journalist outside to say they’re unfilial?"
The old man was full of pent‑up anger now, his brows tightly knitted.
Hearing the old man’s words, the butler imdiately nodded, took out his phone, and walked out of the ward.
When Samuel Peary received the call, he was at the old house, looking utterly depressed.
"I’m not going."
He refused outright. The way the old man had acted before, he hadn’t cared about their father‑son relationship at all, and now he wanted to use that to pressure him.
He’d been cowardly his whole life and he wasn’t planning to keep being cowardly.
"Just co over. The old master just talks a bit too tough. Deep down he ans well."
The butler tried his best to persuade him, talking to Samuel Peary for dozens of minutes before finally convincing him.
After he hung up, he rested for a bit, then dialed Maxwell Peary’s number again.
Maxwell Peary was in the Office Room, working nonstop when his phone rang.
He reached out and pressed the answer button.
"Young Master. I am—"
"Beep—beep—beep—"
Well, hung up.
Butler: ...
Young Master Peary’s temper really was sothing else. He didn’t even give him the chance to speak, let alone persuade him to co over.
The butler thought for a mont and called again.
"Sorry, the number you dialed has been turned off..."
Ah, damn!
The butler didn’t believe for a second that Maxwell Peary would turn his phone off. For soone like him, his phone was basically on twenty‑four seven.
So it must’ve been set that way on purpose.
Thinking of this, the butler was out of options and could only leave it at that.
...
The half‑mountain Villa.
Nia Mitchell sat on the sofa. It was as if none of it had ever happened, everything slowly calming down.
She was no longer as scared as she had been at the start and raised her hand to glance at her wrist.
She’d already talked to EdbertNia Mitchell. She was going to work tomorrow.
"Young madam, if you’re tired, why don’t you go upstairs and rest for a bit?"
Nia Mitchell froze for a mont, then nodded, but still sat there without moving.
That night, Maxwell Peary ca back right on ti. Nia Mitchell’s face lit up with a smile and she imdiately ran over to him.
"Uncle, you’re finally back."
"Mm."
Maxwell’s voice was a little hoarse. He raised his hand to rub his temples and gave a brief response.
Seeing Maxwell’s attitude, Nia didn’t get upset. After all, he’d always been this quiet and taciturn.
"Uncle, I’ve already settled things with Star dia. I’m going in to work tomorrow morning."
Nia was really excited about this. She’d been away from Star dia for so long.
She missed it so much, and she didn’t even know if those old colleagues of hers were still there.
"What’s there to be so happy about with this?"
Maxwell looked clearly displeased. Going to work at Star dia, and she had to be this happy about it?
Nia choked, the corner of her mouth twitching.
Fine. She’d been too happy just now and had actually forgotten that the CEO was completely unwilling to let her go work at Star dia.
"Hey, Uncle, don’t be mad."
Nia imdiately went over and wrapped her arms around the CEO’s arm.
"It’s just that you won’t see during working hours. We barely run into each other at MC Group anyway."
Besides, working over there wasn’t tiring and she didn’t need to work overti.
Once she got off work, she could co straight ho. They still had plenty of ti to be together.
"I’ll drive you to work from now on."
He wanted to use this thod to tell everyone that this little Rabina Mitchell, Nia, already belonged to soone.
