The night deepened.
Lin Tang stretched lazily, said goodnight, and went back to his room to sleep.
Shen Qiushi had just taken his dicine and was feeling quite spirited. Seeing that Shen Youling also looked tired, he chuckled, "You should go to sleep, too."
"Okay." Shen Youling nodded and stood up to return to her room.
Shen Qiushi, however, was taken aback. "Hold on! Are you going into the wrong room? Didn't Lin Tang just go into the one next door?"
"This…" Shen Youling hesitated, unsure how to explain.
Shen Qiushi's face grew long. He hurried over to chide her, "This is absurd! As husband and wife, how can you sleep in separate rooms?"
As he spoke, he forcefully pushed Shen Youling into the bedroom where Lin Tang was. He even warned her, "If you dare mistreat Lin Tang and make him sleep on the floor, I'll run away from ho!"
Shen Youling was speechless. With no other choice, she could only tiptoe silently to the side of the bed. Glimpsing Lin Tang sprawled out, she bit her lip and gently lay down beside him, leaving a ter of space between them.
The next mont, Lin Tang rolled over, snuggled up close, and wrapped his arms around her soft body. "Heh heh, you ca here on your own. I won't hold back then!"
"Get lost!" Shen Youling pushed him hard, but he didn't budge.
"I'm really getting angry now!"
Lin Tang remained stuck to her like glue.
"Fine, fine. I'm just a weak woman who can't resist your brute force…"
"See, there you go again! Honestly!" Annoyed, Lin Tang rolled back to his original position. He even turned his head away, sulking and refusing to look at her.
Shen Youling breathed a sigh of relief and reiterated that he was not to cross the line, or she would never forgive him.
Lin Tang was puzzled. They'd been intimate a few tis already. What was she still holding out for? Love isn't sothing you just talk about; it's sothing you do. How could she not understand that simple truth?
And so, they lay there motionlessly, trying to sleep. Lin Tang was at an age where his blood ran hot. Having tasted the forbidden fruit, he was eager for more. With such a tender beauty within arm's reach, how could he not be aroused? Sleep was impossible!
Ti slipped by silently. In the dead of night, Lin Tang could no longer hold back. He got up to use the restroom and then dashed straight to Lee Encai's room.
"Hey, what are you doing here again?" Lee Encai, a notorious night owl, broke out in a sweat.
"The night is long, and I have no desire to sleep. I ca to chat with you," Lin Tang said earnestly.
"Chat? Can't you think of a better excuse? Don't forget, Grandpa Shen has moved in too. If he finds out, the consequences will be unthinkable. You better leave now!"
"It's fine. We'll just keep our voices down. He won't notice!"
"You're unbelievable!"
Outside the room, Shen Youling stood silently, her fists clenched tight. As his wife, it's my fault for pushing him away. It's not unreasonable for him to do this… But why am I still so angry?!
In the end, she didn't storm in and make a scene. Instead, she silently returned to her room to sleep alone.
Lin Tang, a trained practitioner, naturally noticed everything but didn't intervene. He wanted to annoy her. Who was afraid of whom?
「The next day.」
When he saw the young couple coming out of the sa room, Shen Qiushi's heart filled with relief. "Now that's more like it!"
Completely unaware of what had happened the previous night, the trio maintained a tacit understanding and said nothing.
After breakfast, Shen Youling suddenly said, "We can't just be idle every day; we need proper occupations. I'm going to look for a job again. What about you, Lin Tang?"
"Hmm?" Lin Tang was taken aback.
A job? Working is out of the question. I never want to work a job in this lifeti. It doesn't matter that my savings are over a hundred million now. Even back when I was dirt poor, I never considered burning myself out for soone else's benefit. I'd rather spend that ti cultivating.
Seeing Lin Tang's lack of response, Shen Youling's expression turned to disappointnt. "Are you planning to be a freeloader for the rest of your life?"
"What's wrong with that?"
"Grandpa, you be the judge."
"Well…" Shen Qiushi thought for a mont. He also felt it wasn't right for a grown man to loaf around the house. He tactfully expressed his support for Shen Youling.
Lin Tang rolled his eyes and replied perfunctorily, "Alright, alright. I'll go look for a job later."
Shen Youling suggested, "Since your dical skills are decent, you could consider that path. Why not try to raise so start-up capital and open a clinic?"
"A clinic, huh?" Lin Tang was genuinely intrigued.
Previously, he had expended a great deal of True Qi to treat the construction worker, Zhang Xinyu. After his energy recovered and he returned to his peak, he realized that in the cycle of depletion and recovery, his True Qi had been honed and refined, becoming even smoother. It had even improved slightly. This rate of improvent was actually faster than solitary cultivation.
I could treat patients to consu True Qi, then cultivate to recover it. That way, I'd be doing good deeds while also boosting my cultivation. It's killing two birds with one stone!
So, he had Lee Encai drive him to see Ge Shijian to inquire about the necessary steps and procedures.
"What? Master, you're coming out of seclusion to open a practice?" Ge Shijian was overjoyed. "Hah, isn't my place a ready-made clinic? Why look elsewhere? Master, please don't look down on it—just be our resident doctor here! I'm willing to offer you all the clinic's inco as a show of respect! I only ask that you give a few pointers in your free ti…"
Seeing his pitiful expression, Lin Tang couldn't bring himself to refuse. He casually asked about the daily inco, but after hearing the answer, he replied with disdain. "Just that little? You should keep it for your retirent. I'm not interested."
"Ah, then wouldn't that an I'm… getting a free ride… COUGH, COUGH. Master, you are too magnanimous!" Ge Shijian's eyes crinkled into a smile.
His was a traditional Chinese dicine clinic, so there was no rule about wearing white coats, but he had them on hand anyway. He even had nurse uniforms.
Feeling curious, Lin Tang put on a white coat and looked in the mirror. Like a dutiful wife, Lee Encai helped him straighten his collar. "I have to say, you really look the part. It's quite charming!"
"Really? Why don't you try one on and let see?" he said.
"Huh? I'm not a doctor or a nurse. It wouldn't be right to impersonate one."
"Who cares about rules? Besides, if you're interested in traditional Chinese dicine, I can teach you."
Under his constant prodding, Lee Encai bashfully changed into a nurse's uniform. Her figure was comparable to a model's, and her long legs were already eye-catching. When she ca out after changing, she instantly stunned Lin Tang.
"Wow! You're beautiful!" he exclaid sincerely.
"Really?" A flush of pleasure appeared on Lee Encai's cheeks. It was the first ti Lin Tang had complinted her.
Even Ge Shijian, despite his age, couldn't help but take a few extra glances. She looked good, sure, but wasn't this a bit unorthodox? If Lin Tang were his apprentice, he, as an old-tir, would never allow such shenanigans. But he viewed Lin Tang as his master. If his master wanted to do things this way, what could a re disciple say?
When Lee Encai, looking rather demure, stood by the entrance of the clinic, every single person who passed by, man or woman, couldn't help but stare.
"What a beautiful lady!"
"Wow, is this a uniform fantasy co to life?"
"COUGH, COUGH, COUGH. I suddenly don't feel so well. I think I need to see a doctor."
The owners of the other nearby shops, old acquaintances of Ge Shijian, crowded around.
"Doctor Ge, which celebrity did you hire to promote your clinic?"
"Old Ge, since when did you stop playing by the rules? Resorting to unorthodox tactics!"
Ge Shijian stamred, "I…" He had no choice but to pin it all on Lin Tang. He then solemnly introduced him as his master, whose dical skills were many tis greater than his own.
"Is that true?"
"He's so young. Is he reliable?" so people wondered skeptically.
But many others, especially the younger ones, didn't care. They quickly ford a line and rushed into the clinic. Soon, the place was bustling with people and extraordinarily lively.
"Huh?" Lee Encai was caught off guard. She had never imagined that the combination of her and a nurse's uniform could elevate her charm to such a degree. Normally when she went out, she turned a lot of heads, but it was never like this.
Possessing real skill, Lin Tang was unfazed. He sat down at the consultation desk with an air of authority.
"You're not sick. You can leave. Next!"
"Your face is flushed and your eyes are bloodshot. That's excessive liver fire. I'll prescribe you so herbs."
"Miss, don't be nervous. It appears you have a cold uterus, which will require so moxibustion."
"Young man, you have weak kidneys. You shouldn't indulge in 'manual labor' so frequently."
"Hmm, old sir, I see a darkness between your eyebrows and an aura of misfortune. Have you recently visited any unclean places outdoors?"
At first, everything went smoothly. Lin Tang detailed the patients' symptoms and accurately described their discomfort. He made no mistakes and easily won their trust. But when he encountered more complex or private conditions, doubts began to surface.
For instance, the man he diagnosed with weak kidneys adamantly denied it. "You have weak kidneys! Your whole family has weak kidneys!" he cursed, furious. He had only co in for a bit of fun and to get a closer look at Lee Encai's nurse outfit, but Lin Tang's words had exposed him. The others in line erupted in laughter, and even Lee Encai shot him a strange look. How could he stand it?
", weak kidneys?" Lin Tang wasn't annoyed. He just quipped, "Just compare my complexion to his. The difference is obvious."
There were no Martial Artists or characters like Hua Fengchen here, so he didn't need to feign weakness or pretend to be a pitiful cripple. His gaze was sharp, his spirit vigorous, his lips red and teeth white, and his skin was smooth without a single blemish or blackhead. His features were naturally handso, with no bags under his eyes or wrinkles. He was the very picture of health.
In contrast, the man with the kidney deficiency was gaunt, with a sallow complexion, puffy skin, and a vacant gaze. He looked drained.
There's no harm if there's no comparison.
The man was left speechless. His mood for admiring the beautiful nurse ruined, he could only glare resentfully at Lin Tang while waiting for his dicine.
When Lin Tang ntioned a darkened brow and visiting unclean places, the crowd looked shocked.
Is this a dical diagnosis… or fortune-telling?
The man with the kidney deficiency seized the opportunity, jumping up first to shout, "Ha, I finally caught you! You're a charlatan, a quack, trying to swindle an old man's money! Just watch smash your signboard!"
