The mont Yan Renjie appeared, he instantly beca the center of attention. His presence was so commanding that it even overshadowed Long Tianji. Holding a long sword, he floated with an immortal's grace, looking impossibly stylish and cool. As people stared, they felt as if his entire person was a sword. The sharpness of his aura was so intense it made their eyes ache and water involuntarily. Those with weaker minds imdiately dropped to their knees with a thud.
Yan Renjie was filled with triumphant pride, utterly delighted. After several days of intense practice, he had fully adapted to the surge of Divine Power, and his confidence had reached an unprecedented peak.
In his eyes, Mu Fan was just a weakling. If it weren't for the ancient god tampering with him, I could have killed Mu Fan with a single strike. That disgusting Yan Luoyang, full of Corpse-eating Worms, is nothing but flaws, easily defeated.
This was why he had flatly refused when they suggested he launch a sneak attack while Lin Tang wasn't paying attention.
I'm this strong now, so why would I need to skulk around?! I have to defeat Lin Tang in a direct, head-on battle. Only then can I wash away the humiliation of being wounded by him in front of so many people last ti!
At this mont, he floated forward, surveying the entire hall with disdain. No one dared to et his gaze.
He looked at Xiao Xuanye.
Weak!
He looked toward Guo Jufeng.
Weak!
He looked toward Yan Qinghe and the experts around him.
Weak! Weak! Weak! They're all too weak!
Finally, just as he was about to lock onto Long Tianji…
"Eh?!"
Yan Renjie's proud expression faltered for a mont. He glanced at Lin Tang, then at Lee Encai, who was impersonating him.
Weren't Lin Tang and Long Tianji supposed to be the sa person? So they're not? Well, it doesn't matter. I'll just kill them both.
Yan Renjie shrugged.
CLANG!
The sword was unsheathed, erupting in a blinding white light. Every streak of light was a sword shadow, and together they instantly filled the entire sky. All the glass in the building shattered, and the reinforced concrete began to crumble into sand. The vast concert hall teetered on the verge of collapse, groaning under the strain with unbearable creaks and cracks.
"My God!"
"Is that even a human?"
"A deity has descended!"
"Spare us!"
Everyone present turned pale. No matter how powerful or wealthy the tycoons were, they all ducked and huddled for cover, their survival instincts causing them to abandon all dignity. Screams and wails filled the air as they pleaded for rcy.
"This madman!" Guo Jufeng and Xiao Xuanye trembled in fear. They had just been injured by Lin Tang, but even in their pri, they would have been no match for him.
"Hahaha, die! Die!" Yan Renjie laughed maniacally.
The more power he exerted, the louder and more chaotic the ancient god's whispers beca in his ears, twisting his blood vessels and fraying his nerves. Strange, grotesque microorganisms squird rapidly beneath his skin, threatening to burst out.
WHOOSH!
Tens of thousands of sword shadows wreaked havoc before converging into a single, massive blade. Like a strike that could cleave heaven and earth, it slashed directly down at Lin Tang's head.
An aura similar to Mu Jiuzhou's? Lin Tang's eyelids drooped. He was surprised but not panicked. Instead, a look of disdain crossed his face. Disgusting...
Lee Encai, being an ordinary person, couldn't handle the pressure. He huddled together with Shen Youling, trembling. "Oh my god, this is terrifying! So scary!" His voice was nasal and tinged with sobs, making it sound like a woman's.
Shen Youling looked at him, confused. Weren't you always fearless? How did you beco even more cowardly than ? Crying like a woman... how pathetic.
Just as Lin Tang was about to be split in two, Ning Yuexi's pupils constricted, and she was ready to cheer, "Good riddance!"
BOOM!
The forty-ter-long sword shadow stopped abruptly, caught by a massive, furry, glowing hand.
The next mont, a furious ape roared as a colossal amount of energy erupted from Lin Tang's body, soaring into the sky and weaving itself into the phantom of an ape—as dazzling as the Great Sage Equalling Heaven himself wreaking havoc in the celestial palace.
"HOLY SHIT!" Zhao Xinghe swore, his expression a mixture of shock, agitation, complexity, and fervor.
How long has it been? How has Long Tianji cultivated the Heart Monkey Nine Calming Techniques to this level?! He is restoring the divine might of the Zhao clan in his na!
But what made Zhao Xinghe even more incredulous was the scene that followed. As the furious ape roared, its other hand reached into the void.
ROAR—
As a long golden staff materialized, a lifelike dragon shadow let out a long cry, coiling around and fusing with the weapon. A pillar of light burst forth, blasting a huge hole through the concert hall's roof and continuing its ascent toward the clouds high above. It was clearly visible to everyone within a several-kiloter radius.
"What is that...?"
The deafening explosion was accompanied by visible shockwaves that rippled outward. Rows of streetlights shattered, sparking flashes of electricity. Cars on several nearby roads flipped over, their drivers screaming and holding their heads as traffic ground to a halt. The entire roof of the massive concert hall was torn away like a kite with a cut string, flying into a nearby artificial lake and kicking up a spray of water like a sudden downpour.
"What kind of move is this? It's not recorded in the Heart Monkey Nine Calming Techniques!" Zhao Xinghe muttered to himself, stupefied.
Looking back at Lin Tang and Yan Renjie, he saw them both in tattered, blood-soaked clothes, facing each other in a standoff. After a stalemate that lasted for a single breath, the colossal sword shadow and the ape's staff shattered simultaneously.
WHOOSH! WHOOSH!
The two crossed a hundred ters in an instant, closing the distance to continue their battle. One held a sword, while the other was empty-handed. This forced Lin Tang to dodge back and forth, putting him at a disadvantage. Yan Renjie, however, grew more courageous as he fought, unleashing an endless stream of exquisite sword techniques. He continued to laugh wildly, trash-talking as he fought.
"Hahaha, look at you now!"
Last ti, Lin Tang beat because he had a pseudo-divine sword. This ti, it's my turn to rely on a *true* divine sword. Fate really does turn the tables! "Despair, tremble, weep, Lin Tang…"
"Shut up!" Lin Tang roared, suddenly increasing his power output.
The closer he got, the more affected he beca. In a daze, he could faintly hear the annoying whispers and "see" the giant mushroom with the ancient Formation sword above it.
So this thing is your power-up? How can a re external aid compare to the bitter training I endured day and night?
Lin Tang's movents beca as swift as a startled swan, and his evasions grew more effortless. Suddenly, he spotted a slight flaw in Yan Renjie's defense and imdiately changed his attack. Like soone dancing on a knife's edge, he dodged the sword by a hair's breadth and grabbed Yan Renjie's wrist, freezing him in place like a character in a paused movie.
"You…" Yan Renjie's pupils shrank. A mont later, he was engulfed by a furious storm of punches.
"I, Lin Tang, have gotten this far through my own efforts!" Lin Tang shouted. "You're just a cheater! Without that sword, what are you?"
"Aaaah—" Yan Renjie sprayed blood wildly as the sword was torn from his grasp. His aura, once powerful enough to pierce the heavens, plumted, sending him tumbling from the clouds back to the mortal world. He beca weak, as feeble as an insect. Severely injured, he was sent flying backward in utter defeat, unwilling and unable to accept the outco.
"Die!" Lin Tang first examined the sword in his hand.
He was surprised to find it was just an ordinary weapon. Why did it unleash such astonishing power in Yan Renjie's hands?
Though curious, he didn't bother to ask. He launched a flying kick, intending to crush his opponent.
"I'll be back! Just you wait!" Yan Renjie roared with venomous rage. He reached behind his back and produced a tiny, miniature sword. Small as it was, it was still a sword. With its power, Yan Renjie's aura surged once more, allowing him to block Lin Tang's kick and flee with incredible speed.
Interesting! Lin Tang looked like a child who had just found a new toy. Intrigued, he gave chase.
The two vanished from the concert hall, one pursuing the other, leaving behind a total ss.
"Cough, cough, cough—" Yan Qinghe, protected by several experts, erged from the billowing dust. Though covered in gri, he was unhurt. He clutched his chest, his heart pounding fiercely. "Lawless. Utterly lawless! Such unstable elents have no place in this era!" He squinted, his mind made up. It seed the once-shelved "super soldier" research project would have to be restarted.
The others, their faces ashen, cautiously poked their heads out. Many had been so scared they had wet themselves, and the stench of urine perated the air. They scrambled to get outside, having lost all interest in participating in the concubine selection.
"Whew—" Lee Encai swallowed hard, relieved that he hadn't lost control of his bladder and had maintained a basic level of decorum.
"Youling, did you wet yourself?"
"Of course not!" Shen Youling scrutinized Lee Encai, making him increasingly uncomfortable. "Lin Tang, I always feel like sothing is off about you. What exactly are you…?"
She reached out to pinch Lee Encai's cheek, but he dodged back guiltily. Suddenly, his body stiffened. He found it hard to breathe, and his scalp tingled.
This feeling… This is bad! It must be Yan Luoyang! He's nearby, and he's getting closer!
This ti, he was truly about to wet himself. "Youling, I just rembered I have sothing urgent to do," he said hastily. "I'm leaving first. Don't follow ."
He didn't want to drag Shen Youling into this. He turned and ran off alone.
"Eh?" Shen Youling was baffled.
Then, she heard soone groan, "It hurts… help…"
Instinctively, she went over and saw Zheng Shiyin, Zheng Hongsheng's granddaughter. A broken chair had snapped and trapped her leg, and a ter-long slab of rubble lay on top of it. Shen Youling pushed the rubble aside and helped her up. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine, thank you…" Zheng Shiyin sobbed. She looked up and saw it was Shen Youling, and she looked surprised. The next mont, a rigid, chanical smile appeared on her face, and her gaze beca fixed and empty.
"What's wrong with you?" Shen Youling asked, astonished.
Now controlled by the Corpse-eating Worm inside her, Zheng Shiyin smiled. "I need to go to the restroom. Can you help there?"
"Uh, of course I can." Shen Youling had been about to look for Dong Mingfeng and her family, but she saw they were all safe, so she nodded.
Wei Zichu saw her supporting a strange girl and, feeling uneasy, was about to follow. But Ning Yuexi grabbed her by the neck. "So you really are having an affair with Long Tianji," she said, her hatred for him extending to Wei Zichu. "In that case, I can't let you go."
"Ouch! What are you doing… Whoa, your eyes are terrifying! Don't kill !" Wei Zichu shivered. Her martial arts were far inferior to Ning Yuexi's. She could only watch helplessly as she was choked to the point of suffocation, on the verge of taking her last breath.
