Lin Tang had intended to enter seclusion again, but considering his wife had just been rescued, he felt he should at least offer so comfort. Who would have thought that the mont he arrived ho, he would be t with a flurry of biting accusations?
"Why are you all here?" Lin Tang's face darkened. "Shen Youling, I clearly told you they were not welco to move in!"
"Hey! What's with that tone?" Dong Mingfeng and Shen Xin stood with their hands on their hips, eager to argue. "As Youling's parents, isn't it only natural that we move in?"
"Enough!" Shen Youling was incredibly irritated. "I barely managed to escape, and you can't give a mont's peace?"
First, she glared at her parents. "If you had shown Lin Tang even a little courtesy, would you have ended up bankrupt and in debt? You're in such a miserable state, yet you still haven't learned your lesson?"
Then she pointed at Lin Tang. "They're my parents! They insisted on moving in, so what was I supposed to do? Attack them with a knife? As my husband, can't you show a little understanding for the position I'm in?"
With that, she stord into her room. She stopped short when she saw the chaos inside. So of the appliances were gone, as if the house had been robbed. "What happened here?"
"What else could have happened?" Dong Mingfeng said. "Your grandfather is lying in the ICU, and the dical bills are astronomical. We had to sell so things. And after your grandfather passes, the funeral and burial plot will cost money, too!"
"What?!" Shen Youling suddenly rembered that her grandfather had been severely injured by an Underworld Envoy, his life hanging by a thread.
"Lin Tang, co to the hospital with ! You have to save Grandfather!" she pleaded, hurriedly pulling on his arm.
Lin Tang had been about to lose his temper, but hearing that the old man was critically ill, he suppressed his anger. Saving a life was more important; everything else could wait.
Together, they arrived at the hospital where Shen Jiayue was playing on her phone.
"Oh, Youling, you're all right? It must have been Boss Xiao who saved you, right? I saw the news! They said Boss Xiao beca Central Earth's first super-soldier. He can even fly! He's so cool!"

Although Xiao Xuanye had said he wouldn't help the Shen Family, at that mont, they still felt imnsely proud and excited. They could secretly leverage his na for their own benefit; outsiders wouldn't know Boss Xiao's true attitude toward them anyway.
Xiao Zhanchong is crippled. A promotion? As if. Lin Tang thought, shaking his head with a smile.
Dong Mingfeng caught his smile and grew even more annoyed. "Lin Tang, you're not even scared? Now that Boss Xiao is a super-soldier, he isn't afraid of your despicable poison tricks. He could drop from the sky at any mont and slap you to death!"
"How can you still be gossiping at a ti like this? Grandfather's life is on the line, and you have the nerve to play on your phone, sister?" Shen Youling felt like she was about to faint from frustration.
Shen Jiayue replied dismissively, "I'm not a doctor. There's nothing I can do. Is it so wrong to play on my phone?"
Speechless, Shen Youling could only turn to Lin Tang. "Just go in and take a look..."
Before she could finish, the door opened. The doctor shook his head. "I regret to inform you that the patient has passed away. Please accept my condolences."
"What?" Dong Mingfeng and the others were stunned.
"Grandfather!!" The world spun around Shen Youling, and she nearly fainted. She stumbled into the room to see Shen Qiushi's head covered by a white sheet. The sadness was overwhelming, and huge teardrops stread down her face.
"Excellent! He's finally dead!" At that mont, several more people rushed in. The leader, a man in gold-rimd glasses who carried himself like a business elite, imdiately urged, "Doctor, quickly remove the corneas from this dead man. My young master's helicopter will land in ten minutes at most. We need to proceed with the transplant imdiately, so don't delay."
"Okay." The doctor nodded.
Shen Youling, still in the throes of grief, was utterly bewildered by their words. "What cornea transplant?" she asked, her confusion quickly turning to fury. "Who agreed to a transplant? Get away from him! All of you!"
"Huh? What do you an by that? Don't tell you're planning to go back on your word?" The man with glasses frowned, pointing at Shen Xin. "It's in black and white, signed and sealed. If you dare to break our agreent, you can't afford the consequences!"
Shen Xin, who had been gearing up to wail in mourning, looked utterly embarrassed. "Well, Youling, don't stop them. We... we did agree to the donation..."
"Donation? Didn't we agree that as soon as the transplant is successful, we'd transfer the paynt? Don't worry, we're not short on cash," the man with glasses added.
Shen Youling trembled with rage. She never imagined that Shen Xin would actually sell his own father's eyes.
Dong Mingfeng didn't see the problem. "What's the big deal? He's dead anyway, and we happen to be short on cash. Stop making a scene and get out of the way!"
"You...!" Shen Youling was on the verge of losing her mind.
"Wait a minute!" Lin Tang spoke up. "The agreent you signed was for the transplant to occur *after* he died. Grandpa Shen isn't dead yet, so what's the rush?"
"Bullshit! Are you blind? Can't you see the flatline on the monitor? His heart has completely stopped! If that's not dead, what is?" The man with glasses glanced at his watch, growing more impatient. "Cut the crap and get the corneas!"
The doctor chid in, "It's true. He's lost all vital signs. We wouldn't make such a basic error."
"If I say he's not dead, he's not dead!" Lin Tang walked to the bedside and yanked the white sheet away.
Seeing Shen Qiushi's pained expression in death was too much for Shen Youling. She threw herself into Lin Tang's arms and bit him hard. "This is all your fault! It's all your fault! If you had just stayed by my side, you could have stopped them from hurting Grandpa when they ca to take !"
In truth, she probably wasn't really blaming Lin Tang; it was just a way to vent her overwhelming emotions.
"Are you insane?" Lin Tang had no patience for it and pushed her away. "On the one hand, you want to pretend to be a cripple, but on the other, you expect to stop people from hurting your grandfather. Are you schizophrenic?"
Shen Youling was speechless, unable to offer a rebuttal.
He's right. I was the one who asked him to pretend his martial arts were gone. In that situation, how could he possibly have protected anyone against such a powerful enemy? Besides... even Long Tianji struggled to kill those monsters from the Underworld. He was almost exiled to another dinsion and faced constant peril. Lin Tang stepping in would have just been suicide.
"Fine! You're right! It's all my fault! A thousand wrongs, ten thousand wrongs, they're all mine! I shouldn't even be alive!" Shen Youling said, giving in to despair. Her tone was full of resentnt.
At such a tragic mont, her own husband was still dissecting the logic of it all. Couldn't he just let her win an argunt for once? Couldn't he just humor her?!
"Everyone get out! I'm going to save him!" Lin Tang didn't want to waste any more words and began shooing people out.
The man with glasses started to protest, but Lin Tang slapped him so hard he saw stars.
"You dare hit ? Do you know who I am? You're finished! You're done for!" he flew into a rage. He was about to retaliate, but his face began to itch, and he scrambled out of the room in a panic.
Everyone knew about Lin Tang's notorious reputation for using poison. Muttering curses, the others followed him outside, not daring to confront Lin Tang head-on.
BANG!
Lin Tang slamd the door shut. Facing Shen Qiushi, he ford a hand seal, his True Qi shifting. "Spring Breeze and Rain, go!"
Outside, Shen Youling gradually cald down. A flicker of hope ignited within her. Can he really bring Grandpa back to life?
"Impossible!" The doctor shook his head adamantly. "I know Mr. Lin is a brilliant doctor who has perford miracles, but that was always when the patient still had vital signs. Your grandfather is well and truly dead. No matter how skilled a physician is, they absolutely cannot bring soone back from the dead!" What a joke. Does he think he's a god?
"If he can't do it, then what's his goal in there?"
"He must have heard we were getting money and is deliberately sabotaging us! As long as he damages the old man's eyes, we'll stay poor... How can he be so malicious? He just can't stand to see us get back on our feet, can he!"
"Lin Tang, you're not even human! You're a beast!" Dong Mingfeng and the others were beside themselves with fury.
The man with glasses, who had run off to splash cold water on his face, returned just as livid. "We had an agreent! How dare you play for a fool! You're all finished!"
Just then, the sound of rotors thundered from outside. The transport helicopter had arrived. As soon as it landed, a young boy with bandaged eyes and a middle-aged woman, flanked by bodyguards, hurried into the hospital.
"Where are the corneas we reserved? Hurry and put them in my precious grandson!"
"Yes, yes! I want my sight back now! I can't stand this darkness for another minute!"
When the man with glasses nervously stepped forward to report, he was t with a heavy blow.
SLAP!
"Useless! You can't even handle one simple thing!"
The middle-aged woman's expression was glacial as she ordered the bodyguards to force their way in.
CRASH!
The locked door to the ICU was smashed open. They stord in like a pack of wolves, ready to snatch the body, but then they all froze.
"What are you all standing around for? Go and—huh??"
"How is this possible?"
"Oh my god!"
"Dad?"
"Grandpa!!!"
Everyone—the man with glasses, the Shen family, the doctors, the nurses—was completely and utterly stunned.
Before them, Shen Qiushi, who had been dead just monts ago, was sitting up and stretching his limbs, his face glowing with health. He was full of vigor and brimming with life. Forget the damage to his internal organs; even the surgical incisions had vanished!
Such was the power of the Spring Breeze and Rain technique. He didn't even need a restorative tonic to make a complete and total recovery.
"Youling, I'm so relieved you've returned safely," he said, affectionately stroking her head.
"Grandpa! You're really alive! This is wonderful!" Shen Youling wept with joy.
"Incredible!"
"This... are we seeing a ghost?"
"Mr. Lin... no, Master Lin! How on earth did you do that? Please, enlighten us!"
"Lin Tang... I'm sorry. And thank you... truly, thank you."
The man with glasses and his entourage looked terrified. Shen Xin, Dong Mingfeng, and Shen Jiayue were equally panicked. The doctors and nurses looked at Lin Tang with expressions of pure worship. Shen Youling was filled with a mixture of sha and gratitude.
The blind boy, however, grew impatient and shouted angrily, "I said I want my sight back now! Get new corneas!"
The man with glasses tried to explain cautiously, but the boy kicked him several tis. "I don't care! I want them! Dead or alive, what's the difference? Just dig his eyes out!"
