He was just about to fly towards the mysterious hole to block the spatial passage, but before he could act, a furious voice erupted. From the deepest part of the Stygian River Projection, the Blood Ancestor's incarnation erged, smoke pouring from his body and his face a ghastly white. Staggering like a mad dog, he charged toward Lin Tang.
"Oh? You've been hiding in there this whole ti, waiting for a chance to ambush ?" Lin Tang laughed. "Too bad your plan backfired so spectacularly. Getting caught in a nuke wasn't part of the plan, was it?"
That was indeed what had happened. The Blood Ancestor had secretly contacted his acquaintances in the Underworld—or rather, his familiar gods—and expressed a desire to defect to their camp. They, however, didn't trust him, suspecting he was a spy. They demanded he prove his loyalty with a significant offering.
And so... tragedy struck.
"When you were at your peak, I wasn't afraid of you even on your own turf," Lin Tang said, shaking his head disdainfully after his laugh. "And you think you can kill in your current half-crippled state?" With a casual palm strike, a pillar of light erupted and beat the Blood Ancestor's incarnation to a pulp.
"What if I join in?"
"And !"
"Heh heh, this human is quite interesting. I'll join the fray as well."
Suddenly, several more divine incarnations appeared, surrounding Lin Tang. The combined divine might pressed down on him fiercely. In response, the golden dragon ford from his nation's fate coiled around him protectively, yet his movents still beca slightly sluggish.
The nearly dissipated incarnation of the Blood Ancestor took the opportunity to scramble away. He fud, "Don't waste words on him! Crush him now!"
Just as the deities were about to strike, a voice called out, "Wait a second!"
The Mysterious Lady's incarnation hurried over. At the sa ti, several other divine incarnations appeared, one of whom was the Lord of Mount Luofu. Clearly, they all belonged to the human realm's righteous faction.
The Mysterious Lady, having the greatest seniority, stood at the forefront. She calmly looked at the Blood Ancestor and the deities from the Underworld, her voice crisp and cool. "Fellow Daoists, the great war between the mortal realm and the Underworld has only just begun. Isn't it a bit too hasty for you to interfere personally?"
"Heh heh... we have waited for many years, our hunger has beco unbearable," one of the Underworld gods sneered. "Now that it's harvest ti, a little impatience is understandable, wouldn't you say?"
Before the Mysterious Lady could speak again, another hot-tempered god from the Underworld began to curse, "You wretched bitch, cut the crap! The enmity for blocking our path is irreconcilable! If you so-called righteous deities insist on crossing us for the sake of re ants, then you can all die!"
The Mysterious Lady's expression soured. The Lord of Mount Luofu shook his head. "Infinite Heavenly Venerable. If that's how it is, then let's settle this with a fight!"
As the two sides faced off and a massive battle lood, Lin Tang's eyes darted around before he suddenly burst out laughing. "Haha, you bunch of idiots, you've finally taken the bait! Blood Demon, well done! It's all thanks to you that we were able to hook these big fish so quickly. Mysterious Lady, quick! Activate the backup plan we prepared! Don't let them escape!"
The Mysterious Lady was stunned. Backup plan? What backup plan?
The Blood Ancestor was flabbergasted. When did I beco bait? And how am I suddenly indispensable?
The deities from the Underworld were montarily speechless. The hot-tempered one imdiately turned and slapped at the Blood Ancestor. "You, Blood Demon! I was wondering why you suddenly pledged allegiance to us. So you really were a spy!"
The Blood Ancestor moved to block the attack, trying to clarify, "No, I—"
"Brother Blood Demon, watch out!" Lin Tang shouted, leaping in front of the Blood Ancestor to take the hit for him. As he parried the blow and engaged the attacker, he didn't forget to shout to the Blood Ancestor, "You're badly injured, get out of here! Don't let this incarnation be destroyed; it would be a terrible waste! Don't worry, I've got this!"
The Blood Ancestor's cheek twitched. So I'm supposed to thank you?
"Blood Demon!!" the other Underworld deities glared. Their fury intensified when they saw the righteous deities, like the Mysterious Lady and the Lord of Mount Luofu, also moving to protect the Blood Ancestor. "Wipe them all out!"
"With the Stygian River Projection's amplification, the advantage is ours!"
They launched their attacks in unison. The righteous faction, unafraid, paired off against their opponents, and the battle began in earnest. The Blood Ancestor, however, was reduced to a re spectator on the sidelines.
"Damn you, Long Tianji! You motherfucker, you slandered !" he trembled with rage and charged at Lin Tang.
Without even turning his head, Lin Tang flicked out a counter-attack that collided with the charge.

The Blood Ancestor was sent flying, his form flickering dimly. He seed incredibly fragile. He had already been gravely wounded by the nuclear blast, and tis had changed; the Lin Tang of today was far stronger than when they had last fought one-on-one. This was primarily because the power of the nation's fate backing him had multiplied several tis over, allowing him to dominate the Blood Ancestor with ease.
In fact, he was the only pure human present, yet he was also the strongest one there. Even without support from righteous deities like the Mysterious Lady, he had no fear of being besieged by the Underworld gods. With them at his side, he was like a tiger that had grown wings.
After only a few exchanges, Lin Tang tore the hot-tempered deity's incarnation limb from limb. The god spiraled into self-doubt. I'm being beaten by a human, unable to even fight back? What kind of joke is this?!
He imdiately teleported, diving into the Stygian River Projection. Instantly, his injuries healed and his power was restored. Full of vigor, he charged at Lin Tang once more.
"Fuck!" the Blood Ancestor cursed, feeling deeply wronged.
Though he was also a Demon Cultivator, he had only just defected to the Underworld and had not yet been fully branded with its mark. This allowed him to hide within the Stygian River Projection, concealing his aura so Lin Tang wouldn't find him. He could do that much, at least.
