Hearing Lin Tang's words, Mu Jiuzhou was astounded. "Young man, what do you an?"

He had thought Lin Tang was rely Zhu Yingning's flunky. Had he been mistaken?

"Exactly what I said," Lin Tang stated calmly. "Tang Dingbo was blind enough to offend , so I went ahead and killed him. You're his father-in-law. If you want revenge, feel free to co at ."

Zhu Yingning panicked. She was just about to flip-flop again and disavow any connection to him when, unexpectedly, Mu Jiuzhou didn't burst into a rage.

Instead, his eyes lit up, and he said joyfully, "Oh my! Such a promising and capable young man! You've settled a score for this old man!"

"Huh?" Zhu Yingning was baffled.

Mu Jiuzhou went on to explain that his daughter had once threatened to kill herself, forcing him to swear an oath never to harm Tang Dingbo. He had complied. Bound by that oath, he could only glare hatefully at his son-in-law, no matter how much he despised him. Lin Tang killing Tang Dingbo had done him a great service.

"Young man, na your reward. I'll have my n deliver it to you," Mu Jiuzhou said with a hearty laugh.

"Oh?" Lin Tang was surprised.

"Alright. I need Centennial Elixirs, the more the better. Why don't you send a few dozen kilos? Thanks."

Mu Jiuzhou was speechless.

A few dozen kilos? Do you think it's cabbage? The audacity of this kid!

"Hehe, I'll do my best to gather so for you. I'll take my leave now," Mu Jiuzhou said with a smiling nod before departing.

Watching his retreating figure, Zhu Yingning muttered, "Master, your luck is incredible. Not only did you escape a dangerous situation, but you even managed to profit from it..."

Lin Tang glanced at her. "What do you an, 'escape a dangerous situation'? Do you think that old man was any match for ?"

Zhu Yingning's lip twitched. If not for the fact that he was already posturing as if to spank her again, she would have certainly berated him. How can he be so naive? It's like an ancient emperor whose personal martial skill might not even match a eunuch's, yet with a single edict, he could command an army of a million. Though Mu Jiuzhou is just a frail old man, he has a reclusive family backing him. Who knows how many experts are at his beck and call? You think you can do whatever you want without consequences just because you're a skilled fighter?

He's still just too young, Zhu Yingning thought. She strongly advised Lin Tang against digging up the grave again. If he insisted, he had to make sure the old man was long gone and wouldn't double back. Afterward, he had to restore the grave ticulously, leaving no trace. Otherwise, disaster would befall him—certain death!

"You're cursing to die? Get lost!" Lin Tang slapped her.

The strike left Zhu Yingning fuming. This bastard! Why won't he ever listen?

Mu Jiuzhou walked slowly along the mountain path, his face bearing a relaxed and cheerful smile. Anyone who saw him would have thought he was in high spirits.

However, after he had walked a kiloter, the warmth on his face was suddenly replaced by a chilling frost.

"What a brazen young brat, daring to boast in front of ! And that hussy is a disgrace to Feng'er's mory! Adulterous scum, they both deserve to die!"

He pulled out a specially-made phone and pressed a button. "Ghost Servant, co up the mountain at once. Kill—"

He was only halfway through his command when a hand shot out and crushed the phone to scrap.

Mu Jiuzhou was stunned. As he turned, his expression once again grew warm and kind. "Young man, did you need sothing else from ?"

Lin Tang also looked perfectly harmless as he asked, "I thought I heard you say sothing about killing?"

"Oh, you must have misheard. I was just asking my servant to co carry down the mountain. An old man like can hardly walk this short distance. How about you carry for a bit? In return, I'll even send you so extra Centennial Elixirs..."

"Old fool, do you take for an idiot?!"

As Mu Jiuzhou was still rambling, Lin Tang sneered and killed him with a single stroke of his sword.

In his last mont, Mu Jiuzhou's face was a mask of astonishnt, anger, and regret—regret for seeking quiet and dismissing his subordinates to climb the mountain alone.

"You actually killed him?!" Zhu Yingning cried, breathless from catching up. Seeing the scene, her face went green with terror.

"This old man was quite an actor," Lin Tang said casually. "It was clearly a stalling tactic. If he hadn't been in such a rush that he left without even planting the incense he'd brought to the grave, I might have actually been fooled."

"But... but... This isn't a safe place! We have to run, now! We can't let anyone find out you were the one who killed him!" She tugged at Lin Tang, trying to flee in another direction.

But Lin Tang simply scooped her up, headed back up the mountain, and started digging up the grave again. No matter how anxious she beca, she was powerless to resist.

A short while later, a dark shadow appeared beside Mu Jiuzhou's body. It knelt and pulled a small box from within its robes. Inside was a green, mycelium-like substance that writhed like tentacles. These hyphae flowed into Mu Jiuzhou's fatal wound, stitching it up as if with a needle and thread.

A bizarre scene unfolded. Mu Jiuzhou, who was clearly dead, suddenly opened his eyes. His mouth moved, as if whispering sothing.

"Yes, yes, as you command! I will kill them and then bring this avatar of yours back to the canyon," the dark figure said, bowing respectfully.

After another mont, the hyphae rapidly multiplied, completely enveloping the corpse. GURGLE, GURGLE. A sickening, slurping sound echoed as the body slowly shriveled, consud by the fungus. Once it was finished, the mass crawled back into the box.

The dark figure picked up the box and found a new place to hide it. Dealing with a re Lin Tang, he didn't think he would lose. This arrangent was rely a precaution for the unexpected. It would be far too ironic if he lost, died, and allowed the mycelium to fall into Lin Tang's hands.

By the ti he reached the top of the mountain, he saw that Lin Tang had already opened the coffin. Inside lay a petite skeleton, facing upward, adorned with burial jewelry at its neck, wrists, head, and feet.

"Why is it all just jewelry? Where are the elixirs?" Lin Tang was disappointed. Damn it, another wasted trip!

Annoyed, he turned his head and saw the dark figure. "Who are you?"

"You destroyed my master's body? Then die," the shadow said calmly and made its move. The attack was earth-shattering!

"A peak Master!!!" Zhu Yingning blurted out, her heart pounding with shock.

Tang Dingbo, a mid-stage Master, had been insufferably arrogant as he led the Tang Sect! Zheng Hongsheng, also a mid-stage Master, had been an unrivaled tyrant on Xiang Island. And now, a peak Master has suddenly appeared, and he's rely one of Mu Jiuzhou's servants? Just how deep does the Mu family's power run! Lin Tang hasn't just stirred up a hornet's nest... he's plunged into a dragon's den and a tiger's lair. He's courting absolute doom!

I refuse to be dragged down with this bastard!

Zhu Yingning turned and fled, scrambling down a random path. She didn't dare watch Lin Tang's brutal death, nor did she believe he could possibly survive.

Killing Tang Dingbo was a stroke of incredible luck. There was no way he could defeat a peak Master as well. What a joke. Does he think he's a Grandmaster?

SWISH! SWISH! SWISH! SWISH!

Sword Qi radiated like a rainbow, piercing the sky. Lin Tang stood fearlessly as his True Qi surged. The shadow's overwhelming power was like porcelain striking a diamond, its defenses shattering with pathetic ease. In the blink of an eye, all of its fingers were severed, and the flesh was flayed from its arm, exposing stark white bone.

But in the next instant, spider-like threads shot out from its blood vessels, wrapping around the severed fingers and shredded flesh and pulling them back into place. Its hand returned to normal. Its arm was completely healed.

How can this be... Lin Tang's eyes widened. It was the first ti he had shown shock in a battle.

"You are quite good, but this is as far as you go." The shadow's expression remained eerily calm, as placid as an ancient well, as if it lacked all human emotion. It was like a walking corpse.

It suddenly lunged, wrapping around Lin Tang like an octopus. It didn't even flinch as the divine sword pierced its chest. SWISH! SWISH! SWISH! From its eye sockets, nostrils, mouth, and ears, threads lashed out, attempting to entangle Lin Tang like an insect caught in a web.

How disgusting! Lin Tang refused to be tainted by this sinister power. He focused his True Qi, a needlepoint against a spear, and dissolved every last thread.

"What is this power? It's not combat energy... It slls so fragrant, so delicious! I must devour you!" The shadow was suddenly intoxicated, like a demon that had laid eyes on the flesh of a holy monk. All its calmness was replaced by absolute madness. Its mouth split wide, the corners of its lips tearing with a sickening hiss until they reached its ears, revealing rows of shark-like serrated teeth. It was a true maw of blood, ready to swallow Lin Tang's head whole.

Anyone else would have been scared witless by the sight, their performance crippled by fear, handing the creature an easy victory. Lin Tang, however, was unflappable. Though surprised, his output of True Qi never wavered.

ROAR!

A sound like a dragon's roar thundered. A majestic wave of True Qi ford the image of a dragon's head and slamd through the shadow, causing it to explode into chunks of flesh. Even as threads connected the twitching pieces on the ground, they only squird for a mont before falling completely still. Lin Tang followed up with his divine sword, grinding the remains until not even dust was left.

This ti, there was surely no coming back to life.

Lin Tang sheathed his sword, frowning in thought. What the hell was that? I didn't sense any evil arts or baleful energy. How strange.

A few minutes later, he found Zhu Yingning hiding in a small mountain depression. She was crouched down, head buried between her knees, curled up like a round, soft ball.

Lin Tang kicked her lightly with the tip of his foot.

"Ah! Don't kill ! That bastard Lin Tang forced to do everything! I have an irreconcilable feud with him! It's wonderful that you killed him, Senior! I'm finally free... Huh?!"

Zhu Yingning's words were a jumbled ss, but they choked in her throat as if she were a duck being strangled by fate.

How... Lin Tang isn't dead? Why isn't he dead?!

"An irreconcilable feud?" Lin Tang teased, patting her raised head.

"Master, I was wrong..."

This ti, Zhu Yingning willingly presented her rear, allowing him to spank her as he pleased.

Her mind was screaming. He actually killed a peak Master... He really is a Grandmaster! It's unbelievable! If word of this got out, wouldn't it shock the entire world?!
