The information that I had crossed worlds sobered up quite a bit.
I had to stand up; I had to go back to find Henry.
I forced my body to obey, needing three attempts to get into a sitting position and longer to stand.
"Do you need help?"
I didn’t answer; I just looked around with my gun in my hand.
The sa scene I had seen in my dreams, except I didn’t see any faceless sculptures, just nature in a crystalline version with spectacular lighting.
I looked at Henry’s counterpart, recognizing his tattered uniform.
"You are... Commander Hannibal from... the DA or sothing?" I forced out; my fever made not only holding onto a thought impossible but also affected my speech.
So he was not only still alive but also hadn’t found his way ho.
Though everything was blurry and I was dizzy as hell, I could still see his face turning stern.
"Do you know ?"
"You have children... with an orange-haired woman?" I continued, his expression turning dangerous, while his hand sneaked to his back, grabbing sothing.
I raised my gun again and pointed it at him, although I could only hold it askew.
"My na is Kenny. I am the savior of your world." I slurred out, seeing him freeze before narrowing his eyes.
"What?"
I would have loved to explain to him that if I hadn’t gone to fight the giant on so dead planet, he would have invaded their world, and everyone would have died.
Though the giant was my counterpart, and it had been he wanted, which had made the whole thing basically a tag ga with myself, implicating innocent worlds that had nothing to do with , and although that guy won’t believe anyway, I felt the need to state the fact that he should have been kneeling down to thank instead of attacking upon sight.
I forced my jumbled thoughts into order.
If I was here alone, which I apparently was, then I had crossed alone.
How to cross alone?
Probably because I had teleported, which would explain my state, possibly from power overuse.
I had to go back; I could go unconscious and take a rest when I arrived back ho, when I was with Henry.
No matter how much power I needed to go ho, I had to get it together so the dumb dog wouldn’t search around for his owner, maybe even thinking he had been abandoned.
"Imma out of here. By the way... Dr. Carell’s theories are all bullshit... there is no corruption." I left my last words behind before flipping the coin, thinking of ho.
"Wait!" Hannibal said, taking a step toward , apparently sohow understanding that I was leaving.
I ignored him, and a few seconds passed until I finally realized that I was still here.
"Fuck." I flipped the table in my mind, wanting to use the giant’s power to go ho, but it didn’t work; the uncarved tabletop remained completely unmoved.
"Fuck," I repeated, looking at the earth that made a sharp turn as I fell, as my view darkened and I blacked out.
*************
I felt myself being carried by strong arms, but this body was not the one I wanted it to be.
It was foreign and strange.
So, without opening my eyes, I delivered a punch to the face of the person carrying . "Let go... asshole," I mumbled.
A grunt later, I was still being carried and lost consciousness again, my fever grilling my brain rcilessly.
*************
It seed to be dark around , and I felt a hand on my forehead as my body lay on so fabric.
"Will he survive?" A strange voice asked.
"I don’t know," A much more familiar voice answered, closer than the other one.
I grabbed the hand on my forehead and put it to my cheek, snuggling into it.
This hand was warm but not as smooth; it was not Henry’s hand.
I snapped my eyes open, and when I looked into a stunned face with ugly, normal blue eyes, I kicked the man’s chest, sending him flying a few ters.
"Commander!" Two n instantly hurried to him, helping him up as I closed my eyes, blacking out yet again.
*************
No matter how often I kicked or punched around , soone was being persistent.
My weak body was carried around, into the darkness, then again into the glaring light, where I had to hold out for hours while a hand shielded my closed eyes from the brightness. Then I was carried back into the darkness, occasionally hearing voices talking.
"Should we continue our journey, Commander?" A voice asked.
"What about Mr. Aslan?" The other strange voice questioned.
"Should we stay forever just to take care of him? He will die anyway!"
"Give Kenny two more days. If he doesn’t get better, we continue on our way and leave Mr. Aslan behind." The familiar voice answered.
"Go fuck yourself." I mumbled, feeling angry—fucking angry—that each ti I regained consciousness, I thought that Henry was the one talking only to be disappointed, slapped in the face by the fact that he wasn’t here with .
************
I opened my eyes, looking at the ceiling of a cave, though when I took a closer look, it was evident that I was really in the crystalline world. So I hadn’t dread the whole ordeal.
"How are you feeling?" The commander kneeled on the ground beside .
A lot better. I didn’t say it out loud; instead, I looked at him and reached my hand out.
He looked at strangely before eventually taking it.
When I flipped the coin, I didn’t see how Henry was doing, but instead I saw the crystalline figure, the commander’s nearest counterpart.
I let go and closed my eyes, trying to teleport ho as well as to flip the table—both unsuccessfully, just as before.
"You took care of ?" I asked the commander, who humd.
When I opened my eyes again, I looked at Henry’s face at an age over twenty-five.
His features would grow to be a bit rougher than I knew them, but he was beautiful nevertheless. The beauty mark was still in place, and even with short hair, he looked breathtaking—or at least my Henry would.
This counterpart was only a copy that looked at complicatedly.
"Yes."
"Thank you." I nodded at him and sat up.
Under were clothes to prevent the sharp ’earth and stones’, which were ultimately just crystals, from injuring .
Two additional individuals were inside the cave, yet instead of tattered military uniforms, they sported tattered suits.
"Are you the guys who disappeared from country X with your whole little company going missing?" I asked the two n, one with a birthmark on his cheek, the other a bit fatter, reminding of my shitting buddy, though this office guy wasn’t as fat.
I should have told Ethan to get my shitting buddy out of prison, but I forgot. I have to do that when I am back ho.
"Yes!" They both sprang up from the ground they had been lounging on and hurried to my side.
They seed to understand , which I figured given that I heard them talking in my native language while going in and out of consciousness.
So we all understood each other, which was good.
"Who are you? Where are you coming from?" The chubby man asked , while the commander, who had stood up and taken a step back, watched with hawk-like eyes, apparently wanting to know the answer as well.
"We are practically family." I chuckled.
"Because we co from the sa dinsion."
