I want to try it; I want to know if this damn coin can bring back.
A motif of people—what the fuck does that even an?
"Kenny?" the commander asked, looking at as I was lost in my own thoughts.
"Bring him into the cave," I said, glancing at the wheezing Mr. Azlan, who clearly needed so rest.
The commander looked at the crystalline figure still imitating Mr. Aslan.
"Don’t care about him," I said, standing up as well.
The commander went to work and lifted Mr. Aslan up. When he took a step, we all watched the figure that moved just the sa, except it moved over the ground.
As if the little grass and earth crystals were carrying him, or maybe it was his own body that had developed little legs while being in a position similar to a ’princess carry.’
"What the fuck?" I took a step toward the figure, bending down to see if I could figure out how it was moving right beside the commander.
"Can I sit on it? Isn’t this really practical?" I thought out loud when I heard the commander disagreeing.
"No!"
What the hell does he even care? I walked after him; this ti, it was who motioned the two office guys to follow.
They were still standing there, stunned that we were apparently bringing the figure back to the cave.
"Co on," I said before following up as well, my eyes constantly on the figure.
It seed that the crystals on its ass and part of its back were moving, not the ground, like a flat escalator.
Really fascinating, and all that so it could mirror or imitate its counterpart.
I don’t think I can really kill my counterpart if it also behaves so cutely.
Wait, wouldn’t this an I had the chance to et a counterpart that was being nice and friendly? Not as depraved as the rest?
Damn, now I really can’t kill it, but maybe it wouldn’t even be necessary if the violet people coin proved its usefulness.
The five of us and one figure went back to the cave; it wasn’t far, and Mr. Aslan was placed on the few clothes on the ground, which had served as my bed, the crystalline figure taking a good nap beside him.
I pushed the commander away, careful not to step on the figure, before I crouched down to Mr. Aslan.
He was still blue, but not as much anymore.
I conjured water and opened it before trying to feed him. It wasn’t necessary; Mr. Aslan ripped the water out of my hands as if he had been thirsty for years, though the sunlight should have done the trick.
I also conjured a wet towel and flung it on his forehead because I really had no idea what else to do to help him.
I don’t think I had ever held an inhaler in my hand, so I wouldn’t be able to conjure it up.
Stepping away from the two patients, I went outside, running into the two suit guys at the entrance of the cave.
"The figure won’t do anything to you. You saw for yourself how well-behaved it is." I was in the midst of contemplating if I should leave these guys to flip the giant coin or if it would be better to do it inside.
It wasn’t easy to decide because I had no idea what would happen after using this unknown power.
"How did you know? That this thing can be lifted and that it isn’t bad?" Chubby Guy asked hesitantly.
"Secret." I smirked back at him, wanting a smoke.
Both went inside, and the mont I thought I had silence to weigh the pros and cons of staying here or going away, the commander ca to my side.
"How did you know?" No idea if that fucker had heard evading the office guy’s question or if he asked coincidentally.
"Shut up."
"Why are you so hostile towards ?" He asked.
I looked at him incredulously.
"Did you forget how we t? Are you senile, old man?" Well, I wouldn’t like him either way.
He laughed.
"I already apologized."
Go fuck yourself. Ah, but I had a question for him.
"You said the crystals were inflammable; how do you know this?"
"If I tell you, will you tell how you know so much about this dungeon?"
"Deal."
He nodded and bent down to his ankle, where he pulled out sothing draped in fabric. Unwrapping it, it revealed a military knife, similar to the one Henry and I had often used.
"When we ca into the crystal world, I tried to use it to climb a tree, and when the knife ca into contact with the crystals that the tree was made of, sparks flew. If I hadn’t acted fast and had thrown myself on the fla, this world would have been burned down." He wrapped the knife back in the fabric and returned it to his ankle.
It was true; his tattered uniform had a burned hole in it, spreading all over his chest and stomach, revealing the bulletproof vest he was wearing beneath it.
"Ah. No knives and no guns. Got it." So why did my visions show that these things could replicate weapons as well? Just show directly that everything would burn down if I even let a spoon fall.
"So?"
"Oh, you probably have already suspected that more versions of one person exist through these worlds. These counterparts, when eting inside one world, would attract each other." I don’t know if he had really known the first part, but if they had investigated Dr. Carell already, he should have guessed that the whole corruption part was bullshit.
"Anyway, that thing didn’t seem to eat humans, so I figured it had probably just wanted to cuddle a bit."
The commander chuckled in amusent.
"You are really strange."
"Shut up." I thought it through; I would flip the coin in the cave.
Even if the table was flipped, I didn’t lose control, and currently there were no headaches or fever. When Henry was shot, I also used the giant’s power to get my two victims into the desert and break their necks, and nothing had happened.
Additionally, I had trust in my ability, even with a flipped table, even with divided powers that constantly acted out between and the giant.
"I’m going to get inside and ditate. If I suddenly disappear, then don’t worry; I’ll send help to you guys." I inford the commander.
"What does that an?" He gripped my arm tightly.
"Back off; it ans what I said." I shook him off and walked inside to sit against the cave wall.
Was this a mistake? Should I search for a faraway place to flip the coin and risk being found by my crystalline counterpart or even Kenny2, who had a good chance of creeping around sowhere nearby?
Fuck it.
I focused on the flipped table in my mind, on the children’s carving of a giant on the wood, and took the violet coin from the tabletop.
I flipped it.
The coin floated, turned, and twirled in the air before I caught it in my hand and slamd it on the back of my other hand.
Uncovering it, I saw not a children’s drawing of people; instead there stood a ’P’ on the coin.
’Does this P stand for people?’ I thought, before feeling myself get sucked away.
One mont I was losing myself, and the next it was as if I had just woken up from a deep sleep, as the air had changed, the scenery had changed, and the noises had as well.
There was a chair under , cutlery in my hands, and the taste of food in my mouth.
When I opened my eyes, I found myself staring at a table with food on it, hearing people talk around . It was a full room, and looking up, I recognized it imdiately.
The big dining room inside the center.
I did it; I made it back ho.
Across from sat Chelsea, beside sat Harry, and beside Chelsea were the twins, but I didn’t see Henry.
I needed to hurry up and find him.
...
...
Wait.
Why was nobody reacting to my sudden appearance inside the dining hall?
"Patrick?" Harry asked , shaking my shoulder.
I turned my head and saw shock on Glasses Guy’s face when he got to look at .
"Your eyes!"
