Henry humd in agreent, and for a few monts neither of us moved.
"You were also scared that I’d disappear again if I teleported, but nothing happened." I raised my arms and hugged him back tightly.
"I know. Sorry for being so scared."
"No worries, I am also scared for you, so how about we both stop sneaking away when the other is asleep? You know, sleeping innocently and unassumingly..." I chuckled, and my mind cald now that I had a clear goal and the REAL conviction that we could get to the bottom of this.
"Okay. I promise," he said rather droopily.
"Good boy."

Why the fuck am I praising him when he sneaked off to not only kill people but to also show his powers to them?
I must have lost it.
"You will still be punished." I corrected it.
"Oh?" The excitent was dripping from his voice, and I admonished myself for forgetting who I was dealing with.
I pulled back, and my eyes fell on the woman beneath us.
Yeah, we’ll have to start with that first, and I got a feeling that I would uncover more with her anyway.
"I’ll flip the coin on her first to look where she got the... baby from."
Henry sighed but didn’t stop as I counted down and teleported behind the tree she was leaning against and on whose branches I just stood.
I peeked at the garden, which was around a hundred ters away; here was just part of the forest, although the earth was really dark and the trees were leafless.
The trees themselves were also blackish, reminding of a place... hmm, that was a question for later.
Henry appeared behind and hugged possessively while I leaned forward from behind the tree and touched the woman’s long, unkempt hair that was partly stuck to the tree bark, because I didn’t want to startle her and possibly have her throw the worm baby or sothing.
Yet before I could turn back to Henry and give him a sign that I was going to start, I was in the space with the table and the coin.
I saw myself taking the coin, flipping it by force, and revealing it on the back of my other hand. I was sucked into the vision instantly, only haphazardly catching a glimpse of what the hands on the coin uncovered.
It was as if this woman cradling the worms WANTED to see, as if she NEEDED to see, and thus was fucking FORCING to see.
Gold, the back of my hand; eyes, ears, and HEART uncovered.
I stand in front of a mirror and comb through my hair one last ti before putting away my brush and closing my locker.
The doctor’s coat looks good on , and I am excited to et my senior and show it to him.
I turn around and see a man dressed in black, standing right behind , but he doesn’t seem to be really HERE, so I don’t react to him or his scary mask.
"Kenny?" he asks and looks around, but I don’t really hear what he says, so I skip out of the locker room.
I search for my senior in the laboratory and soon find the light-blonde man sitting in front of a microscope.
I hug him from behind, only for him to push back.
"I am working!" he says with annoyance.
I cross my arms and pout.
"I got my white coat today, and you won’t even look!"
He moves the chair away from his microscope and massages his temples.
"I’m sorry. You know I have to finish with this experint. If I don’t, I am going to get thrown out of the university, and then I will have to take over the company." He knocks three tis on the wooden table before he finally looks at .
I sigh, feeling guilty for having gotten on his nerves.
"No, it’s my fault; I am sorry for being annoying. Can I help you with sothing?" I ask him.
"You look good in white." He opens his arms, and I jump into them.
"Can you test the probes on that table? Don’t worry, I will prove it to them."
I really don’t care about this but nod either way, agreeing with him, while looking at the window above his desk.
There I see a dark figure that watches us with crossed arms, but this figure is not really there.

I look in the mirror, brushing my long hair inside a mansion. I look at the reflection of the bed behind .
"Eddie, you have to get up, or we will be late."
The man on the bed moves, looking for the clock. The mont he sees the ti, he jumps out of bed.
"WHY DIDN’T YOU WAKE UP?" he screams before running into the bathroom.
But I did try to wake him up; he just wouldn’t move.
I hear him showering and look at the black pencil skirt and cream-colored blouse I am wearing.
"The white coat looked better..." I whisper.
When he cos out of the shower and is dressed in a suit, he kisses my cheek.
"I am sorry; I am just so nervous."
"I know. We will tackle the company together!" I say, but I can’t muster any enthusiasm.
"I am sorry that it has co to this. I am sorry that you had to be engaged to a loser like ." Edward places his arm around my waist, and we walk out of our bedroom and down the stairs in this big mansion.
"You aren’t a loser, but I think we shouldn’t have given up on science. There are many people in your family that are scientists." It’s a pity to give up because of one drawback.
He shoves the little lucky charm that is placed beside the door inside the pocket of his pants, and we leave the mansion to take one of the cars.
When we enter the car, with Eddie taking the driver’s seat, we continue our conversation while he turns the wooden bracelet around his wrist.
"Yes, just that they are prodigies in their fields. The mont I proved to be a failure, I had no choice but to drop what I loved. They would have given the company branch to my second uncle if I had forsaken the deal with my grandfather and insisted on science." He starts the car, tapping on the rearview window twice before tapping the steering wheel.
I watch him, and when I look into the rearview mirror, I see the dark figure again that is not HERE.
I look at Eddie.
"That’s not true; you aren’t a failure. Would it have really been so bad to leave the company branch to your second uncle?"
"Yes... You know the reason."
Yes, I know. My father-in-law hates his second brother. The mont the company would have landed in his grasp, my husband would have been thrown out of the family.
I look out of the window, thinking again, ’Would that have really been so bad?’
I don’t like Eddie’s family; they look down on and constantly deliver jabs at , although my parents are good, hardworking people, and so am I. However, every ti Eddie is with , they behave friendly.
They are fake.

I look into the mirror as the stylist brushes through my hair.
I look older than when I had been in college, and the doctor just can’t get the signs of turning thirty away.
"Mrs. Lawrence, you look as if you have just turned twenty! How are you doing it?" the stylist asks, and this is the reason why I like her the most.
"How sweet of you." I smile wholeheartedly, the first ti after a while, as I continue to watch her.
Another lady enters the high-end salon, sporting a big tummy.
I press my lips together seeing that, but when I catch my reflection in the mirror, I relax my mouth again.
The lady with the big tummy just had to sit on the stool beside mine.
"Serena. Fancy seeing you here." She smiles at while stroking over her belly provocatively.
I sigh, but my stylist leans forward to whisper in my ear.
"Don’t tell anyone, but she already has gray hair; the blonde is just a hair color." She chuckles, and I have to hold it together to not laugh out loud.
"Finished." My stylist takes out a mirror and shows the backside of my new wavy hairstyle for the day.
I stand up, happy that I didn’t have to fight with my pregnant cousin-in-law, as I walk to the cashier.
My stylist accompanies and rings up.
When I take my purse out, I already have a sinking feeling that hasn’t left since I saw Eddie destroying a few boxes of docunts a few days ago.
But he said I didn’t have to worry...
I swipe my credit card and look at the display.
Paynt declined.
My eyes fill with tears, and I exchange a look with my stylist.
She looks at uneasily, catching on quickly just like always.
"Did you forget the right card? Just bring it tomorrow." She smiles, and I lower my head in sha.
"Thank you." I choke out before leaving the beauty salon.
I take my Porsche and speedily drive ho, being furious.
I didn’t dare to use my other cards because if they were declined as well, it would be undeniable, and I would have caused an obvious scene.
The company wasn’t doing well, and I had turned a blind eye while bathing in luxury.
It’s my fault.
When I arrive ho, I see a foreign car in the driveway, which ans that we have a guest.
I look into the rearview mirror to clean up my face before leaving the car and ignore the black-clothed and masked man getting out of the car with .
I enter the mansion and hear an old voice talking.
"Also, do you see this doorway? You have to get rid of the whole wall. The money goes out right here, right here!"
Furrowing my eyebrows, I walk toward the voices and see a foreigner in foreign traditional clothes standing there with my husband—Eddie.
The latter looks around in contemplation.
"I understand. Can you take a look at the pond in the garden? I feel uneasy whenever I look at it."
"Eddie?" My voice cos out shrilly, and I see my husband turning around with a wide grin on his face.
"You are ho again?"
"Yes. What’s going on here?"
"Nothing, my dear; I will explain everything later, but I think I found the reason for our bad luck!"
