"Move." The guard pushed when I stood still, hit by the fact that Henry was with us. This ti, if he again injured while we faced a monster, I would get rid of him. But just looking at his dumb dog behavior, I doubt he would behave that way again.
I still can't believe that this is this sa person, behaving so damn differently constantly.
Being pushed, I naturally moved forward and climbed the stairs to the inside of the bus. Five others were already sitting, including Henry. Three of them were baldies; Teddy was none of them. Figured, he was a coward who wouldn't go on such a mission.
The seats were far apart from each other, only one-seaters, two per row on each window-side of the bus. In front of every seat was an iron 'T' screwed to the bus floor, as high as the seats, to which the prisoners were chained. I was brought to the other seat in Henry's row. The guard sat behind us in the middle, in what seed to be a special guard-seat.
"Told you I'd co." Henry grinned. The bus started, and he pulled his jacket up.
"Kenny, look!"
I turned my head to the right and looked at him, seeing him showing his hipbone and a few of his abdominal muscles. He pulled up his orange underwear for to see.
"Can you believe it? Even the underwear!" He chuckled.
"I have the sa, so what is your reason for showing ?" I asked him with narrowed eyes.
"It's orange!" He emphasized dumbly.
"I know, MINE IS ORANGE TOO, YOU FUCKER!" I yelled a bit too loud, having the prisoners watch and the guard behind bellowing for silence.
I gave Henry a death glare and looked out of the window. Because of him, I have missed precious seconds of the scenery outside of prison; curse that damn dog.
We had already left the prison area; until now, I didn't even know where the building I lived in was exactly located. I have never been to prison or anything, nor was there so in my city of which I knew of. The forest-like surroundings proved that this was not anywhere near the center whatsoever.
My friends, taking the long way upon them every weekend, were really... I hope Jordan understood with our last talk on the phone that this was not necessary.
It took us half an hour until there were houses. I get it; nobody wanted to live near a prison full of murderers. Another twenty minutes later, I saw the first people, as well as females. That was a sight for sore eyes.
I wasn't that hungry for a woman, but only being surrounded by the sa sex was not sothing to be happy about.
Regarding the mission of the expedition, I have a new theory why they are sending prisoners, besides us serving as cannon fodders. It would be easier to let the prisoners undergo difficult tests when they ca back under the cover of healthcare. And that could also be a reason why I, especially, was asked to take part in this expedition.
Let's say I go in that earth hole and co back; they can then say, 'Oh, down there is radioactivity, so we need to get your bone marrow to make sure you are alright'. This would be more explainable than, 'Oh, you probably have so abilities; let's cut you open.'
This is my latest theory. Anyway, everything will co as it may. I have a gun and endless bullets, so I could kill more than a few people, when they try to cut open.
I watched the houses on the side and felt that the air was much fresher, even in this bus, without an actual airflow from outside.
Damn, the world suddenly seems so much bigger. As if my horizon were suddenly widened. I felt a stare and turned my head, only to find Henry staring at with an unfathomable expression. Disinterested, I turned back.
Yeah, you and your sister have deprived of exactly this....of fucking freedom.
I was glued to my window as we crossed the city, driving south, until we turned into a big road.
Left and right of the road were barricades, holding back humans; the number increased the farther we drove and the closer we ca to our destination. So were drinking, so fighting, so yelling paroles, so held signs on which global warming was blad for the catastrophe that happened, and so signs spoke of the apocalypse.
I was stunned by how many citizens were there. I turned my head and saw that Henry was also looking out of his window; on his side were just as many people.
Amidst the masses, our prison bus ca to a halt.
It seed we had arrived.
What would wait for was walking outside this bus, in my orange getup and with cuffed hands, with a guard beside , and 'Convicted Prisoner' written on my back, only for these many people to see . The thought alone let suddenly hyperventilate while I was still in my seat.
Next ca an old acquaintance; I got a seizure.
Trembling and gasping for air, the cuffs made feel caged.
"Kenny! KENNY!" Henry exclaid, but I didn't hear him as my body cramped, and I fought against the cuffs on my hands and feet.
I trashed with the cuffs against the 'T' I was cuffed against, hurting myself in the process.
"WHAT IS WITH YOU!" The guard behind had stood up and cursed.
"KENNY, YOU ARE ALRIGHT! THEY WILL UNCUFF YOU SOON!" Henry was way louder than the guard, but I could only fear panic roaring through , making my heart beat nearly out of my chest.
Clenching my jaw, I tried to control it, but I had not a damn chance.
"What's the matter with him?" The driver yelled back, the four prisoners looked back at , laughing, complaining , or just watching the show.
"I don't know, he is having a seizure!" The guard grabbed my hair with hell of a force and pulled my head back to take a closer look at my face.
Henry growled loudly while standing up, fighting against his own handcuffs.
"TAKE YOUR HANDS OFF HIM!"
