Whimpering, eyes squeezed shut with tears at the corners, Yohan hesitated. His lower belly was drenched—first he’d thought he’d leaked urine when pressure pressed against his bladder, but he knew better now. In the end he shook his head.

“No, Yohan?”

The thick, weighty length drove back in, and Yohan cried out. Hyunmook’s lips grazed his ear as he murmured,

Yohan nodded. More than the difficulty, it was the drawn-out pace that left him aching with impatience. Hyunmook kissed his cheek once more, then drove harder, hips slapping audibly at last.

Yohan’s legs kicked in the air before curling tight. Hyunmook pounded in with sharp thrusts, and Yohan’s moans rose sweetly.

Those three simple syllables carried a heavy weight. Hyunmook cherished his lover more than anything—his only light, his salvation, his dearest. He could even accept falling into the Abyss again, so long as they were together. Of course, he would never allow that to happen.

Drawn by the aroma, he peeked into the kitchen. On the stove, a pot of seafood sundubu jjigae bubbled, rich and steaming. Hyunmook cracked four eggs into it.
“You cooked this yourself?”
Puzzled, Yohan tried to recall if they’d bought seafood yesterday. Smiling, Hyunmook explained,
“I just reheated what Seungryong gave us. Last night’s dinner wasn’t so good—so breakfast should be hearty.”
“Looks delicious...”
Knowing Seungryong’s skill well, Yohan gulped at the spicy scent. Opening the fridge to set the table, he found containers of side dishes packed full. Kimchi, various banchan—he laid them out with utensils. When the eggs reached soft half-done, the stew was ready.
Yohan eagerly ate two full bowls of rice. After getting ready for work, with ti to spare, he unpacked his survival bag and fiddled with the gear. Hyunmook ca up beside him.
“So diligent, my little sheep.”
Grinning, Yohan inspected the contents—wires, lamps, high-calorie rations, dicine. The bulk was bottled water. Unless accompanied by an Awakener who could control water or ice, it was indispensable, the most vital resource. Rift water, no matter how filtered, was useless.
“What’s this for...?”
From the ergency kit, Yohan pulled out a strip of sticky, elastic transparent tape. At first glance he’d mistaken it for bandages, but it was tacky, resilient, practically unbreakable. Flipping through the manual in confusion, Hyunmook explained.
