"Okay, you can switch to second gear now, release the gas pedal, press the clutch, shift gears, just like starting, give it a try," Mu Xingfeng continued.
"Honey, why can’t I move the gear stick?" An Ran gripped it and tried to pull.
"Ranran, don’t look down, watch the road ahead."
"But why won’t the gear stick move?"
"Did you press the clutch? Press it all the way down."
"I did, I’ve been pressing it, ah—"
Just as she spoke, the car suddenly lurched forward, scaring An Ran into screaming with her eyes closed.
Mu Xingfeng quickly put the car in neutral and pulled the handbrake, bringing the car to a stop.
In the back seat, Liu Hu rubbed his sore forehead, realizing that riding in his sister-in-law’s car was like a life or death situation.
An Ran opened her eyes, looked at the tree not far away, then at Mu Xingfeng beside her, her large eyes misty with tears as she tremblingly called, "Honey~"

Concerned for his own life, Liu Hu awkwardly said, "Um, I’ll go get a bottle of water for the sister-in-law."
With that, he opened the door and got out of the car.
An Ran nestled in Mu Xingfeng’s arms for a while, listening to his strong heartbeat, her own heart settling down.
Earlier, she was a mix of joy and sorrow, excited to have gotten the car moving, but forgetting the actual steps involved. With the gas, brake, and clutch all beneath her feet, when the car stopped, she understood clearly, but once it started moving, she beca flustered, especially needing to use both feet to control it, she couldn’t tell her left foot from her right.
"Mu Xingfeng, don’t worry, let take another look, these three pedals look all jumbled up," An Ran pouted, looking down at her feet in complaint.
"Alright, no rush. If it’s really too difficult, let’s try an automatic; it has just two pedals and may be easier."
The man softly consoled her, not realizing he’d beco utterly indulgent in front of his young wife.

The car window was tapped on, and then Jing Xiangyang got in with a look of discontent.
"Boss, where’s that brat Lin Junyang? I looked everywhere and couldn’t find him."
"He’s got free ti now; he doesn’t need to report to where he goes," Mu Xingfeng replied without lifting his head, continuing to instruct his young wife on the gears.
Jing Xiangyang didn’t mind, sticking his head between the two seats, "Boss, isn’t the Special Training Team selecting mbers officially? What’s the deal with sending a doctor there? Right, was it Lin Junyang’s monkey business? I haven’t seen him in days. Hasn’t he been with Xiao Xiao these days? Boss, you can’t play favorites. Listening to Jing Xiangyang’s rambling, An Ran grew curious, "Doctor Jing, how is Brother Yang not pure in thought?"
