Mu Xingfeng affectionately ruffled her small head and seriously said, "I use my charm to distract you, only because I don’t want you to leave . Who asked my wife to value appearance so much?"
Mu Xingfeng sat next to An Ran, looking at her with burning eyes.

An Ran rubbed against his big hand, still with eyes full of joy, "You can’t be so overbearing. You’re going to the Imperial City for your career, so what am I supposed to do? My studies aren’t finished yet, how can I give up halfway?"
"Yes," Mu Xingfeng sighed, his big hand changing direction to wrap around her shoulder, letting her lean in his arms, "I also tell myself not to be too selfish, to respect you, but there’s always a little devil inside of , urging to pack you up, carry you on my shoulder against your will, and take you back to the Imperial City, always keeping you by my side."
As An Ran listened to Mu Xingfeng’s words, the curve of her mouth widened.
"Mu Xingfeng, I think you’ve gone bad. Where did you learn to talk so smooth and slick?"
"In my whole life, no one has ever called Mu Xingfeng smooth-talking, you’re the first one, wife, and I’m only like this to you. Do you like it?"
Before An Ran could answer, there was a "knock knock knock" at the door, breaking the tender mood.
An Ran quickly got off the bed, put on her shoes, and hurried into the other room, her face obviously flushed.
Mu Xingfeng chuckled softly and got up to open the door.
Outside was Liu Hu, who saluted when he saw Mu Xingfeng, then entered as Mu Xingfeng stepped aside.
"Boss, those rumors probably ca from Captain Li’s family. We investigated several wives, and they all said they heard it from Sister-in-law Sun. But since this morning’s commotion, the wives understand how serious it is, and they’re afraid of offending people, so no one wants to co out and point fingers at Sister-in-law Sun."
As Liu Hu spoke, his head was lowered. Earlier today, he and Jia Chenggang had gone with Mu Xingfeng to et the leadership. But when they ca out, Jia Chenggang got reprimanded, while he was unscathed.
Mu Xingfeng had told him at the ti not to worry about anything, that he would handle it all, and sure enough, he took all the responsibility.
He still rembers how the leadership was amused yet annoyed with their captain, saying that Mu Xingfeng’s transfer order to be the Special Training Team leader hadn’t even been issued yet, but he was already acting the part.
How did the captain respond then? He seed to have bluntly retorted that whether or not he was the Special Training Team leader, he would handle the matter the sa way.
Arrogant as it was, the captain’s protective attitude touched him even more.
So after leaving the office he skipped lunch and kept investigating the issue. It’s fine if they tried to sar him, but saring the boss and the sister-in-law with dirt would make him flip Nan’an upside down to get to the bottom of it.
But even though it’s been investigated, without a wife willing to testify, without evidence, it might be tough to deal with.
