An Ran comfortably leaned against Mu Xingfeng’s chest, reaching out to touch the man’s handso face, looking as if she was all ears, "Go on, what do you want to tell ?"
Mu Xingfeng caught the small hand on his cheek, "Nothing much to say."
Mu Xingfeng was not a man of many words. Before eting An Ran, the most he said in a day were probably just issued commands. But ever since being with An Ran, he enjoyed talking to the little one. Yet, it was still a bit difficult for him to find topics to talk about.
An Ran tilted her chin to look at the man, seeing him staring at her unblinkingly, her heart started to ring alarms.
Just as the man lowered his head, An Ran climbed off his lap, "I ate too much tonight. Co take a walk with outside."
Mu Xingfeng curved his lips into a smile, "Okay."
An Ran quickly ran to change her clothes, but when she ca out of the bedroom, she was stunned.
"What’s wrong?" Mu Xingfeng asked.
"Hubby, how about I just walk around the house? It’s too hot outside," An Ran said as she walked to the coffee table, poured a glass of water, and gulped it down.
When Mu Xingfeng saw she’d almost finished drinking, he took the cup from her hand and placed it on the table, took her small hand, and started walking outside, "Let’s go. You’re upright and honest, so as your husband, I don’t care about those rumors, and neither should you hide from them," he said, turning to glance at her, "Trust , by tomorrow I’ll clear your na."
"But..."
An Ran’s words were interrupted by Mu Xingfeng, "Shh, don’t say anything unhappy. Leave it to ; you just focus on being happy."
After saying that, he squatted down to get An Ran’s shoes.
An Ran looked at the man squatting on the ground, her eyes shimring. Liu Hu had clearly said before that no sister-in-law had co forward to testify that the rumor was spread by Sun Lifang. Even if soone testified, knowing Sun Lifang, she would adamantly deny it. Yet here was Mu Xingfeng, spending the entire evening with her, and how exactly would he clear her na by tomorrow?
Lost in thought, she realized Mu Xingfeng had already helped her put on her shoes. He stood up, looking at the little one, gently smoothing the crease on her brow, and teased, "What? Don’t believe in your husband?"
An Ran smiled tenderly, wrapping her hand around his arm, "How could I not? You’re an almighty hero in my heart."
Mu Xingfeng affectionately tapped her little nose, "Since I’m your hero, you just need to be my princess. Let’s go take a walk outside. Want so ice cream?"
"Hubby, are you really treating like a little kid? Just because the kid was wronged outside, you’ll buy them treats to comfort them?" An Ran leaned on his arm and chuckled, her heart feeling sweet like it was filled with honey.
"I’ve said, you’re my life, and no one can bully you. Yet, I’m always causing you grievances, so I’ll have to pamper and spoil you even more, treating you like a little princess," Mu Xingfeng said, withdrawing his arm, taking two steps down the stairs, and crouching slightly, "Co on, it’s hot in the stairwell. I’ll carry you down."
An Ran obediently lay on his back, "Hubby, the way we are, won’t those gossips spread even more tales about ?"
Despite saying this, she was smiling like a cat that had stolen cream.
"I love my wife; let them say what they want. Maybe you should transfer to the Imperial dical University when the sester starts. It’s a prestigious school in the dical world and closer to . I’m getting more and more uneasy leaving you in Nan’an alone."
