After speaking, Mu Xingfeng turned and left the bathroom, his upright figure showing a hint of loneliness.
"Instructor Mu..."
The words of apology were at the tip of An Ran’s tongue, but she didn’t say them. She lowered her head and looked at the fragnts at her feet, feeling as if her heart had fallen to the ground as well.
Instructor Mu was finally angry with her. This ti, he did not force himself, but why did her heart feel so empty? Was it because Instructor Mu had pampered her too much before, and she was not used to it now?
Habits truly are a terrifying thing.
An Ran crouched down and picked up the fragnts of the dicine bowl piece by piece. She suddenly felt that it was good that Instructor Mu was angry. These past few days, he had been too good to her, so good that it created an illusion making her think she had really beco his girlfriend. Even more frightening was that she seed to be getting used to this way of getting along.
How could she be so delusional? How could soone as perfect as Instructor Mu be a match for her?
Instructor Mu treated her this way only because she had saved him accidentally. If he knew about her dirty past, he would probably avoid her as far as possible.
An Ran laughed self-deprecatingly, crouching on the ground, her eyes feeling puffy.
"Miss An, leave that to , don’t hurt your hands." Nanny Chen ca in, helped An Ran up, and escorted her out of the door. Then she went back to the bathroom to clean up the broken pieces on the floor.
Just now, she had vaguely heard the voices from upstairs while she was downstairs. Afterward, she saw the young master walk into the study with a solemn face and close the door, instructing her to tidy up the bedroom.
It was the first ti she had seen the young master get angry with Miss An. Seeing the broken dicine bowl now, she could guess the reason.
Nanny Chen sighed silently. Miss An was still young and inevitably capricious. Although the young master had been ticulous in his care for Miss An recently, everyone in the Mu Family knew that the young master had a temper.
He could be indifferent to you, letting you do as you please, or he could be ticulous and pampering, but no one could touch his bottom line.
An Ran sat on the bed until noon when Nanny Chen called her for lunch. She went downstairs and found the living room empty and the dining table set for only one person.
It seed that Instructor Mu was really angry. Since she had been here, he had never left her to eat alone at ho.
Nanny Chen seed to notice An Ran’s disappointnt and explained, "The young master went to the company. He had a luncheon eting and instructed that Miss An should have lunch properly by herself before he left."
An Ran nodded, picked up her chopsticks, indicating that she understood, but the food in her mouth tasted like wax.
What was wrong with her? An Ran felt increasingly depressed. She clearly wanted to distance herself from Instructor Mu, and now that she had achieved her wish, she should be happy.
Thinking of this, An Ran smiled at Nanny Chen, "Nanny Chen, why don’t you eat with ? There’s so much food, I can’t finish it all."
Nanny Chen watched An Ran’s little face change expressions, and finally, when An Ran asked her to join her for the al, Nanny Chen felt a bit puzzled but gestured hesitantly, "If Miss An feels too lonely, I can stand here and keep you company."
"Nanny Chen, just eat with . Eating alone is too boring." An Ran pulled Nanny Chen to sit down.
Nanny Chen thought that since An Ran ca to the Mu Family, it had always been the young master who kept her company during als. Now that the young master was not at ho, she must be unused to it. So, she didn’t refuse, went to the kitchen to get a set of cutlery, and sat down.
But she didn’t start eating right away. Instead, she served An Ran dishes while chatting with her.
Nanny Chen, indeed one of the Mu Family’s veterans, spoke with such tact and always managed to address their topics without overstepping boundaries.
