Mu Xingfeng irritably kicked the ground, then bent down to pick up the crying girl and threw her into the car, getting in himself.
He drove towards Nan’an University with her.
On the way, An Ran’s phone rang. Seeing that the little girl was already asleep and didn’t wake up even at the sound of the ringtone – she just smacked her lips – he didn’t have the heart to wake her, so he reached into her bag and took out the phone.
"An Ran, where have you been? Why are you still not back this late? Did your adoptive mother give you a hard ti?"

Forget it, better head to the school gate to pick up An Ran. Being with a man at this hour, hopefully, nothing bad had happened.
Xiao Xiao walked to the school gate, worrying non-stop, and arrived as quickly as possible.
Checking the ti, it had only been three minutes. She looked around.
Suddenly, headlights flashed in the distance as an off-road vehicle approached. The lights were so bright she instinctively shielded her eyes with her hand.
She had just cursed inwardly when the off-road vehicle stopped right in front of her and the headlights dimd.
In the dim streetlight, she saw the person in the passenger seat. Wasn’t that An Ran?
An Ran seed to be asleep at the mont. The man in the driver’s seat was gently patting An Ran’s face, as if trying to wake her.
This stupid girl, how could she just get into a stranger’s car and fall asleep inside? If he didn’t look like a guard team mber, Xiao Xiao would have lost control.
Seeing An Ran slowly waking up, Xiao Xiao stepped forward and opened the car door, imdiately hit by the sll of alcohol.
"Damn, you stupid girl, why did you drink?" Xiao Xiao instinctively roared, then rembered there was soone else inside and quickly put on a smile: "Thank you, officer, uh, no, thank you, comrade, for bringing her back. She didn’t trouble you, did she?"
"Not too much," Mu Xingfeng replied, hearing Xiao Xiao’s outburst and knowing she truly cared for An Ran. He didn’t say much else, and once he saw Xiao Xiao helping An Ran through the school entrance, he drove back ho.
Back at ho, just as he took out his keys, the door lock across from him clicked open, and Lin Junyang erged with a mischievous grin.
"Boss, why are you back so early?" After speaking, he glanced up and down at him, his eyes lingering particularly on his waist.
"You all seem quite free tonight?" Mu Xingfeng ignored Lin Junyang’s stare and responded coolly.
Lin Junyang gulped nervously, his expression turning bitter. Regret filled his heart; he knew teasing the boss was never wise: "Boss, we were all in plain clothes, absolutely didn’t cause any trouble for you. Besides, if it weren’t for us, who knows what would have happened to Tuzi tonight."
Hearing Lin Junyang ntion An Ran, even though the girl had indeed angered him tonight, mories of the car ride made his mood instantly better, and a slight smile curved his lips: "Keep up the good work," he left this command before entering his apartnt and closing the door.
