Who would have expected the girl’s next mont to be lifting her head, pouting her little cheeks in anger, and her big eyes filled with fury, sizing him up and down. Mu Xingfeng’s heart palpitated: "Ranran, what’s wrong?"
"Are you hurt?" Although he knew it was out of concern, the words from the little girl’s mouth sounded gritted and forceful.
Mu Xingfeng smiled indulgently and reached out to embrace her: "As you can see, I’m perfectly fine now. Feel relieved?"
An Ran pushed against his strong chest with both hands, still looking at him with displeasure, "Mu Xingfeng, you didn’t call for so long. Do you know how worried I was? Is it impossible to make a call during your mission? Even a text ssage would do."
An Ran complained, her eyes beginning to redden uncontrollably.
God knows how she spent the past ten-plus days, dreaming several tis that Mu Xingfeng was shot, waking up drenched in cold sweat.
Seeing her like this made Mu Xingfeng’s heart ache in pangs. He selfishly always wanted her by his side, never considering what being a military wife truly entailed.
At this mont, he felt so regret. He loved his little girl so dearly but couldn’t bear to bring her into the seemingly honorable yet truly arduous life of a military wife. She deserved better love.
"Ranran, I’m sorry," Mu Xingfeng held her tightly in his arms, repeating his apology over and over.
An Ran also understood that as a soldier, he was often compelled by circumstances beyond his control. Though she complained, there was more heartache and concern. Now, in his arms, listening to his strong heartbeat, her heart finally settled.
"Instructor Mu, I’m sorry, I was too willful."
Her soft, nasal voice sounded like a cat gently scratching at his heart, lting Mu Xingfeng instantly.
"Ranran, with , you can be willful."
Mu Xingfeng looked steadily at her, into her moist eyes, and spoke seriously.
"Alright, let’s go ho."
Mu Xingfeng said loudly, his tone carrying uncontrollable joy and a hint of restraint. He feared that if he held this little one any longer, he might lose control in the car.
Finally, he planted a heavy kiss on her forehead, let her go, started the car, and headed straight for Longteng Xinyuan.
Passing by the market, An Ran bought so ingredients, thinking it had been a long ti since she had cooked a proper al for Mu Xingfeng.
"Did you miss ?"
Mu Xingfeng leaned his forehead against hers, his deep voice slightly hoarse and irresistibly sexy. He looked at the girl’s lowered, coquettish eyes, the corners of his mouth carrying a faint smile.
"No," the girl replied without hesitation. Though she lowered her head, the smile at the corner of her eyes was evident, and the corners of her mouth lifted.
"Really no?" The man asked again, his strong arms tightening a bit more.
The girl lifted her head, looked at the man’s gentle and handso features, extended her arms, wrapped them around his neck, and pulled him towards herself.
Mu Xingfeng slightly lifted the corners of his mouth. This duplicitous little girl hardly seed like she didn’t miss him.
...
Two people in love are like this, no matter what they do, it feels exceptionally sweet.
When An Ran went to the kitchen, she saw Mu Xingfeng washing vegetables.
He was in a crisp outfit, sleeves rolled high, revealing his strong arms.
Even doing the most ordinary things, he looked so pleasing to the eye.
Clicking her tongue, An Ran felt once again that her decision was wise. Just like Xiao Xiao said, with such a handso man by her side, pushing him away would indeed be foolish.
