"Changqing, you’re being unreasonable. Do you want to keep such a beautiful chick for yourself?"
said the taller man behind Xu Changqing.
On the other end of the phone, Mu Xingfeng heard An Ran’s sudden silence, followed by a sleazy voice. Hearing the man’s words, he floored the gas pedal.
"Ranran, where are you?"
He almost shouted those words.
An Ran held the phone, not speaking, not because she was scared stiff, but because she was looking for a chance to escape.
In front of her were three large n. Besides Xu Changqing, the other two were not as muscular as Mu Xingfeng, but they were tall and strong.
An Ran knew that the reason she could easily teach Xu Changqing a lesson last ti was mainly because of her delicate appearance, which caught him off guard. She struck first. Moreover, Xu Changqing had dark circles under his eyes and wobbly steps, clearly soone who had been overindulging.
But now, facing these two large n, she knew that her limited martial arts skills stood no chance.
Hearing the noise from the phone, An Ran quickly brought it to her ear. "I’m on Tongsheng Road..."
Before she could finish, one of the n behind Xu Changqing stepped forward, snatched the phone from her hand, and threw it to the ground.
The phone shattered into pieces.
As the man grabbed the phone, An Ran darted forward, heading straight for Xu Changqing.
This alley led to a broad street at one end, while the other end was an endless darkness.
Though the street side was blocked by three people, An Ran still chose to break through that way.
For one, she couldn’t be sure if the alley was a dead end, and second, even if Mu Xingfeng found the place, she would need to be near the alley entrance for him to find her quickly.
Thinking back to that mont of desperation while working at the bar, she’d rather die than run deeper into the alley.
Seeing An Ran rush towards him, Xu Changqing instinctively ducked behind the n beside him.
An Ran took the chance to bypass the two n and attempt to run out, only to have her arm grabbed by one of them.
She was pulled back forcefully, but she anticipated this, using the montum to fling her other arm towards the man’s most vulnerable spot on his face.
"Ah—"
Caught off guard, the man scread, clutching his nose in pain and crouching to the ground, blood seeping through his fingers.
Xu Changqing took the opportunity to grab An Ran from behind, while the other man rushed over.
Using the leverage from Xu Changqing behind her, An Ran kicked off the ground, aiming both feet at the approaching man.
However, he was tall and strong, so it rely caused him to stumble, but it threw Xu Changqing off balance, making him fall to the ground with her in his grasp.
As they hit the ground, he let go of her.
An Ran quickly got up, grabbing a half-brick beside her and hitting the approaching man with it.
Another scream erupted, with blood pouring down the man’s forehead, covering his face.
In just a few breaths, An Ran managed to make two of the n bleed. But this only fueled their anger, and the two who had suffered losses were now charging towards her with faces twisted in rage...
anwhile, Mu Xingfeng had pushed his car to its limits, his heart constantly praying, An Ran, wait for . Hold on. You must hold on.
From the brief conversation on the phone, he realized that Ranran wasn’t at ho but had been waiting for him at the restaurant.
Because he had promised her that he would spend Valentine’s Day with her tonight.
