Mu Xingfeng brought water, tested the temperature, and carefully wiped An Ran with a towel, then took out so ointnt and applied it on her.
An Ran lay on the bed, feeling the ticulous care of the man. His warm, large hand, with the cool ointnt on his fingertips, glided over her wounds, making them feel not so painful anymore.
"Mu Xingfeng, Brother Yang said you achieved another rit?"
"Hmm," the man responded with a hum, clearly not interested in discussing further. After a mont, he said, "According to the informant, the mission target was supposed to appear this morning, but sothing changed midway. The target only appeared at noon, and it was already evening when we returned to the Guard Team."
This was the first ti Mu Xingfeng ntioned anything about the Guard Team to her. An Ran understood that he was explaining the reason for his lateness to their date.
Before An Ran could speak, the deep voice sounded again, "It won’t happen again."
"Hmm?" An Ran turned her face, not understanding what he ant for a mont.
Mu Xingfeng didn’t explain and continued applying the ointnt.
"Wifey, where’s my gift?"
Seeing that An Ran’s spirits had improved, Mu Xingfeng felt a playful urge arise.
He hadn’t forgotten that Xiao Xiao had given Lin Junyang a Valentine’s gift, and he was eagerly anticipating what gift his girl would have prepared for him.
"Ah? A gift?" An Ran’s face reddened at the ntion of the gift. Luckily, she was lying down, so Mu Xingfeng couldn’t see it.
However, thinking about her injuries, the Valentine’s gift plan really went down the drain.
"Mu Xingfeng, the gift...is gone." An Ran buried her head in the pillow, murmuring.
Mu Xingfeng’s movents paused for a mont. Then he continued as if nothing happened. Seeing the little girl unhappy, he thought about that scene in the alley. Her gift was probably destroyed by those guys.
In his heart, he picked out those guys for a beating again. How dare they ruin the gift his wife had carefully prepared for him.
"It’s okay. If it’s gone, it’s gone. Every Valentine’s Day from now on, you’ll have your husband with you. I’m very much looking forward to next Valentine’s gift."
Mu Xingfeng said casually and then magically produced a small box, holding it in front of An Ran, "Wifey, Happy Valentine’s Day."
"What, a gift?" An Ran looked at the small box in surprise, looking at the man with astonishnt. She hadn’t expected Mu Xingfeng to still think of preparing a Valentine’s gift while on a mission.
Mu Xingfeng helped her sit up, but the next second, An Ran scread, using her uninjured arm to cover herself.
She...was exposed.
"Oh co on, wifey, what haven’t I seen?"
Mu Xingfeng loved her coy deanor dearly. He directly opened the box and took out a necklace. The pendant on the necklace was a dazzling pink diamond.
The last ti he accompanied his elder sister to buy a ring, he rembered the girl’s eyes sparkling when she saw his sister trying on the rings. Won probably all liked these kinds of things, right?
Since then, he had been planning to give the little one such a gift. If it were possible, he would prefer to give her a ring. But considering that their wedding rings should be designed together, he chose the necklace first.
"Such a beautiful necklace," If it weren’t for one injured arm and having to use the other to cover herself, she would have liked to touch it.
Mu Xingfeng’s lips curved slightly. Seeing the little one so happy was better than receiving any gift himself.
"Here, let put it on you." Mu Xingfeng said as he put the necklace on An Ran, then stared intently at the person in front of him.
