An Ran leaned comfortably against Mu Xingfeng’s chest, listening to the two argue, occasionally comnting, "Mu Xingfeng, I feel like Brother Yang’s IQ is really not high."
"I think so too," Mu Xingfeng nodded in agreent. Arguing so intensely with Xiao Xiao, it’s hard to say if his IQ is low or if he’s just immature.
"So, from what you’re hearing, who seems to be winning?" An Ran asked.
"It’s about even, but Lin Junyang clearly lacks the presence that Xiao Xiao has," Mu Xingfeng replied.
While the two were arguing, Su Jin had already sorted out the things she bought.
"Jiang Zhuo, we won’t be eating this at today, put it in the freezer first. I’ll take these fruits to the kitchen to wash, and you can put these in the fridge."
Jiang Zhuo responded, carrying the items to the fridge.
Su Jin took the rest and headed to the kitchen.
Seeing others getting to work, Xiao Xiao felt embarrassed to keep arguing with Lin Junyang and ran to the kitchen.
"Sister, just leave it to ," Xiao Xiao stepped up to take the items from Su Jin.
Su Jin smiled, "You’re Miss Xiao, right? No need to be polite, I am Mr. Mu’s new servant, this is part of my job."
"What the hell, a servant?" Xiao Xiao looked Su Jin up and down in surprise, her eyes full of amazent. "Sister, I thought you were a female guard from Instructor Mu’s Guard Team."
Su Jin’s smile widened. Initially, she was quite resistant when Jiang Zhuo asked her to co out and work, but when she heard it was for the Guard Team family, she decided to give it a try.
Back in their village, there were people who worked as nannies and servants in big cities. They dressed glamorously when they returned, but suffered various types of disdain while working. Wealthy families often looked down on servants, treating them as less than human.
Although she was poor, she still had her dignity and pride as a mber of the Guard Team. If it ca to that, she would rather starve than endure such treatnt.
Unexpectedly, the people in the Mu Family were all so friendly, without a trace of discrimination towards her and Jiang Zhuo.
"I am a retired female guard," Su Jin said, taking out so greens and beginning to pick them.
"I knew it! My eyes didn’t lie. Sister, you know, the mont I saw you, I felt you exuded a heroic spirit. What is that saying? Dressed in a dashing and heroic manner, so impressive. Your aura is truly different." Xiao Xiao’s eyes sparkled upon hearing Su Jin was a retired female guard, as she had always admired them.
"No need for ’sister,’ just call Su Jin," Su Jin said, taking a liking to Xiao Xiao. A girl this pure and enthusiastic would surely be liked wherever she went.
"Rules schmules, Sister Su, I don’t care about that," Xiao Xiao waved her hand, rummaging through the bag of ingredients. "Hey, where’s that idiot Lin Junyang gone with the at he bought?"
"Do you an the beef shanks and whole chickens?" Su Jin hadn’t expected the groceries to be divided among people. She just thought there were too many and had put so unnecessary items in the fridge.
"Yes, exactly. He doesn’t think I won’t cook for him and threw them away, does he? What a wasteful idiot." Xiao Xiao started washing the ribs.
"No, they seed unsuitable for today’s al, so I put them in the fridge. That beef isn’t exactly for stewing or frying. I’ll marinate it and make braised beef when there’s ti," Su Jin explained.
