With her hands free, An Ran flexed her wrists and frowned deeply when she saw the wound on Shen Bin’s shoulder, "Brother Shen Qi, you’re not really going to let use this to remove the bullet, are you?"
She’d often seen scenes of bullets being removed with a dagger in TV shows and movies, but that was just for watching.
"Why? Can’t you?" Shen Bin asked An Ran indifferently.
He was sure the bullet was lodged on his bone because every movent was as painfully excruciating as being sliced into pieces. But having grown up with various injuries, a kid without parents didn’t have the right to cry out from pain, which he’d long grown accustod to.
Yet, when he heard Lu Yi say he could end up disabled for life, he was scared, not of becoming disabled himself, but of being unable to earn a living for his sister.
Finding a job now is so difficult, especially for soone with low education and no specialized skills.
If not for this, he wouldn’t have taken this path with Er Gui.
But if he really beca disabled, he’d be nothing but a burden to his sister, and he didn’t want to beco a burden.
Seeing An Ran hesitate, Shen Bin continued to ask, "Aren’t you all dical students?"
"We are dical students," An Ran shrugged, "but we’re just students. Using a dagger to remove a bullet is a bit too challenging for , but you could let him try. He’s our top surgical student."
An Ran pointed to Lu Yi.
Shen Bin hesitated and glanced at Qiao Er.
Qiao Er pulled out a pack of cigarettes from his pocket, only to find they’d been soaked by the rain, with water dripping from the entire pack.
Disgusted, Qiao Er threw the cigarettes to the ground.
In the next second, he picked them back up, pulled out a ruined cigarette, placed the tobacco in his palm, and inhaled deeply with it close to his nose.
Looking up, his eyes had a lazy, contented look, the kind of expression that suggested enjoynt. An Ran thought this Qiao Er must be a heavy smoker.
"If you want to do it, hurry up. Don’t waste ti for what’s coming next."
As he spoke, Qiao Er stood up, holding a gun in one hand and dragging the tobacco with the other. He strutted over to the group, seemingly ready to watch how they would use a dagger to remove a bullet.
With Qiao Er’s approval, Shen Bin took the knife from An Ran and cut Lu Yi’s ropes.
Lu Yi flexed his wrist, took the dagger, and examined Shen Bin’s wound seriously. When he t Shen Bin’s eyes, he saw a flash of viciousness in them. While Qiao Er still had his head down, sniffing his tobacco, Lu Yi threw a punch.
Qiao Er felt a sudden cold gust at his ear and got punched hard on the right cheek, making him stagger backward several steps, instinctively raising his gun.
Simultaneously with receiving Shen Bin’s signal, Lu Yi reacted quickly. As Qiao Er raised his gun, Lu Yi kicked up, knocking the gun right out of his hand.
The sudden turn of events enraged Qiao Er, making him curse, "Shen Bin, are you fuckin’ rebelling against ?"
By that ti, he was already fighting with Lu Yi, and An Ran, quick on her feet, picked up the fallen gun, "Stop, or I’ll shoot."
Qiao Er kicked Lu Yi away, smiling at An Ran, "Little girl, go ahead and shoot. But this gun isn’t a toy. Want to show you how to use it?"
Qiao Er approached An Ran confidently, knowing he hadn’t unlocked the safety of the gun, guessing a schoolgirl wouldn’t know how to shoot.
