"I really don't know what happened. When I opened the door, all I saw were two corpses." Card Master's expression remained calm as Boiling Blood, Nobus, and two Black-Armored n stood before him.

"You don't know?!" Nobus demanded, his face contorting into a ferocious scowl. "Then hand over the surveillance footage for this floor!"

"The surveillance equipnt broke a while ago and hasn't been repaired yet." Card Master picked up his glass cup and poured the unknown black liquid down his throat.

Because Card Master occupied the entire seventy-fifth floor, the video surveillance authority had been transferred to him from Tyron Tower.

Boiling Blood furrowed his brows so tightly they could crush a mosquito. "I heard Your Excellency also killed all the beast slaves you kept. Did they happen to break the surveillance caras?"

"That is my private matter, and there is no need to disclose it to you." Card Master's tone was flat, then he added with a hint of coldness, "Although I agreed to cooperate with you, do not think you can casually push around."

Highly displeased, Nobus took a step forward with his massive body, looking down at Card Master as if he wanted to do sothing.

However, Boiling Blood imdiately barked an order. "Nobus!"

Nobus backed away resentfully. Card Master remained indifferent, seemingly uncaring about the altercation. "When can I open my doors again? Several of my clients are growing impatient."

"Each client represents billions of Star Coins in business. Are you going to compensate for that?"

Boiling Blood stared at Card Master. All the evidence made it hard to prove this man had any connection with Kansa or Gelo; they did not even have any intersecting points in their past life experiences.

However, according to the surveillance in the escape passageway, "Gelo" had grabbed the Black-Robed Figure and headed straight for the seventy-fifth floor.

When he erged, "Gelo" was completely alone, which ant they absolutely had to investigate.

Yet for Card Master to monopolize an entire floor of the Tyron Tower, he naturally had so background. An administrator in the Inuit Hub had already vaguely expressed their dissatisfaction with this inquiry.

According to his guess, Card Master was likely soone that administrator had invested in. Otherwise, it would be extrely rare for an individual to accumulate enough wealth to purchase a Gene Chain Modulation Machine.

Due to a series of consecutive combat incidents, the managent of the Inuit Hub was highly displeased with their squad.

Even if the managent had not openly turned against them due to their own background, their attitude had deteriorated significantly, showing absolutely no intention of cooperating.

"Today was the final routine inquiry. Your Excellency is free to resu business," Boiling Blood explained coldly.

Hearing this, Nobus wanted to say sothing, but Boiling Blood raised a hand to cut him off. Upon receiving the news he wanted, Card Master did not show any joy; instead, a look of deep thought flashed across his eyes.

'Are these people trying to fish for a target?'

Based on his expectations, the lockdown should have lasted for at least a few more days. And that was assuming the person backing him knew him well enough not to suspect he was colluding with Kansa's group.

However, since the other party was no longer pestering him, Card Master could only think of one possibility: they were using him as bait.

Once that lunatic arrived, he would likely be ambushed by them. This made him sowhat nervous, terrified that the lunatic wouldn't realize it was a trap and would foolishly walk right into it.

However, he showed no obvious reaction on his face. He simply shrugged and stood up. "Then shall I see you out?"

Boiling Blood ignored him and walked straight out. The two Black-Armored n followed closely behind without saying a word.

After they left, Card Master was just about to open his Smart Terminal to warn that lunatic when his movents paused slightly. He looked at his Smart Terminal and narrowed his eyes.

Ultimately, he gave up on warning the lunatic. If the other party was cooperating with Tyron Tower, they could easily hack into his Smart Terminal, and he would simply be walking into a trap himself.

"Captain, those two Black-Armored n are still following us..." Nobus whispered.

"I know!" Boiling Blood scolded. "Can you report on the internal channel from now on!"

Even though Nobus had kept his voice low, those two definitely had sound wave capture devices on their black armor.

"Well, I'm not wearing my headset..." Nobus blinked, feeling wronged.

Boiling Blood glared viciously at Nobus. What an idiot. As the group stepped into the elevator, the atmosphere suddenly grew silent.

"Are you two going to continue following us?" Boiling Blood's voice echoed clearly in the empty elevator.

"We can cooperate!"

"We have a common enemy." The two Black-Armored n chid in one after the other. The boss behind them had ordered them to find out exactly what Saster was looking for.

Their thought process was very simple: by following Saster's people, they would definitely uncover so clues.

Boiling Blood furrowed his brows, feeling that these two Black-Armored n were extrely unreliable. However, they were still two B-Tier Lifeforms with formidable combat prowess. If they worked together, it would be a significant addition to their strength.

"We can cooperate, but Kansa is our target. You are not allowed to interfere," Boiling Blood laid down the rules in advance.

"No problem," the Black-Armored n readily agreed. Their mission objective no longer had anything to do with Kansa anyway.

"Happy cooperating." Boiling Blood squeezed out an ugly smile.

......

Sizzle, sizzle. On the silver iron plate in front of him, golden grease mingled with pink chunks of at. Colorful seasonings sprinkled on top released a tantalizing aroma.

"Please take your ti and enjoy..." The waitress wearing a low-cut uniform flashed a sweet smile, revealing her ample assets as she bowed slightly.

The Pink Snorlax Emblem on her chest clearly displayed the number "13".

The service staff here were not just interstellar humans; they generally assigned waitstaff of the sa race to serve their corresponding guests.

Li Yu politely returned the smile and raised his Smart Terminal, swiping it over the Pink Snorlax Emblem on her chest.

"Tip: Ten thousand Star Coins have been transferred."

The voice ringing out from her earpiece left Waitress 13 slightly stunned for a mont, before her face blossod with disbelief. Her rapid breathing made her cheeks flush a rosy hue.

Ten thousand Star Coins was at least a month's salary for her, yet soone had just handed it over directly as a tip.

She normally received tips on regular days, but they were always scattered amounts, rarely exceeding a hundred Star Coins a day.

Her eyes sparkled as she bowed once more. "Thank you, honorable guest."

She held her bow for an exceptionally long ti, pressing her hands together in an attempt to squeeze a certain area together, as if only such a devout attitude could properly express her gratitude.

"This is my contact information. You can reach out after I get off work..." A shy smile bead on her face as she left behind a folded piece of paper.

Li Yu gave a subtle nod without saying a word, and she walked away with a slight spring in her step.

"Star Coins really are a wonderful thing..." Li Yu sighed softly. He glanced at the note on the table, didn't bother opening it, and lightly brushed it into the trash can.

He was using a bank account provided by Mangu. Money in the Black Hole Bank couldn't be spent through legitimate channels, so he had asked Mangu for a standard Interstellar United Bank account. There wasn't much in it, just a few hundred thousand Star Coins.

Peyton watched all of this indifferently. He looked as though he had attained enlightennt on the universe's ultimate truths; no external objects could possibly sway his emotions.

A puddle of white liquid slithered away from beneath Li Yu's feet, quickly blending into the surrounding environnt. Without drawing anyone's attention, it slipped into the elevator.

"The flavor is actually quite nice..." Li Yu took a couple of bites, then looked at Peyton's vacant gaze and asked, "Are you not going to eat?"

Peyton shook his head. Li Yu shrugged and lowered his head to continue savoring the al.

Up on the seventy-fifth floor, Card Master stood before the floor-to-ceiling windows, his back looking weathered and lancholic.

"Your Excellency absolutely shouldn't do anything drastic, otherwise who would I find to modulate my Gene Chain..." The voice suddenly ringing out behind him made Card Master flinch slightly, secretly cursing himself a couple of tis.

To actually fall into a daze and ignore the changes in his surrounding environnt was extrely dangerous.

He turned around and saw a writhing puddle of white liquid slowly assembling itself into a suit of humanoid armor. The voice had co precisely from within it.

And this voice was completely familiar to him. It belonged to none other than that lunatic!

"They are waiting for you to show up!" Card Master said in a low voice.

"I know..." The separated piece of the Titan Colonization Armor spoke up. Acting just like a real person, it sat down on the sofa and even crossed its legs, causing Card Master's eyelids to twitch wildly.

"Didn't I avoid detection from them?"

Card Master stared at the humanoid armor, completely unable to figure out what kind of contraption it was.

"I'm going to have soone co over in a bit to modulate the Gene Chain. Just cooperate with him."

Hearing this, Card Master instantly frowned. Li Yu's casual tone made it sound as if modulating a Gene Chain was as simple as urinating and mixing with mud.

Even urinating and mixing with mud wasn't sothing every interstellar race was capable of; it still had a threshold.

He couldn't help but probe, "Modulating a Gene Chain is an extrely complex process. It's not sothing you can accomplish just by finding so random person off the street."

Naturally, he knew Li Yu couldn't have literally pulled just anyone off the street. However, people capable of modulating a dual-attribute B-grade Gene Chain were incredibly rare. Why would one of them be working for this lunatic?

'Could it be... they were also coerced?'

"Relax, he can absolutely modulate it," Li Yu replied dismissively, not wanting to continue on this topic. Instead, he asked, "The only issue is whether he will be harassed by those people."

This flippant attitude made Card Master feel even more insulted. So he wasn't good enough? Yet the other party could just randomly find soone who was?

"As long as there's nothing wrong with his identity, I can ensure he leaves safely." Card Master was at least confident in that regard.

"That works..." Upon confirming this, the chanical armor slowly began to lt away. Card Master imdiately spoke with a hint of urgency, "After this matter is settled, you cannot continue to threaten ."

"Of course. I am a man who honors his word above all else."

The liquid slipped back out through the cracks in the doors and windows, blending almost perfectly into the surrounding environnt without leaving a single trace.

"You can go now," Li Yu said, looking up at Peyton.

Peyton's gaze lit up slightly. He stood up imdiately and walked straight toward the elevator, seemingly impatient to begin.

Li Yu stared suspiciously at Peyton's back. Was this guy really that passionate about modulating a Gene Chain?

After a mont of thought, the returning puddle of liquid swiftly sought out Peyton and quietly attached itself to his clothes.

Picking up a napkin to wipe his mouth, Li Yu flashed a warm smile at Waitress 13 not far away, and then left the restaurant under her expectant gaze.

He turned and entered the restroom. The fascinating thing about interstellar restrooms was that, in order to accommodate the excretion needs of various races, all sorts of specialized equipnt took up a massive amount of space.

Slender silver pipes, black tallic holes, cone-shaped hooks, and the like truly broadened Li Yu's horizons.

Ding!

The elevator doors opened, and Peyton walked out with his usual indifference. Card Master was already waiting, looking Peyton up and down.

With his remarkably ordinary appearance, vacant eyes, and seemingly weak limbs, he looked like a slacker who had completely given up on life.

"Are you the one...?" Card Master couldn't help but inject a hint of skepticism into his tone. When it ca to his field of expertise, he definitely had the right to voice his opinion.

No matter how you looked at it... this guy did not seem like a Genetic Modulator.

"Yes." Peyton's reaction was flat. His gaze didn't linger on Card Master for even half a second as he walked straight inside.

Card Master's eyelids twitched. Suppressing the rising anger in his heart, he casually glanced into the distance before following Peyton inside.

At the end of the tal corridor, the air rippled, and two armored figures materialized.

"That guy looks unfamiliar. Is he our target?" Harry frowned. He glanced beside him and spoke, a bit speechless, "You don't need to stand so far away from . I was being controlled back then. It's not like I did it on purpose."

"Haha..." The other person let out a few awkward laughs. "Harry... you misunderstand."

He then hurriedly changed the subject. "Let's report to the Captain first and see what he says."

Although he said that, he made no motion to move closer. Harry's sudden backstabbing of a teammate last ti had utterly terrified him.

Even though the misunderstanding was cleared up afterward and Boiling Blood didn't dwell on it, he still harbored so lingering fear.

......

Stepping into the laboratory, Peyton acted more like the owner of the place, frowning as he looked around, seemingly a bit dissatisfied.

"Gubol Cell Extractor, High Molecule Gene Fusion Machine... Why are these all older models..."

Peyton furrowed his brows deeply. "Like this Liquid Separation Machine—it's already proven to have a one-in-ten-thousand chance of damaging the genetic structure. Why are you still using it?"

He shook his head. Though he didn't explicitly utter any vulgar words, his look of utter disgust was far too obvious.

Card Master took a deep breath. His icy glare looked like a chunk of ice that had just broken off a cot, and his tightly clenched fists couldn't stop trembling.

For a Genetic Modulator, their equipnt setup was their one true love. Now, not only did he have to hand it over for soone else to toy with, but he also had to endure their harsh critique. How could he possibly tolerate this?!

'He actually endured all that?' Peyton sighed inwardly, then said reluctantly, "Forget it, I suppose this will have to do."

"Blue Diamond Heart-shaped Grass Solution, Red Crimson Serrated Flower Solution..." Peyton rattled off dozens of solution nas in a single breath before finally drawing out his words, "You have all of these here, right?"

"You didn't prepare them yourselves?" Card Master suppressed the raging fire in his heart.

"No, he told to use yours," Peyton replied, shaking his head.

"Damn it all..." Card Master nearly shattered his teeth from grinding them so hard, wanting nothing more than to punch this abominable fellow to death.

However, a faint glimr of anticipation seed to hide within Peyton's eyes, causing the nearly out-of-control Card Master to suddenly calm down.

'Wait!'

'That lunatic is a smart person who prefers proceeding step by step. Why would he send soone like this over?'

'It's a trap!'

Card Master sneered inwardly and smoothed out his mood. "I have all the materials here. Feel free to use them."

Peyton displayed an obvious look of disappointnt, which only solidified Card Master's judgnt. It definitely was a trap! He absolutely could not be easily fooled. He wanted to see exactly what this group was scheming to do!
