After a brief outburst of Telekinesis, Mo Duo slowly opened her eyes and descended from mid-air, silently comprehending her newly acquired power.
She gently raised her hand. Telekinesis surged forth, causing the chanical parts in the ship cabin to roar incessantly. tal fragnts scattered in all directions, kicking up a thick cloud of dust.
Li Yu jumped in fright and hurriedly stopped her. "Careful now, don't tear this warship apart."
This vessel had already changed hands an unknown number of tis, and its internal structure was far from stable. Caught in the wake of Mo Duo's surging Telekinesis just now, quite a few more tal parts had shaken loose.
Li Yu could not even identify which parts belonged to what section of which original ship.
"I know," Mo Duo replied in a flat tone, glancing at Li Yu and Sinai standing together.
Acting like a little girl who had just received a novel toy, she moved her hands, levitating nurous tal parts from the floor. They converged into a flowing stream that orbited her body.
Sinai was still reeling from the shock. Although her coat was rather loose, it failed to conceal her ample assets, which heaved dramatically with her light, ragged breathing.
Unfortunately, Peyton was far from a normal man. In his eyes, the only difference between Sinai and a slab of at was the fact that she could move.
anwhile, Hunter was dizzy and stumbling, yet to fully recover his senses. As for Li Yu, he considered himself an absolute gentleman and would never stoop to such voyeuristic behavior.
What a pity that such a beautiful sight could only be appreciated by Claptrap, who had taken over the entire warship's surveillance.
"No side effects, no ability adaptation period needed, and a technological level surpassing even those fossils at the Imperial Research Institute... How is this possible?" Peyton muttered to himself, his gaze gradually turning fervent.
"Can you give one?" he asked, looking at Li Yu as if he had been starved for centuries.
Li Yu pondered for a mont and did not refuse. He was quite curious to see exactly what Peyton could discover from it.
He handed a Blue Little Pill to Peyton. Pinching it between his fingers, Peyton tossed it into his mouth and swallowed it whole.
He actually ate it... Li Yu had assud Peyton would conduct proper scientific research, never expecting him to test it on his own body.
Curiosity piqued, he stared intently at Peyton, eager to see what kind of ability this man—who had already surpassed ninety-nine point nine-nine-nine percent of all interstellar races the mont he was born—could possibly awaken.
Absolutely nothing happened to Peyton. He stood completely frozen, displaying his signature empty Peyton's Gaze.
Hunter shook his head, shooting a covert glare at Mo Duo before turning to gnash his teeth at Li Yu. He had just caught a glimpse of Li Yu rescuing Sinai earlier.
With Li Yu's speed, he definitely could have turned around to save him too, but the bastard had done nothing. It was utterly detestable.
However, seeing Peyton stand there motionless after swallowing the Blue Little Pill, Hunter suddenly burst into laughter. "Don't tell he's so unlucky that he didn't awaken a single ability."
"Bleurgh!" Suddenly, Peyton opened his mouth and regurgitated the Blue Little Pill. The pill remained completely intact, showing no signs of digestion.
"Fuck, that's disgusting," Hunter cursed, startled by the sudden action.
"What the hell is this thing? It actually tried to forcefully alter my genetic structure just now! That is the culmination of several epochs of the Mozambique family's accumulation!" Peyton's gaze could no longer be described as rely fervent; he looked ready to devour Li Yu alive.
The genes of these Great Interstellar Nobles were the result of countless ages of refinent. Even if awakening a powerful ability was extrely difficult, it was fundantally different.
For them, it was simply a matter of spending ten thousand or even a hundred thousand years on targeted research. Sooner or later, they would yield results.
Their genes had undergone countless modulations and harbored various dormant genetic abilities. They only needed to reach a specific point in ti and be supplied with enough energy to activate.
Furthermore, those intricately interlocked genetic structures were virtually impossible for external forces to alter. Yet, just monts ago, this tiny Blue Little Pill had actively attempted to rewrite his genes.
In fact, if he had not thrown it up in ti, the modification would have already been completed.
Peyton spoke incredibly fast, a clear testant to his agitation. "I can analyze so of the materials. It seems to contain secretions produced by female beings during reproduction, but sothing like that alone is absolutely insufficient to alter my genes."
Li Yu gave him a strange look, staring pointedly at Peyton's stomach. "Is that a stomach, or a biological scanner?"
Peyton ignored Li Yu's question, displaying a highly uncharacteristic sense of anxiety. "Did you manufacture this? What kind of power is hidden inside it?"
"You could say that..." Li Yu paused, then continued, "The process isn't that complicated. First you do this... then you do that... and ta-da, it's done."
Peyton frowned, naturally not believing a word of Li Yu's nonsense. After calming down, he refrained from pressing the issue further.
There was no way Li Yu would casually reveal such highly classified information. However, as long as he stuck by his side, he would eventually figure out exactly what was going on.
Suddenly, Peyton felt that his previously gray and bleak world had beco bright once again.
Peyton's silence, however, aroused Li Yu's vigilance. He had never once underestimated this Great Interstellar Noble.
What if the guy sneaked into his room in the middle of the night to draw his blood? That would be terrifying.
Thump! Thump! Thump!
A chaotic flurry of footsteps rang out. Li Ping led the freshly cleaned slaves into the upper ship cabin. Most of them were wrapped in dical bandages to varying degrees.
So were unable to walk on their own and had to be supported by others. Due to long-term malnutrition, every single one of them was severely emaciated.
The twenty-eight individuals could be roughly divided into five interstellar races, with interstellar humans being the most nurous, accounting for eight of them.
Their faces bore expressions of absolute fanaticism and reverence. Without making a sound, their eyes locked tightly onto that man before them.
"Your Excellency, they have all been cleaned up," Li Ping reported from the very front. As the number one lackey, his status was absolutely irreplaceable.
Li Yu nodded and pulled out a handful of Blue Little Pills. He had originally obtained fifty-six pills. After Li Yu, Mo Duo, Hunter, and Li Ping took one each, and one was given to Peyton, he now had fifty-one pills left.
Taking out twenty-eight pills, Li Yu handed them to Li Ping. "Have them swallow these."
"Yes..." Li Ping moved efficiently, distributing the Blue Little Pills one by one. Those who received the pills swallowed them imdiately without the slightest hesitation.
Even if these were deadly poisons, they would not refuse, simply because they were a gift from Li Yu.
As the Blue Little Pills were ingested, a dazzling array of lights and an assortnt of auras erupted throughout the cabin.
No one could be certain exactly how many types of abilities existed in the universe. The Star Glory Empire alone had millions of them on record.
Among these, about seventy-five percent were completely useless—abilities like shooting water out of one's nose or breathing through one's ears.
In other words, the natural probability of awakening a genuinely useful ability was only around twenty-five percent.
Whoosh! An Athystian was suddenly engulfed in flas, their scorching aura causing the cabin's temperature to climb rapidly.
Claptrap quickly controlled the ventilation ducts, releasing a blast of cold air to bring the temperature back down.
One person's eyes glowed with a blinding white light, another's body twisted and stretched out of proportion, while yet another was covered in crackling electric arcs...
Upon rough estimation, Li Yu was pleasantly surprised to discover that the number of people who had awakened powerful abilities was far from small.
'Wait a minute...' Li Yu suddenly realized sothing. His own awakened Energy Manipulation was an undeniably top-tier ability.
Li Ping's Transformation Ability was also quite decent, granting him respectable combat prowess. Although Mo Duo's Telekinesis was fairly standard, when paired with her trendous ntal Power, she could unleash devastating force.
In other words, out of everyone, only that useless Hunter had awakened an utterly garbage ability.
'Could it be that the probability of awakening a powerful ability from Compound V is actually extrely high, and Hunter just has phenonally terrible luck?'
Li Yu pondered to himself, glancing at Hunter who was watching the scene with eager, envious eyes. The poor guy was probably hoping for more unlucky bastards to appear, just to comfort his fragile soul.
As ti passed, the commotion in the cabin gradually subsided. Feeling the newfound power coursing through their bodies, their reverence and fanaticism for Li Yu deepened even further.
"Li Ping, go tally up everyone's abilities and give a summary," Li Yu ordered. He quickly added a warning, "And don't test those abilities in here. Go outside."
Li Ping acknowledged the command and led the group out of the cabin, heading to a designated training ground to test their powers.
"Telekinesis is... a passable ability, I suppose," Hunter said to Mo Duo in a sour-grape tone, as the two exchanged opinions on the topic of abilities.
Hunter proudly declared that there were no useless abilities, only useless users. Unfazed, Mo Duo casually replied that she would love to see just how powerful Hunter really was.
Hunter imdiately admitted defeat. A profound sense of sorrow welled up in his heart, leaving him sighing repeatedly in despair.
Li Yu stood to the side, grinning from ear to ear, only to receive a vicious glare from Hunter.
Buzz—
His Smart Terminal vibrated. Li Yu glanced at it and saw a video call request from Kansa. Ever since his return, the two had frequently video-called to maintain their relationship.
He answered the call, and a Holographic Screen popped up. Kansa's modest figure appeared, dressed in a sharp purple suit. He looked remarkably revitalized.
"Greetings..." Kansa said respectfully. Even though his status was completely different now, he dared not cross any lines with Li Yu. This wasn't rely due to the Thought Seal.
It was primarily because everything he had achieved up to this point was entirely built upon the plans and strategies Li Yu had provided.
Li Yu nodded and teased, "You're finally starting to look like a real big shot."
"You are the true big shot here," Kansa replied with a bitter smile. He then shifted to business. "I mainly initiated this call to inform you of two things."
"The Athyst High Command has inquired about the Athyst Core several tis now. Figuring the ti was right, I dropped a hint that if they wanted the core, they would have to pay for it."
"They haven't contacted recently, so they're likely discussing their next move."
This was all part of the prearranged plan. The Athyst Core could only realize its maximum potential within the Athyst Civilization, aning they were the only ones willing to pay the absolute highest price for it.
"It seems your recent operations have been quite successful. To think they still haven't violently turned on you," Li Yu chuckled.
In the beginning, Kansa's sole value to the Athyst Civilization lay in his knowledge of the Athyst Core's whereabouts.
And "whereabouts" certainly did not imply the principle of having to purchase it.
Taking it by force was far more aligned with the Athyst Civilization's typical style.
Kansa nodded in agreent. "Exactly. They can't make a move against . For one, the Athyst Core truly isn't in my hands. Additionally, several prominent figures among the Non-Howorld Athystians have been maintaining close ties with lately."
"Keep posted if you hear anything," Li Yu instructed, then asked, "And the second thing?"
"Prince Saster seems to be in close contact with Dark Star recently," Kansa reported carefully.
Li Yu instantly narrowed his eyes, a bad premonition welling up inside him. To think those two had actually grouped up.
Back then, Dark Star and the Pathos Fleet had violently co to blows. Even though it was entirely due to Li Yu's ddling, he refused to believe the two didn't harbor so lingering grudges.
'Could it be... because of ?' Li Yu suddenly had a thought. The enemy of my enemy is my friend, and as it happened, both of them shared a common enemy: Li Yu himself.
That would naturally form the foundation for their communication and cooperation.
Saster wanted to recover the Athyst Core, while Dark Star's initial curiosity toward Li Yu had long since devolved into a deeply personal vendetta, leaving him dead set on killing Li Yu.
During the last incident at the Inuit Hub, Li Yu had fully prepared himself for a final showdown with Dark Star, yet the man surprisingly never showed up.
He had almost thought Dark Star had laid down his butcher's knife, achieved instant enlightennt, and given up on hunting him down.
Now, however, it seed more likely that no one had inford Dark Star about his suspected presence at the Inuit Hub back then.
Kansa speculated, "Their etings haven't been concealed in the slightest. The Athyst High Command is fully aware of them. It seems to be Saster's way of intimidating the Athyst leadership."
"Keep a very close eye on those two," Li Yu urged Kansa to stay vigilant. After chatting for a bit longer and guiding Kansa on his upcoming action plans, he hung up the call.
Although those two had joined forces, Li Yu wasn't overly concerned for the ti being.
He was about to head into the territory of the Star Glory Empire. Neither the Pathos Fleet nor an A-rank Marauder like Dark Star could casually waltz into the Star Glory Empire's domain.
While he had been talking with Kansa, Li Ping had mostly finished compiling the statistics on the newly awakened abilities.
The vast majority were fairly conventional abilities. Elental control was the most common, accounting for about fourteen people. There were also six useless abilities—well, perhaps not completely useless.
For example, breathing underwater. One could barely consider that useful... probably...
Among the group, three abilities warranted special attention. However, Li Ping didn't know what they were, and even the users themselves were clueless.
"Quantum Banishnt, Mist Energy, Life Revival." Peyton, functioning perfectly as a human appraisal device, once again played a crucial role.
Quantum Banishnt, true to its na, allowed the user to banish a target lifeform into a quantum state. If developed to an advanced stage, the user could even transform themselves into a quantum state.
Mist Energy was quite unique; the user could transform their body into an ethereal, mist-like Energy Body to launch energy-based attacks.
Life Revival was straightforward and potent, focusing entirely on healing and restoring lifeforms.
These three were considered to have the greatest potential among the batch. Li Yu personally nad them the trio of Quantum, Energy, and Life.
The three brothers ca from entirely different races: Quantum was a Dwarf, Energy was an interstellar human, and Life was a Sheep-man with two distinct horns on his head.
The trio essentially ford Li Yu's personal Guard Corps. As for the rest with standard abilities, they were organized into four squads, each led by a designated Captain.
Regardless of what kind of ability they possessed, everyone had a bright future ahead of them!
Newly awakened abilities rarely possessed overwhelming power right off the bat. They required continuous developnt, and sotis, intense ntal tempering.
However, none of that was an issue. With a single command from Li Yu, these people would forfeit food and sleep just to push their limits. Given enough ti, this would inevitably beco a terrifyingly powerful force.
Hunter didn't say a word, but his eyes were practically glowing green with envy. Only now did he realize that even among this group of slaves, he was stuck dead last at the bottom of the barrel.
