Coming out of the Star Casting Palace, Max was still in a low mood, his eyes unfocused, not knowing what he was thinking, aimlessly following Li Yu.
Although he was transferred back to the Military by Aisel, exactly where he would serve was still up for discussion.
Li Yu ignored him, minding his own business and returning to the Base.
The Base had undergone a huge transformation. The large rocky area around it had been transford into a Desert, entirely covered in Star Sand that shimred with a luminescent glow, costing a hefty sum of Star Coins.
"Why did I follow you back here..." Max finally ca to his senses, sowhat puzzled as he looked around at the large expanse of Star Sand.
"Very few people transform their land into a Desert. A personal quirk?"
Except for not being able to build houses, there weren't many restrictions on the complintary usage land around the Base.
However, apart from certain specific needs, a Desert terrain was neither visually pleasing nor suitable for recreation, so basically no one would choose to do this.
In the Star Sand Desert, a small sand dune abruptly bulged up, inconspicuous in the entire Desert, moving slowly toward Li Yu.
Bang!
The sand dune burst open, and a massive dark shadow darted out, causing Max to instinctively tense up.
Bang! Li Yu raised a single hand, blocking the suddenly pouncing Sand Worm. This guy had grown thicker, its diater already reaching two ters and its length around ten ters. It could no longer be kept indoors and had to be placed outside.
The Sand Worm resembled a boneless worm with only a gaping maw. Its dense, terrifying teeth sent chills down one's spine. At this mont,
The Sand Worm opened its mouth wide, its teeth continuously writhing as it welcod Li Yu in its own way.
"So disgusting, this is your pet? Such heavy tastes." Max shuddered all over, unable to help but step back a few paces.
Sensing the vague thoughts in the Sand Worm's mind, Li Yu had black lines all over his face. He had no desire to stick his head in for it to suck on.
After he stroked its wrinkled skin a few tis, the Sand Worm left pitifully, tumbling underground to vent its dissatisfaction.
Li Yu shot him a sideways glance. "If it weren't for just now, you'd probably still be sitting idly in the Talent Support and Cultivation Association. Not only did you not thank , you actually complained about ."
Max's expression stiffened, his eyes darting around as if he hadn't heard that sentence. Under Li Yu's dead fish-eye stare, he barely managed to squeeze out a "Thank you."
Li Yu shook his head. "We leave tomorrow. Rember to gather. If you delay, no one will wait for you."
"Okay." After Max said thank you, his entire body was sowhat stiff, wishing he could leave here imdiately.
He didn't know what was wrong with him just now, actually following Li Yu back inexplicably.
Entering the Base, Li Yu walked straight into the Basent. In the Laboratory, a red-haired ape was strapped to a tal table, struggling constantly and letting out mournful cries.
Crack! The sound of bone fracturing ca from its chest, and hideous bone claws tore through. A small Xenomorph crawled out, emitting a low hiss.
Peyton imdiately picked it up, holding it in his hands for careful observation while recording a large amount of data.
In a transparent glass pod on the other side, the Alien Queen was obediently laying eggs. Sensing Li Yu's arrival, she rested her head against the glass.
Li Yu walked over and stroked her through the glass, and the Alien Queen went back to laying eggs in satisfaction.
Only then did Peyton notice Li Yu's arrival. Li Yu held the highest Authority for this Base. Others needed Peyton's permission to enter, but Li Yu didn't.
"A rare, miraculous creature..." Peyton sighed, a large amount of data appearing on the screen.
"Rapidly Absorb the Host's genetic advantages to optimize itself, it is simply born for slaughter..."
Peyton provided a massive amount of data, making Li Yu's head ache. Summarized in one sentence, it was just: "Is this a creature from an Alternate Dinsion?"
"That's right..." Li Yu thought for a mont, then added, "The Sand Worm outside is too."
"Miraculous creatures..." Peyton felt he truly hadn't followed the wrong person.
"Do they have high-end potential?" Li Yu asked. This was his main purpose for having Peyton research them.
"Their potential isn't very high..." Peyton shook his head, pointing at the experintal data. "Although they can extract the Host's superior Genes to evolve, they must first parasitize the Host to do so."
"The problem is that powerful creatures have very strong self-defense chanisms in their bodies, and the primitive Xenomorphs you call Facehuggers are very weak and can easily be directly annihilated internally."
Peyton pointed out the Xenomorph's flaws, well-reasoned and supported by evidence. Li Yu wasn't surprised; he had considered this issue before.
Many high-level lifeforms controlled Elental Power, their bodies filled with imnse Energy. Facehuggers simply couldn't breach them.
"If that Alien Queen could consolidate evolutionary Genes and pass them on to the next generation, it would be a perfect creature." Peyton's eyes held a certain expectation and longing, but he imdiately shook his head in regret:
"Such a creature is a provocation to the Universe; it's impossible to evolve naturally."
Hearing Peyton's words, Li Yu's hair almost stood on end. Isn't that exactly the Zerg?
There was still a big difference between Xenomorphs and the Zerg. The Alien Queen could only spawn Facehuggers, and the advantageous Genes the Facehuggers absorbed could only benefit themselves and couldn't feed back to the Queen.
The Zerg, however, were different. That was a true Natural Disaster, and the perfect creature in Peyton's words.
"Keep researching and see if there is a possibility of enhancent," Li Yu instructed. Peyton nodded. This period of ti was truly the best ti of his life, with various endlessly erging creatures for him to study.
The Sand Worm that could produce ntal Supplents, and this Xenomorph that could evolve—it was just too wonderful!
Returning to his room, he tossed the [Prism Energy Shield – Mayfly Type] and the [Reverse-Flash Personal Thruster] to the [Titan Colonization Armor].
These two items had extrely high technological content, and the [Titan Colonization Armor] would need so ti to finish analyzing them.
...
The next day, at Shipyard 432, an expressionless Edwin, a slightly anxious Max, and the white-haired Bart were all looking at the entrance of the Shipyard, seeming to be waiting for soone.
Max couldn't hold it back any longer and shouted, "Damn it, this Bastard, telling us not to be late yesterday while he himself doesn't care at all."
"The agreed ti was seven, and now it's eight. Where is he!?"
"He's probably been delayed by sothing," Bart pondered.
"Delayed by sothing?" Max had a 'seeing a ghost' expression. Didn't this Bart dislike Li Yu before? Why is he making excuses for him now?
In truth, Li Yu's willingness to accept the mandatory conscription drastically changed Bart's impression of him.
"I'm not waiting anymore. He said it himself yesterday, latecors won't be waited for!" Max was fuming with resentnt and turned to leave.
Unfortunately, neither Edwin nor Bart moved. Edwin said indifferently, "He is the person in charge of this mission. We can do without anyone else, but we can't do without him."
Max's face turned red from being stifled. The conflict with Edwin from last ti hadn't been resolved yet, and now being choked off again made him even more depressed.
"He's here..." Bart suddenly spoke. The three looked toward the Shipyard entrance, even though people were coming and going here.
They still spotted the leisurely Li Yu, followed by soone with a respectful expression.
"You guys arrived quite early," Li Yu said with a hint of surprise.
"It's you who is too late!" Max, with nowhere to vent his anger, sneered, "You weren't attacked on the way, were you? Oh... I forgot, this is Return Star, no one dares to use force."
Li Yu pondered for a mont and said sowhat apologetically, "I was late."
Max's expression softened slightly, but before he could speak, he heard Li Yu continue, "Mainly because the milk the Cook made was too delicious. I feel like sothing is missing if I don't drink it for a day, so I was delayed for a while."
"Drinking milk!?" Max widened his eyes, unable to hold back any longer, jumping up and down with rage.
Li Yu dug his ear, ignoring the shouting Max, and said to the other two, "Since everyone is here, let's depart."
"Who is he?" Edwin asked, looking at the person behind Li Yu.
Li Yu casually explained, "My Subordinate, you can call him Life. I thought he might be useful, so I brought him along."
Edwin nodded and said no more.
For this mission, they took a Spaceship from the Talent Support and Cultivation Association. Normal expenses incurred during the journey would be reimbursed.
Traveling through the Stargate near Return Star to the Vitel Star System wouldn't take too long.
This Spaceship was just an ordinary Leap Star-Class Spaceship, its configurations standard, far inferior to the Blazing Light Starship.
There was also a squad of soldiers on board, Edwin's personal guards, barely making up a centurion squad so as not to be laughed at.
After all, Klein had far too few people she could use; she couldn't even put together a small squad.
The Spaceship started, following regional broadcasts, slowly entering the Space Routes.
"This mission will probably be a bit troubleso..." Edwin stood before the porthole, looking out at the boundless Starry Sky.
"Oh? Is there danger?" Li Yu raised an eyebrow slightly.
"Potential danger is only one aspect." Edwin shook his head. "More importantly, because of the Silver Snake rcenary Group, the rmaid Princess's royal guards have divergent attitudes toward Princess Klein."
"I'm afraid we won't be welco."
"What about the rmaid Princess herself? Is she displeased with Klein too?" Li Yu rubbed his chin, recalling sothing Klein gave him.
"I don't know..." Edwin wasn't very clear on this either, and he couldn't directly ask Klein.
"We'll just wait and see..." A lustrous blue light enveloped them, and they entered the Stargate.
The interstellar entertainnt industry was actually highly developed. There was no lack of material enjoynt, so ntal needs naturally followed suit.
Videos, songs, dramas, literature, and other cultural industries made the characteristics of each Civilization more diverse and colorful.
On Smart Terminals and ho terminal pay channels, one could see many different entertainnt programs. As long as one was of age, one could even watch adult content from many Civilizations.
Although Li Yu didn't watch much, the daily lives of many Interstellar Citizens were spent watching TV. Just like Hunter, when he had nothing to do, he would kill ti day after day this way.
After all, given the level of developnt of many Civilizations, most Citizens no longer needed to work and just needed to live like parasites, unless they desired a higher Status and a better life.
Tambus Hub Stargate. Li Yu and the others didn't stop here, heading straight for the Vitel Star System.
To be selected by the rmaid Princess as one of her tour star systems, the Vitel Star System was quite prosperous and not far from the Tambus hub.
In Warp Mode, they could arrive in less than a day.
"Captain Kieg, we are from the Return Star Talent Support and Cultivation Association, ordered to execute the rmaid Princess's protection mission."
Edwin communicated with a shark-man via the Spaceship screen. Half of his dorsal fin was chopped off, making him look incredibly fierce.
"Return Star Talent Support and Cultivation Association?" Kieg wore a disdainful expression. "Did Klein send you again?"
Hearing his words, Edwin frowned slightly and said in a deep voice, "It is by the order of Her Highness Princess Klein."
"Oh..." Kieg seed not to have heard Edwin's emphasized words 'Her Highness' and sneered, "You should go back. We don't need the help of cowards."
Edwin narrowed his eyes slightly, Max wore an expression of watching a good show, Bart wiped his Long Saber, and Li Yu watched, Calm and Composed.
"What does Your Excellency an?" Edwin's voice turned cold.
"What do I an?" Kieg crossed his arms, his attitude abrasive. "You know exactly what I an."
"We would rather work a bit harder ourselves than have soone flee right before the battle again, catching us Caught off guard."
After saying this, Kieg directly hung up the communication, giving Edwin no chance to speak.
"Such a terrible attitude. It seems they are truly angry." Li Yu didn't mind Kieg's attitude, as it wasn't aid at him anyway.
"Did that Silver Snake rcenary Group not receive any punishnt?" he asked curiously.
"They are not a local rcenary Corps of Return Star; they are a Five-Star rcenary Corps that takes employnt from Major Civilizations. The ones protecting the rmaid Princess this ti were just a detachnt of theirs, and now they have completely withdrawn." Max explained, sowhat resentful:
"Although the Interstellar Network is full of curses against them right now, there is no substantive impact."
Although Klein had always been seen as a Fat Sheep, those who could be friends with her were not small rcenary Corps.
A Five-Star rcenary Corps had A-Tier Lifeforms holding the fort and no less than three thousand warships.
Li Yu pondered, "A Five-Star rcenary Corps, even a detachnt, how could they retreat without fighting? It should sowhat affect their reputation, right?"
"This is also one of the many questions. The explanation given by the Silver Snake rcenary Group is that they didn't retreat without fighting, but rather received an internal deploynt request from the rmaid Princess's royal guards." Max knew this very well; his intense online argunts were no joke.
"However, the Silver Snake rcenary Group has no substantive evidence to prove their claim, including the deploynt order."
"Such orders would be archived on personal Smart Terminals and basically cannot be erased, so not many people believe the Silver Snake rcenary Group's claim."
"Interesting..." Li Yu's eyes flashed, and he continued asking, "What about the identities of the assassins? Have they been investigated?"
Edwin took over the conversation: "After the assassination failed, they committed suicide on the spot. No clues could be found from their faces, fingerprints, or DNA."
Max imdiately added, "This is different from most assassinations targeting the rmaid Princess. It was organized, preditated, and planned... the forces involved behind it shouldn't be small."
