Hunter was still a bit confused about the situation. How had things deteriorated rapidly so suddenly? His Adam's apple bobbed as his mind raced, even though he couldn't quite grasp what was happening at the mont.
But one thing was certain: they could not kill Siege. Otherwise, they truly wouldn't make it out of here alive.
Hunter hesitated to speak. Although he wanted to advise against it, he couldn't do so when Li Yu's montum was at its peak. Otherwise, it wouldn't be advice; it would be a slap to Li Yu's face.
He shot a aningful glance at Mo Duo, silently urging her to quickly persuade her man.
Mo Duo understood what Hunter ant, but she could not comprehend the bizarre emotions churning within him.
"Mr. Li Yu, there is no need to be on the brink of war like this..."
Suddenly, a voice echoed through the area, originating from so unknown source.
At the sa ti, accompanied by a soft chi, the Elevator doors opened on the 256th floor.
This was the top floor of Tyron Tower. There was only one person residing here, and that was the general manager of the Tyron Chamber of Comrce's Heavenly Desolation Star branch.
Although the title of general manager gave Li Yu a baffling sense of deja vu.
It did not hinder the man's overwhelming authority, which allowed him to mobilize all the forces of the Tyron Chamber of Comrce on Heavenly Desolation Star.
If the Archon was the overt local tyrant of Heavenly Desolation Star, then calling this individual the underground emperor would not be an exaggeration.
This was not a place ordinary people could access. The guards at the entrance exuded a forbidding aura that warned strangers to stay away.
They wore black Personal Combat Armor with golden Energy Cores embedded in their chests. Not to ntion the Armor itself, even their own Strength was nothing to be underestimated.
The guards inside the Elevator had sohow regained their mobility, slowly lowering the muzzles of their guns that had been aid at Siege.
However, when they tried to aim their weapons back at Li Yu, they simply could not raise their arms.
It wasn't that they were being controlled; rather, it was embarrassing—so incredibly humiliating that they lacked the nerve to raise their guns again.
At the end of the corridor was a chanical Door. A silvery-white seam slowly split open.
Siege collected his emotions and smoothed out his clothes. His expression returned to calm, and his voice softened, betraying neither joy nor anger. "Let us go. His Excellency the general manager is waiting for you."
He led the way, acting as if nothing had just happened.
Nurous speculations flashed through Li Yu's mind. Ultimately, he followed along. Regardless of the situation, he had to et the main figure.
The office was immaculate, almost entirely devoid of decorations. There was only a Hover Chair and a white table. Sitting in the chair was a figure wearing a black Suit... a catfish?
Li Yu's eyes widened slightly. The outside world had no information regarding this general manager, so he had no idea about his specific race.
With dark green skin, a height of about one and a half ters, and two long barbels framing his mouth, he looked exactly like a living, breathing giant catfish.
Catfish-Man... This was an interstellar nickna. The full racial designation was Newt Water-Glow Fishman.
"Your Excellency, General Manager..." Siege bowed slightly to show his respect.
"Everyone, please take a seat..." The catfish smiled genially. Several chanical seats instantly rose from the pristine white floor, perfectly supporting their buttocks.
"I am the general manager here. You may call Lanny." Lanny had a very peaceful deanor, a constant smile resting on his face without any of the haughtiness one might expect from a manager.
"Mr. Li Yu, you are quite remarkable..." he remarked with a touch of admiration, stroking his catfish barbels in a slightly comical manner. However, no one present could bring themselves to laugh.
"You have both courage and strategy. I believe Supervisor Tu Rui has already been convinced by you."
Lanny offered a bit of flattery. An ordinary person would have long since started to lose self-control. After all, the other party was the underground emperor of Heavenly Desolation Star, making his praise carry a vastly different weight than that of others.
However, Li Yu detected a different flavor in those words—a dangerous aura. This old catfish was showering him with complints right from the start, undoubtedly digging so sort of trap for him.
Li Yu acted very humbly. "Your Excellency exaggerates. I am rely eking out a miserable existence."
"Well said..." The catfish nodded and hopped down from his chair. Because he was obscured by the table, the group almost lost sight of him.
The surrounding white walls began to turn transparent, making everyone feel as if they were suspended ten thousand ters in the air, offering a sweeping view of the streets below.
"Who isn't eking out a miserable existence? Siege is, and so am I..." Lanny sighed, looking bafflingly emotional.
"If Your Excellency has a matter to discuss, it would be best to get straight to the point." Li Yu gave a strained, superficial smile. 'This catfish is too damn slippery.'
The catfish paused slightly, then stroked his barbels and sighed. "Dark Star has arrived. Heavenly Desolation Star is in trouble, and the Star Glory Empire is in trouble."
"Do you know why Dark Star ca?"
A dead silence followed. Li Yu had no interest in playing along, but Siege proved quite perceptive, quickly chiming in, "Why?"
Dark Star was rely an overlord that had accidentally risen to power in the No Man's Land System. They weren't even worthy of the Star Glory Empire's attention.
The Empire could crush Dark Star into dust without even needing to deploy a main battle fleet.
They certainly caused trouble for Heavenly Desolation Star, but how could they possibly pose a threat to the Star Glory Empire?
With just a few words, the catfish had thoroughly piqued everyone's curiosity.
"Because of a Noble."
"A Noble?"
Those who could be called Nobles were exceptionally ancient races in Interstellar space. They rose and fell with the galaxies, ruling over vast Territories, and possessed imnse personal power.
The catfish scanned the group. "There is a Noble on Heavenly Desolation Star."
"!!"
Mo Duo's eyes widened in shock. She knew exactly how much weight the word 'Noble' carried. Even a fallen Noble possessed an astonishingly deep foundation.
Why would a Noble co to such a godforsaken place?
The catfish spoke with a trace of lant. "Why would Dark Star choose this specific ti? Even if those Marauders are reckless and bold, they wouldn't willingly risk their lives without sufficient profit."
"Which branch of Nobles?" Mo Duo suddenly asked, catching the catfish's attention.
He didn't try to hide anything, revealing it quite frankly: "An Imperial Noble—the rulers of the Star Glory Empire."
As soon as these words were spoken, a heavy silence fell over the office. Siege remained very calm; he had known this information for a long ti... well... perhaps not that long.
"Of course, it's rely a collateral branch, but that is still troubleso enough," the catfish added.
"An Imperial Noble..." Li Yu pondered.
The rulers of the Star Glory Empire were the Imperial Nobles. They had ruled the empire for an unimaginably long ti. Their genes were flawless; they were figures born at the absolute pinnacle of existence.
Li Yu looked at the Catfish-Man. "Your Excellency the General Manager sharing this news with us must be for more than just intentionally scaring us."
"Of course... not..." The Catfish-Man shook his head, and then dropped a bombshell: "I need you all to rescue him."
"!!!"
"An Imperial Noble needs us to save him?" Mo Duo's words carried a hint of mockery.
The catfish revealed yet another shocking piece of information: "This is an exiled Noble who has been stripped of their Imperial Gene. They are currently weaker than an ordinary person."
Hunter felt a sensation akin to a Life Worse Than Death. 'Please stop talking. If you say any more, I get the feeling we might be silenced. Actually, not might...'
'It's a certainty!'
