The situation didn't seem as bad as they had imagined.
During their patrol, Shane and the others only discovered a few scattered [Demonized] rabbits in several forested areas close to Krel Village. Beyond that, no further traces were found in other regions.
After sending the information to the Holy Capital— Strahl, the follow-up tracking and investigation were officially handed over to the priests.
With that, they finally left the forests they had stayed in for so long and arrived at the largest trade city in the region— Warm.
Dooo—
Shane woke up to the long, drawn-out sound of a horn.
He stretched lazily, took a few deep breaths, then hopped out of bed and walked over to the window.
The inn was right next to the harbor.
From his window, he could see the ships preparing to set sail. Workers moved in an orderly rhythm, removing gangplanks, lowering ropes, and sounding departure horns one after another.
Near the docks, there was also a bustling market street packed with people. Shops of all sizes lined the road, filled with food and exquisite imported goods that dazzled the eye.
Shane took a deep breath of the fresh air outside.
Then he turned back, sat cross-legged on the floor, took out a bag of beans, and began his work for the day.
He had harvested nearly 400 [Gray/Inferior] Attributes before.
With every 3 Attributes reforged into 1 higher-tier Attribute, he could conservatively stack up at least one purple. And if [Great Luck] ca through, even getting a gold wasn't impossible.
"Alright, ti to go all in!"
With that, Shane lined up nine soybeans.
The flickering gray lights danced before his eyes, turning white, then green… while his ntal energy rapidly drained…

In the next room.
Fern woke up suffocating.
The mont she opened her eyes, she saw a hand covering her nose and mouth.
Following the hand, she found the culprit—a ssy head of white hair like a bird's nest. Frieren was sprawled all over her, drooling onto half her blanket.
Fern calmly pushed the hand away and sat up.
Sunlight stread in through the window, and the sound of seagulls echoed outside.
She was in a good mood.
"Ms. Frieren, it's ti to wake up."
Frieren rolled over, wrapped herself tighter in Fern's blanket, tucked her head in, and continued sleeping.
"Ms. Frieren…"
Fern tried again.
Frieren frowned, resisting even harder.
Fern sighed and gave up on the wake-up attempt.
After getting dressed and washing up, she walked to Shane's door.
Knock knock knock.
"Mr. Shane, are you awake?"
There was no response. Fern sighed, thinking he was probably still sleeping as well. Just as she turned to leave, a strange sound ca from inside the tightly shut room.
"Hahahaha—this is fun, so fun—"
"?"
Fern turned back and knocked again.
This ti, the voice inside sounded even stranger.
"Hahaha—help, I'm dying—hahaha—"
Help?
Catching that keyword, Fern didn't bother with manners anymore and pushed the door open.
!!
And imdiately got blinded.
In the center of the room stood a giant humanoid light source, radiating intense brilliance. The blinding light shifted through colors—red, orange, yellow, green, cyan.
Under its glow, the entire room looked bizarre.
Fern stood at the doorway, frowned, and silently closed the door again.
…She must have opened it wrong.
"Hahahaha—"
Inside the room, Shane, wrapped in a robe, jumped around like a monkey, having the ti of his life.
This round of [Attribute Reforging] had gone pretty well. He got one purple and two blue Attributes.
The one he was currently playing with was the purple Attribute [Iridescence].
[Iridescence (Purple/Epic)]: Causes the target to emit dynamic iridescent light, greatly increasing charm.
When this Attribute first appeared, Shane was stunned. A disco ball instantly popped into his mind—he nearly laughed himself to death.
There was no way he'd put sothing like this on himself. As for charm… he definitely wasn't lacking in that departnt.
As for glowing… yeah, no thanks.
While he was having fun, he happened to notice Fern coming over.
The girl had been completely stunned.
Shane quickly stopped, walked to the door, and saw Fern still standing there blankly.
"Good morning, Fern."
Hearing his voice, Fern snapped out of it and looked him up and down, beginning to doubt whether she had really seen what she thought she saw.
Just as she was questioning herself—
Shane smirked mischievously and activated the [Iridescence] on his robe again.
On. Off.
On. Off.
"So, what do you think? This is a magic tool I just made—it can glow. Do you like it?"
Fern: "…"
(⩌-⩌)
"I even picked a robe size that you can wear. Co on, give it a try."
Before he could finish, Fern turned and walked away.
Who would wear sothing that ugly?
"Huh? You don't like it? How about I make you a matching dress!"
Shane's voice ca from behind her, but Fern only quickened her pace.
The girl had no taste.
Shane shook his head with a smile.
He figured Frieren probably wasn't awake yet, so he tidied up briefly, left the inn, and headed straight for the Adventurers' Guild in the city.
————
The Adventurers' Guild in Warm was crowded.
Probably because it was a trade city and a port, there were especially many adventurers coming and going.
"Sir, how may I assist you?"
Shane took out a linen shirt from his backpack and placed it on the counter.
He had obtained two blue Attributes today, and one of them had already been enchanted onto this piece of clothing.
[Immovable as a Mountain (Blue/Rare)]: While standing still, gain absolute resistance, nullifying all magic damage. While moving, resistance drops to zero.
"I want to sell equipnt."
"I'm sorry, sir. We don't accept clothing here. If you'd like to sell ordinary clothes, you can visit a tailor's shop. Would you like directions?"
"This isn't ordinary clothing. It's equipnt."
"??"
The receptionist was stunned, thinking she had misheard.
At the sa ti, the adventurers gathered around the counter also heard Shane's words and cast puzzled looks his way.
One kind-hearted uncle patted Shane on the shoulder. "Kid, are you new? If you're short on money, you can join our party. We're doing a Dungeon Patrol Mission—each person gets 20 copper coins."
"Thanks, but I'll pass," Shane replied with a smile.
Seeing the receptionist hesitate, unsure what to do, he didn't bother explaining further. He pushed the linen shirt forward and said, "This equipnt can resist all magic attacks. If you don't believe , you can test it on the spot."
Resist all magic attacks.
The mont those words were spoken, the entire Adventurers' Guild fell silent.
Especially the kind-hearted uncle from earlier—he looked at Shane with a complicated expression… tinged with a bit of sympathy.
