Looking at the two flas slowly drifting down and settling firmly onto the scales, Shane turned toward Aura.
"Feeling happy? Think you've already won?"
Aura let out a disdainful laugh.
She smugly raised the scales in her hand. Clearly, Shane's side was far too light, almost lifting into the sky.
"What suspense could there possibly be? You're nothing more than a re human."
"Is that so?"
The instant those words fell, Shane activated [Nurical Mirroring].
The effect of the Attribute materialized imdiately. Originally devoid of even a trace of mana, he suddenly erupted with terrifying pressure.
A vast quantity of mana identical to Aura's exploded forth.
Aura, who had been certain of victory, instantly widened her eyes!
The soul fla belonging to Shane, once light and drifting, visibly trembled as it pulled at the scales and slowly sank downward.
The previously tilted scales leveled out.
"How is this possible————"
Aura stared in disbelief.
"You clearly had no mana———— You despicable little brat, what trick did you use?!"
"Hearing you call soone despicable really sounds like praise. Since that's the case, I might as well be despicable to the very end."
"Aura, from this mont onward, you'll be fighting one against three."
As Shane's voice fell, the magic [One Against Three] was instantly constructed. Because he now possessed mana equal to Aura's, the spell's effects seed even stronger than before. Two points of light imdiately appeared before his eyes.
They represented different choices.
[Madman] and [Mana Capacity]
Within the effects of [One Against Three], the first target he chose to "collude" with was Aura herself.
According to the Attribute description, [One Against Three] allowed him to "collude" with three targets, temporarily borrowing the single most outstanding attribute from them and stacking it onto himself for thirty minutes.
But nowhere did it specify whether the target had to be an ally or an enemy.
So, based on his previous verification with the armor-piercing effect of [Dual Blade Style · Ominous Change], he had already concluded that the "target" restriction did not exist.
And sure enough, he was right. (T/N: show off... Why not mirror Frieren from the start xD)
Heh.
Though he truly hadn't expected Aura to possess two overwhelmingly prominent traits.
And even more unexpectedly, the spell was considerate enough to let him choose freely.
Without hesitation, he selected [Madman].
Shane closed his eyes, tilted his head back, and took a deep breath. When he opened them again, the sa twisted madness shining in Aura's eyes had appeared in his own.
"Aura, I'm so happy right now. I think I'm finally starting to understand you."
Seeing Shane's gaze, Aura unconsciously took a step backward.
What was happening?!
He was supposed to be nothing more than an ordinary human without mana————
Then why————
"What, already scared? The scales haven't even tipped yet."
Shane slowly walked toward Aura.
Aura slowly retreated.
Fear spread through her heart.
Shane chuckled softly.
"Oh~~ So demons know fear too? Aura, are you beginning to understand human emotions? I wonder whether that's a good thing or a bad thing."
Aura's eyes flickered wildly.
The Shane before her felt like a beast about to tear her apart, making an instinctive urge to flee rise from the depths of her soul.
No.
How could she fear a re warrior?!
"What kind of joke is this?! What kind of joke is this?! [Undead Legion], kill him!"
She scread the order at the puppets beside her.
But the puppets did not move.
Shock filled her eyes once more.
Kindly, Shane explained for her.
"Didn't you say it yourself earlier? Under the magic of the scales, outside interference is impossible. What, you already forgot?"
"Tsk tsk tsk. You're this cowardly, Aura, so what exactly are you acting arrogant for?"
"How boring."
Shane no longer wasted ti. The mont he finished speaking, he initiated the second "collusion."
This ti, the target was still Aura.
[Madman] and [Mana Capacity]
'This ti, let's go with [Mana Capacity].'
The massive mana surrounding Shane doubled once again.
The scales, which had previously remained balanced, began emitting cracking, twisting sounds. Shane's side started sinking uncontrollably.
Aura shook her head violently.
She wanted to run, but the rules of the scales bound her in place, making escape impossible.
"No no no no————"
Crack.
With a crisp sound, the scales tilted completely.
The terror in Aura's eyes turned vacant in that instant, and the scales slipped from her hands onto the ground.
Aura stared blankly in disbelief.
But everything had already been decided.
Not only had she been controlled, but her entire Undead Legion had also fallen under Shane's command due to the suppression of higher authority.
In that instant, Shane sensed the cold, sinister presence surrounding him.
All of them were looking at him.
Like believers witnessing the birth of a new king.
"Now then, Aura. Starting from the very first sentence you said when we t, repeat everything in reverse order. Every single word you've spoken before this, repeat it all without missing a single syllable."
Controlling Aura had never been Shane's true goal.
Obtaining the information he needed was what mattered most.
Through the executioner Draht, Shane had already realized he wouldn't be able to pry out accurate intelligence himself.
But now that he controlled Aura through the scales, he could force Aura to repeat everything personally.
This would allow him to bypass their plan of silencing themselves.
Sure enough, under the domination of the Scale Magic, Aura was forced to obey Shane's command and begin repeating her previous words.
Those insane and twisted orders.
Those revolting "pre-al" tortures————
Frieren gradually frowned.
When Aura reached the part where she ordered her puppets to peel the skin off humans because eating them with the skin on ruined the texture, Frieren could no longer endure it and directly raised her staff.
Shane lifted a hand to stop her.
His face remained expressionless as he listened.
After all, he was already a "madman" now. These words were child's play to him.
If anything, they stirred a faint sense of excitent within him.
Go on.
Say more.
Let hear what other "interesting" things you've done.
Until Aura finally spoke the sentence:
"[Miracle Grausam], your strategy really works well. As expected of the 'smart one' among us, hahaha~~"
Frieren froze slightly.
Grausam the Miraculous?
That wasn't right.
Hadn't she and Himl already defeated him long ago?
She turned to look at Shane.
Shane had also noticed the sentence. Looking at the slight shock on Frieren's face, he imdiately understood that even Frieren hadn't known the truth.
She had once taught Fern about every known Great Demon still alive. There was no way she would've overlooked one.
Which ant there was only one possibility.
Miracle Grausam was still alive.
And considering his abilities————
"Frieren. Your mories, Himl's, Heiter's, and Eisen's... they've probably been tampered with."
Hearing Shane's deduction, Frieren's eyes darkened.
She thought so too.
But———— when had it happened...?
And why hadn't she noticed at all...?
After listening to the contents of Aura's eting with Miracle Grausam, the remaining crazed ramblings no longer contained any useful information. Shane raised a hand, stopping Aura's narration.
Then he slowly walked over to her side.
Aura looked at Shane with terror-filled eyes, desperately trying to retreat, but with a single thought from Shane, her legs were nailed to the spot.
The power of [Obedience Scales] restrained her completely.
The "madman" Shane walked beside Aura and placed one hand on her shoulder, forcibly pressing her down onto her knees.
Then he bent down and softly whispered into the girl's ear:
"Shh~~ Don't move, Aura." (T/N : :o ti for so naughty-naughty? Hahaha XD)
