Now reading: Chapter 85: Great Mage Flamme from Frieren: I Reject My Humanity!, a Action novel by MikuDayo.

Fíliya slowed her pace, as if afraid of startling the sleeping figure.

The two demons behind her had already caught up, but at a glance from Fíliya, Solitär tacitly pulled Aura back to keep their distance.

"Now, what should I do?"

Fíliya's heart was filled with mixed emotions.

She really couldn't bear to wake the cute little one, and besides... this wasn't the person she truly wanted to communicate with.

If possible, she naturally wanted to speak with the [Flam] who had already beco a great mage.

But was such a thing possible?

Of course, it was. I am... a mage who can surpass Serie's imagination.

This is my world... I should be able to... make my wishes co true.

Fíliya's will grew firr, and a dazzling radiance began to envelop her. This radiance slowly flowed towards the sleeping figure, ultimately wrapping the [little Flam] completely in its seven-colored light.

One minute, two minutes... After several minutes had passed, the incredibly brilliant light began to slowly dim.

What finally appeared before Fíliya was no longer the child-like Flam from before, but... the [Great Mage Flam], identical to the residual thoughts left in the golem.

Solitär and Aura looked at each other, speechless. They could, of course, understand what kind of miracle was unfolding before their eyes.

Although it wasn't resurrection, Fíliya had indeed recreated the existence from a thousand years ago before their very eyes.

"Um... Solitär? Are we in danger? That Great Mage Flam, doesn't she especially hate the Demon Race? ...What if she attacks us... what do we do? You know our mana has been completely drained."

Aura asked Solitär, a little nervously.

"I think you can relax... After all, this world was created using our mana. The true power of this recreated [Flam] is surely not on par with her original self from a thousand years ago... Besides, shouldn't we trust that person in tis like these? She said she would protect us."

As Solitär spoke, a smile unconsciously ford on her lips.

"Eh... You trust Fíliya that much..."

Aura looked at Solitär, her tone tinged with helplessness.

"So you don't trust her?"

Solitär imdiately retorted.

"Of course... I trust her too. If I didn't, I wouldn't have given her my mana."

Aura said, puffing out her cheeks.

"Then isn't that settled? Alright, Aura, at a ti like this, let's just be good spectators. Let's not disturb this [miracle]."

Fíliya did not step forward to disturb the still-sleeping figure; she simply stood by Flam's side in silence.

It wasn't until a while later that a slight twitch appeared on Flam's brow, which was undoubtedly a good sign for Fíliya.

Sure enough, Flam soon opened her eyes.

Her eyes were filled with confusion. She first held out her two hands, and as she looked at the incredibly delicate skin of her palms, Flam felt utterly shocked.

Next, Flam carefully touched her own face, seemingly finding her own [rejuvenation] utterly incredible.

After confirming again and again that a miracle had indeed befallen her, Flam finally looked at the young person before her with a smile.

"This is truly strange. I should be dead... Young mage, can you tell your na?"

Flam asked softly.

"Fíliya."

Fíliya stated her na and then added.

"In fact, you are dead. A thousand years have passed since your era."

...Fíliya's words left Flam in a brief silence. It was unavoidable; after all, such a thing sounded far too exaggerated. Even a great mage like Flam couldn't help but marvel that mages of a later age could create such miraculous magic.

"A thousand years... a thousand years, you say..."

Flam's tone was filled with emotion, but she quickly returned to normal.

"So, mages after a thousand years have evolved to this extent? And..."

At this point, Flam couldn't help but narrow her eyes. How could she not have noticed those two particularly conspicuous figures a dozen or so ters behind Fíliya?

"And?"

Fíliya chuckled, asking a question to which she already knew the answer.

"And since when have humans and the Demon Race been on such good terms? Even if a thousand years have passed, I don't believe these monsters can coexist with humans."

The warmth in Flam's tone had clearly dropped significantly compared to the beginning.

"Mm, you're right. We are still far from [human-demon coexistence]. However, the Demon King has been defeated, and it's difficult for the remaining demons to pose a significant threat. I believe that all sorts of attempts have their own aning, don't you think?"

Flam didn't comnt on Fíliya's response. Instead, she directly asked about the point in Fíliya's words that she cared about greatly.

"The Demon King is dead...? Who defeated him?"

"It was the Hero's party. Your beloved disciple, Lady Frieren, was also a mber."

Fíliya answered calmly.

Upon hearing this, Flam indeed showed a gratified smile.

"Frieren... You really did it."

Flam's smile was genuine. If she had any lingering regrets from her life, it would surely be [being unable to see Frieren defeat the Demon King, and unable to see the arrival of an era of peace].

And now, the news brought by this young mage before her had filled that void in her heart.

Thus, Flam's tone beca gentle once more.

"So, Fíliya, what do you seek from , having gone to such great lengths to recreate ? Even after a thousand years, this magic of yours must surely fall into the category of a [miracle]. You must be one of the human prodigies of this era, aren't you?"

Flam asked slowly, her curiosity about the young person before her growing. At the sa ti, she felt a sense of regret... regret that such a talent would get mixed up with the Demon Race.

"Mmm... Actually, I wasn't thinking of anything. I simply wanted to et you, to understand what kind of person you are."

...Flam blinked dryly. She felt she was having so trouble keeping up with the young person's train of thought.

In her lifeti, she had taught many disciples. She felt she had seen all sorts of geniuses and eccentrics.

But it wasn't until she t Fíliya that she discovered there was a [wild talent] in this world that even she could not read.
