Mu Dashan actually didn’t know about the plan between Mu Shuangshuang and Mu Dalang.
But Mu Dalang had discussed it before, he was partnering with Shuangshuang and Fengzi to manage a pig farm.
Now, hearing what his father Mr. Mu said, it was sowhat different from what he had heard before.
Mu Dashan always felt there was sothing going on, so he tentatively spoke up, hoping to help his daughter.
"Dad, this isn’t easy to manage. I’ve already ntioned it to others. Moreover, the pig farm is in Tie Dao Village, we see each other often. If we offend them, what if they give a hard ti?" On the surface, Mu Shuangshuang seed a bit troubled.
However, deep down, she wasn’t as troubled as she appeared; she was actually quite pleased, almost wanting to give Mu Dashan a hug.
Initially, she was thinking about what thod to use to have Mr. Mu find a stepping stone, naturally reducing the Mu Family’s cut.
This way, it not only allowed Mu Dalang to save more silver and live well with Huang Bita, but also let her shed her responsibility and avoid trouble for herself.
Now that Mu Dashan had spoken up, in Mr. Mu’s eyes, she had to consider this matter carefully.
She took advantage of this opportunity to get Mr. Mu to revise his conditions.
"Exactly!" Mu Dashan said.
He turned to Mr. Mu and said, "Dad, Shuangshuang is also in a bind, how about next ti there’s an issue, arrange it for Da Lang?" Mu Dashan said.
Mu Dashan painted a picture for Mr. Mu, but Mr. Mu felt it was unreliable.
When the restaurant opened, Mr. Mu missed the chance to get family mbers involved in Shuangshuang’s restaurant, and now he’s regretting it imnsely.
But the restaurant, no matter if it’s the steward or the helpers, none are from the Mu Family.
Even his third son was not involved in managing the restaurant, trying to insert soone now was simply impossible.
"Old Three, you speak nicely to Shuangshuang, Da Lang will go raise pigs. He used to raise sheep for his ntor, milking sheep, it’s quite fitting."
"This..." Now it was Mu Dashan’s turn to feel troubled.
"Dad, Da Lang himself refused Shuangshuang, that’s why Shuangshuang found soone else, and the price is cheaper."
"If we let others leave, what would he think? Or... let Da Lang work with that person for now.
Da Lang will take less money first, and after so ti, Shuangshuang can find an excuse to dismiss the person, letting Da Lang do the work alone, how does that sound?" Mu Dashan said.
Mu Dashan’s words hit the nail on the head for Mu Shuangshuang.
The whole point of Mu Shuangshuang and Mu Dalang doing all this was to make the Mu Family extract less, and to ease Huang Bita’s burdens.
Mr. Mu thought about it and felt Mu Dashan’s suggestion made sense.
Two silver coins may be a bit less, but it’s better than nothing.
"Old Three, since you’ve said so, I’ll be frank, if Shuangshuang gives the two silver coins now, I’ll go back and persuade Da Lang no matter what.
If it really doesn’t work, we can sign a contract now, so that later, Da Lang has no ground to back out."
Mr. Mu considered himself clever.
His tone was quite light-hearted as he spoke.
Mu Shuangshuang listened to Mr. Mu’s words and found it amusing, for just a few silver coins, Mr. Mu ca up with such a preemptive strategy.
"Alright! Let’s do this, but Sister-in-law Bita and my cousin just got married, if I let them separate, would it affect the Mu Family’s descendants?"
Ancient people were different from modern ones.
More children were seen as a blessing; after marriage, there had to be kids.
After Mu Dalang and Huang Bita got married, this matter should be the priority consideration.
Mu Shuangshuang brought this up, hoping Mr. Mu would have a change of heart.
"This matter, your cousin also ntioned it to us, but your second aunt thinks that if Bita goes, she definitely needs to be paid.
Currently, Da Lang’s wage is so low, if Bita goes, the Mu Family loses a branch."
Mr. Mu looked at Mu Shuangshuang and said.
"That’s true, we initially discussed giving Brother Da Lang three silver coins, but now it’s only two. If Sister-in-law Bita is called over, we would be at a loss." Mu Shuangshuang followed Mr. Mu’s words.
"Then Brother Da Lang and Sister-in-law Bita will just have to be wronged for the ti being, not rushing to have kids, we can talk about it after a few years."
When Mu Shuangshuang spoke, she even sighed.
Mr. Mu originally thought it was no big deal, but hearing that sigh made him anxious.
Huang Bita cannot be separated from Da Lang; having grandchildren cannot be delayed.
A woman is married to have children and work, isn’t she?
If they’re not having children now, it’s better not to marry.
"Shuangshuang, why don’t you invite Bita over to help Da Lang with the work, we won’t ask much, one and a half silver, you give them two als.
When the person you hired from Tie Dao Village leaves, let the couple manage the pig farm, and then increase the wages."
Mr. Mu felt that, with such a large pig farm, truly giving Da Lang a house to manage would still have so profit.
Right now, it looks like only these things, but there could be more in the future.
People need to think long term.
"Alright, since Grandpa also said so, let’s do it this way then, a year’s wages will be three silver and a half, during the holidays, if there are any benefits from the pig farm, Brother Da Lang will take it all ho for a family feast."
Seeing Mr. Mu so agreeable, and that Huang Bita could avoid living in the Mu Family, Mu Shuangshuang didn’t give Mr. Mu a hard ti.
Originally in the conditions of the Mu Family, Mu Dalang should have separated from them.
Now she freely gave the Mu Family three and a half silver coins, which was fair to the Mu Family.
Everyone reached an agreent, and Mr. Mu, afraid Mu Shuangshuang might default, asked Mu Dashan to invite Fu Wu to settle the contract.
Then he took three and a half silver coins from Mu Shuangshuang, happily returning to the Mu Family.
After returning ho, Old Mrs. Mu was upset after hearing about it.
But with the silver in front of her, she had to compromise.
"Forget it, just consider it a bargain for that pesky girl." Old Mrs. Mu tucked the three and a half silver coins in her pouch, feeling it over and over, still cursing Mu Shuangshuang.
After cursing, she felt a sense of joy.
At last, there’s more to her daughter’s dowry.
"Old man, it seems our daughter Xiangxiang has feelings for soone."
While hiding the money, Old Mrs. Mu shared her heart.
"What? Xiangxiang has soone? That... that can’t be true, which family’s young man?"
Mr. Mu was quite happy today, all for those three silver coins.
The Mu Family, before the sumr harvest, wouldn’t go hungry.
"Not sure, Xiangxiang wouldn’t say, she even pushed out of her room. But because of this, I feel there’s sothing fishy, tomorrow I’ll follow to see who she’s taken a liking to."
