Janice nodded as they left the broken-down room, exiting the main corridor in the division building. They headed down a long pathway that led into an open garden, the sky above them covered in a tapestry of stars and a mix of purples.

They walked together, the crunch of gravel underfoot and the sweet scent of blooming flowers enveloping them. The cool night air whispered against their skin as they approached a large door labeled "Quarter 6's Full Division Holding."
The corridor echoed with their footsteps as Janice and Captain Ishiro made their way toward Division 6. The air was filled with the faint hum of machinery and the distant murmur of voices. The walls, adorned with various insignias, seed to close in, adding to the sense of urgency.
Janice glanced around, her eyes catching the subtle details of the division's operations. "Why are we heading toward Division 6? Shouldn't we be cutting straight through and going to the 1st division to gain access to the king's chambers?"
Captain Ishiro's eyes remained forward, his pace unwavering. "We will get through, but first we need assistance for Kieran on Earth. I am notifying their division captain to send backup as he sees fit. I am only involved in this because Caelum was unlucky enough to be on post-division guard duty for this cycle.
It works out nicely also since the command post to keep watch of the worlds is right between 6 and 7."
She nodded, accepting his explanation. "I guess that is true," she agreed as they approached the double set of doors. The doors blinked green and opened smoothly, closing behind them with a soft hiss.
Inside, the atmosphere shifted. The room was lit by soft, ambient lighting, casting a serene glow over the scene. Two guards in blue armor sat across a table from one another, deeply engrossed in a ga of cards. The sll of polished tal and the faint aroma of brewed coffee lingered in the air.
Captain Ishiro's presence commanded imdiate attention. He strode up to the table, his gaze critical. "This is quite the crude ga, you two," he remarked, his tone carrying a hint of admonishnt. "You should be playing a more mindful ga such as Shogi or Armagami."
They both looked up and noticed it was Captain Ishiro. Imdiately, they snapped to attention, their postures rigid. "Sorry, Sir, we didn't recognize you in normal attire. What is going on? Is everything okay?" The urgency in their voices was palpable, a blend of surprise and concern.
Captain Ishiro's gaze was piercing, his deanor unwavering. "Not entirely," he replied. "Am I right to believe Kieran belongs to the 6th division still?"
The man in armor on the right, maintaining his stance, responded promptly, "Yes, sir, that is correct. She is currently 4th in command within our division and now our superior. She was tasked with investigating the person who got kidnapped by the Demons. They still refuse to hand his soul over. Pretty crazy, right, Captain?"
"Right... Tell , just out of curiosity, how many missions have you had lately from the human worlds?" Captain Ishiro's question hung in the air, a subtle tension building.
The sa guard raised an eyebrow, a hint of a chuckle escaping his lips. "Why would any of us get assignnts to the human worlds? They are just powerless people. But to answer your question, sir, it's been at least 10 or 12 years since I was on a human world. It was simply to check on the ergence of a soul that had broken his lock limiters and almost managed to use his innate ability."
The air around them seed to thicken with the weight of the conversation. The distant hum of machinery and the muffled footsteps of other soldiers moving through the corridors
"How about you?" Captain Ishiro turned to the other guard.
The guard, standing at attention, replied, "About the sa. It has been 15 years, and it was just to get a view on how weak the humans were and how we resourced their souls to be as pure as possible when they live and die."
Captain Ishiro's eyes narrowed in contemplation. "I didn't understand it fully, but after visiting other universes like the Titan universes and the Shinigami universe, I noticed that while these worlds usually housed strong people, their technology was so far behind. While so managed to build cities, only the humans with no powers managed to conquer the stars in ways that honestly surprised .
Why do you ask anyways?"
Captain Ishiro nodded, his expression resolute. "I need an audience with Captain Aurelius and a dispatch down to back up Kieran as soon as possible. I am sure she is handling things fine on her end, but I can't imagine she can protect everyone."
"But how—" one guard started to question, but Ishiro cut him off.
"Just lead to Aurelius, and the other one, get a dispatch team down on the planet Earth to get her back up."
"R-Right, please follow ," the guard on the right stated, stepping forward to lead the way. The other guard, snapping into action, responded, "I will get a team dispatched and ready to back her up."
