Rosana hesitated for a mont, her gaze lingering on the hole where the spider bot had disappeared. She shook her head, forcing a small smile. "Yeah... just thought I saw sothing weird."

Ty raised an eyebrow, but didn’t press her. "Weird’s normal around here."

Rosana chuckled softly, though there was a hint of weariness in her voice. "Yeah, I guess you’re right."

Ty leaned back against the headboard, his eyes scanning the room, still sharp even in the dim light. He could feel the weight of the day ahead pressing on him, but sothing in Rosana’s tone caught his attention. "You sure everything’s fine?"

She nodded, though her expression faltered for just a second. "I’m fine, Ty. Just... thinking about things."

Ty watched her for a mont longer, but decided not to push it. The tension among them had been high lately, and he knew better than to press when soone wanted space. Instead, he let out a sigh and tried to ease the mood. "Well, if it’s about our next al, I’m with you. This place doesn’t exactly offer fine dining." Experience more on Freewebnovel

Rosana smirked, the corners of her lips lifting slightly. "I’ll pass on whatever Fernando’s cooking up. Pretty sure he’d serve us those orange-uniford guys if he got the chance."

Ty chuckled, shaking his head. "Yeah, no kidding. He’s too proud of his work." He paused, then added more softly, "But if it’s sothing more, you know you can talk to , right?"

Rosana’s gaze softened, and for a mont, she seed to consider his words. She looked away, her fox ears twitching slightly as if picking up a distant sound. "I know, Ty. Thanks. It’s just... everything’s changing so fast. One minute we’re in the arena fighting for our lives, the next we’re supposed to trust people we’ve barely known for a day."

"Trust is a luxury we don’t have," Ty replied, his voice steady. "But it’s the only way we make it through this."

Rosana nodded slowly, her eyes eting his. "Yeah, I guess. It’s just... hard. Especially after Kern and Gisorn."

Ty’s jaw clenched, a shadow passing over his expression. "I know. But we’ve got to keep moving. For them, for us. This isn’t over yet."

Rosana took a deep breath, her gaze dropping to the floor. "Right. One step at a ti."

Before Ty could respond, a soft tallic clink echoed from outside the room. Both of them stiffened, their eyes locking for a brief mont. Rosana’s ears perked up, and Ty’s hand instinctively moved to the dagger resting beside the bed.

"Did you hear that?" Rosana whispered, her voice barely audible.

Ty nodded, his eyes narrowing. "Stay here."

He rose slowly, careful not to make a sound as he approached the door. Rosana, despite his instruction, also stood, her body tense and ready. Ty glanced back at her, but she simply shook her head, her expression resolute. He knew better than to argue.

Together, they moved toward the door, Ty slowly pulling it open just enough to peek outside. The hallway was dimly lit, the flickering light casting long shadows along the stone walls. For a mont, everything seed still—too still.

Then, in the distance, they saw it: a small, cylindrical object lying on the floor, its surface reflecting the light. Ty’s eyes widened, recognition flashing across his face.

"A care package," he whispered.

Rosana’s eyes widened as well, her gaze shifting from the package to Ty. "From JJ?"

Ty nodded, stepping out into the hallway. He approached the package cautiously, his senses on high alert for any signs of danger. Rosana followed close behind, her eyes scanning their surroundings. When they reached the package, Ty knelt down, inspecting it closely.

"It’s got her mark," he said, pointing to a small symbol etched into the tal. He picked it up, the weight familiar in his hands. "Looks like she’s still looking out for us."

Rosana let out a breath she hadn’t realized she was holding. "What do you think’s inside?"

Ty exhaled, his eyes still on the package. "Only one way to find out." He twisted the top of the cylinder slowly, his movents careful, as if expecting sothing unexpected. The container let out a soft hiss as it opened, and Ty’s eyes flicked to Rosana, both of them tense.

Inside were several items: a compass, a marked map, and a set of smoke grenades—each one painted with the emblem of the Burning Suns. Ty frowned, his gaze lingering on the items as he tried to make sense of them. He picked up the compass, turning it over in his hand.

Rosana leaned closer, her eyes fixed on the map. "What’s the deal with these?" she murmured, her brow furrowed.

Ty studied the compass, his eyes narrowing. The needle wasn’t pointing north. He tilted it slightly, watching as the needle remained fixed, pointing in a different direction. A chill ran down his spine as realization began to dawn on him. "This isn’t just supplies," he said, his voice low, almost to himself.

Rosana looked up, her eyes eting his. "What do you an?"

Ty swallowed, holding the compass up so she could see. "The compass... it’s not pointing north. It’s fixed on sothing else. She’s giving us a warning."

Rosana leaned in closer, her eyes narrowing as she studied the compass. "But what is it pointing at?"

Ty shook his head slowly, his gaze fixed on the needle. "I don’t know. But it’s definitely not north." He tilted the compass again, watching as the needle stubbornly stayed fixed in one direction. He turned his attention to the other items, his mind working through the possibilities.

He picked up the map, carefully unfolding it. The paper was worn, creased from being handled many tis. Rosana shifted closer, her eyes scanning the markings on the map. "There," she pointed, her finger resting on a red circle. "That’s us, right?"

Ty nodded, his eyes following the lines drawn across the map. There were several arrows, so pointing toward their position, others leading away. "These lines... they’re paths. Possible movents," Ty said, his voice thoughtful. He traced one of the arrows with his finger. "She’s trying to show us where they’re coming from."
