From Trash to Treasure: The Sinclair Family's Beloved Genius Chapter 207: Obeying the Little Girl Unconditionally
Chloe Sinclair was a little frustrated.
She knew *about* the situation, but she didn’t know how it would unfold or what the final outco would be.
’If I’d known I was going to be reborn, I would have written down everything important in my past life.’
Seeing Chloe Sinclair remain silent the entire way, Ian Winters offered so comfort. "Miss Sinclair, please don’t worry. The boss is very capable; there’s no way he’ll lose."
Chloe Sinclair certainly believed Jasper Shaw could handle it, but she couldn’t help but feel a little uneasy.
But she was still an outsider, after all, and didn’t know how to bring it up. Chloe Sinclair could only change the subject. "Where is he now?"
"The boss is waiting for you in his office."
Just as he finished speaking, they arrived at the office door.
The tall, solid walnut door was closed. Ian Winters knocked a few tis, then pushed it open.
"Miss Sinclair, I’ll be getting back to work now."
Chloe Sinclair gave a reserved nod. "Thank you."
Ian Winters’s favorable impression of her instantly soared.
None of the other heiresses he’d t had ever been as polite as Chloe Sinclair.
So, Ian Winters added with a friendly smile, "There are so snacks you like on the coffee table. Just let know if you need anything."
The assistant’s office was right next to Jasper Shaw’s, so he would be able to hear her if she called out.
Chloe Sinclair accepted his kind gesture, waiting until Ian Winters had left before pushing the door open and stepping inside.
Chloe Sinclair glanced around but didn’t see Jasper Shaw in the office chair.
It was only when she rounded the corner that she saw Jasper Shaw sitting on the sofa.
Jasper Shaw looked different today.
He was wearing a black t-shirt and gray sweatpants.
Even so, he still exuded an aura of mature masculinity.
Coincidentally, her own outfit today was exactly the sa.
"Mr. Shaw."
Chloe Sinclair called out as she walked over to face him.
"I just peeled so fruit for you. Have a taste."
Jasper Shaw picked up the grapes he had just peeled and deseeded, handing them to her. His tone was perfectly casual.
Chloe Sinclair didn’t find it strange at all. After all, Jasper Shaw had done this for her often in her past life, so she took one without hesitation.
"It’s delicious."
Jasper Shaw paused in the middle of wiping his hands. The sugary grape juice left his fingers feeling a little sticky.
But seeing Chloe Sinclair praise the grapes with her eyes narrowed in delight instantly put him in a good mood.
He was pleased, but not so much that he’d forget the real reason for her visit.
The girl only ever ca to him for money or because she needed sothing.
Jasper Shaw had figured that out loud and clear a long ti ago.
He raised an eyebrow, his tone teasing. "What’s the matter? Run out of funding already?"
Chloe Sinclair hadn’t expected him to guess half-right on his first try. Thinking about what she was about to ask, she suddenly felt a little embarrassed.
Seeing her reaction, Jasper Shaw knew he was on the right track. Unsurprised, he said indulgently, "I’ll have Ian Winters take you to the finance departnt..."
Before he could finish, the young woman quickly shook her head and said, "I’m not here about the funding for the high-temperature superconductor project this ti."
Hearing this, Jasper Shaw didn’t look surprised. Instead, he asked patiently, "Then you have sothing else you need from ."
Chloe Sinclair hesitated, ’trying to figure out how to phrase her request.’
Jasper Shaw didn’t say a word, giving her plenty of ti and waiting for the young woman to speak.
A full three minutes passed in silence between them.
Finally, Chloe Sinclair looked up, her expression serious. "I want you to invest in nuclear fusion research."
"Alright."
