From Trash to Treasure: The Sinclair Family's Beloved Genius Chapter 87: Unexpected Discovery
"There’s still a whole hour left. What’s her hurry?" Mr. Sutton couldn’t help but feel impatient.
He hadn’t thought much of Chloe Sinclair before, but the previous two rounds had already made him see her in a new light.
The third round was definitely a disadvantage for Chloe Sinclair.
After all, most of the contestants were university students, and so were even pursuing master’s or doctoral degrees.
These students had all gained so practical experience from experints at school or in a lab.
He figured Chloe Sinclair would lose this round. While he was a bit disappointed, he also felt it was to be expected.
Every Genius needs guidance and training to succeed. Chloe Sinclair was undeniably clever, but her weakness was her lack of practical lab experience.
Landon Sinclair watched Chloe Sinclair’s hands fly across the keyboard, a flicker of doubt in his eyes.
But Chloe’s face was calm, and her hands moved without the slightest pause. She didn’t seem flustered at all.
In contrast to Chloe, the other contestants were clearly much more harried.
They all began writing their lab reports with barely an hour to go.
With ten minutes remaining, an electronic voice in the room began making an announcent.
"Experint complete!"
As the twenty-four-hour mark passed, a chanical voice echoed through the room, and the contestants all stopped what they were doing.
Next, staff mbers entered, escorted the contestants and their lab reports out, and led them onto the stage.
For people in the experintal sciences, working for twenty-four hours straight without sleep is normal. As a result, when the contestants ca on stage, they all looked at each other with tired eyes and wrinkled clothes.
But no one paid much mind to this expected sight.
That feeling vanished, however, the mont Chloe Sinclair joined them on stage.
This was especially true for Jolie Yates. She was the only other female contestant besides Chloe Sinclair. In a rush to process her data, she had worked for a full twenty-four hours without a wink of sleep. Now, her skirt was smudged with rust from the lab, and the hair she had styled the day before was starting to co undone.
But Chloe was different. Her hair cascaded straight down her back, looking fresh and silky smooth.
What’s more, Chloe had removed her makeup at so point, revealing a fair, clean face. Her clothes were also completely free of wrinkles.
Standing among the others with the dark circles under their eyes, she was incredibly conspicuous.
Jolie Yates gritted her teeth.
But the caras were already rolling, and she wasn’t stupid enough to publicly antagonize Chloe. She just shot her a deep look before shifting slightly to the side.
Her intention to distance herself couldn’t have been more obvious.
Chloe didn’t seem to care. She glanced down briefly, then her expression returned to normal.
They handed their lab reports to the ntors, then took turns introducing the experints they had conducted.
The first few contestants received similar scores, with the lowest so far being a 90.
Vincent received a high score of 95, which guaranteed his spot in the next round.
Soon, it was Jolie Yates’s turn.
When she heard her na called, she lifted her chin, a hint of arrogance in her eyes. "Hello, ntors. My research focus is on condensed matter Physics."
The ntors nodded but said nothing.
Hector York wasn’t a specialist himself; his role on the ntor panel was mainly to liven up the atmosphere. Seeing the other ntors remain silent, he felt compelled to bite the bullet and speak. "Let’s see... is your research on the three-dinsional quantum Hall effect?"
Jolie Yates nodded, a triumphant smirk playing on her lips. "That’s right."
