"Bro! My dude, don’t tell you’re still asleep?"
Hearing the roar from the other end of the line, Su Chen squinted and held his phone a little farther away.
"Ahem... No way, I’m already up. I’ll be right down!" Su Chen hung up before Sicong could say another word.
He casually tossed his phone aside, stretched languidly, and finally climbed out of bed.
Lately, Su Chen had found his nightlife to be too dull. He’d rembered the computer he bought a while back and decided to play so gas. Before he knew it, he’d been playing until the crack of dawn.
After washing up, he leisurely made his way out the door.
The mont he stepped out of the elevator, he saw a bright red Rolls-Royce parked nearby. Sicong was leaning against the car window, staring daggers at him.
Su Chen gave an awkward smile. "Sorry to keep you waiting!"
"Only you, Eldest Young Master Su, have enough clout for this. If it were anyone else, you think they’d be waiting for or I’d be waiting for them?" Sicong grumbled. After all, they had agreed to leave at nine, and it was already almost nine-thirty.
"I’ll treat you to lunch. You can pick the place," Su Chen said as he opened the car door and got in.
"Alright, you said it! I’m definitely going to take you to the cleaners at lunch!" Sicong looked ready to make him bleed money.
Seeing this, Su Chen just smiled.
"How co this Rolls-Royce of yours is different from the others?" Su Chen had only just noticed that the interior of this one was significantly different from the ones he’d been in before.
Hearing this, Sicong broke into a smug grin. "Of course it’s different. This is my custom order. I had to wait over half a year for it, and it’s a lot more expensive than a standard one."
"It does look pretty nice." Su Chen looked around, quite satisfied with every aspect of it.
Sicong watched Su Chen’s expression and asked tentatively, "Thinking of buying one?"
"Yeah, I’m considering it. I just don’t know if it’s possible to get one right off the lot." Su Chen had heard long ago that buying these top-tier luxury cars wasn’t so simple, but he wasn’t clear on the specifics.
"Eldest Young Master Su, don’t you worry. With your status, they’d be begging you to buy from them!" Sicong said with a chuckle.
He knew this world inside and out. With Su Chen’s status as a shareholder of the Louis Vuitton Group alone, if Rolls-Royce knew he was interested in buying, they would definitely arrange for staff to visit him in person imdiately.
For no other reason than his status as a Louis Vuitton Group shareholder!
It was a living, breathing advertisent!
Soon, the two arrived at the convention center. After parking the car, Sicong handed him a face mask.
"What’s this for?" Su Chen asked, looking at the mask in his hand, baffled.
At this, Sicong froze for a second. "Oh, right, I forgot. I’m just worried about being recognized. It’s a habit..."
"I’ll pass. It’s not like anyone knows who I am anyway." Su Chen glanced at the mask and, after a mont’s thought, stuffed it into his pocket.
This was Su Chen’s first ti at a luxury car show of this caliber, and he was quite curious. Once inside, he looked left and right, like a country bumpkin who’d never seen the world.
This was an A-class auto show, featuring only top-tier luxury brands with cars worth over a million. There were quite a few visitors, and every booth was surrounded by a crowd.
"Should we look around together, or go our separate ways?" Sicong asked, wearing a black mask.
Su Chen thought for a mont. "Let’s go our separate ways. Being with you is too conspicuous!"
There was no helping it. Sicong’s public profile was just too high. Even with a mask, anyone paying attention could recognize him in an instant. Su Chen had no desire to beco the center of attention like him.
"Fine. You go look around first. Co find at the Rolls-Royce booth later!"
With that, the two went their separate ways.
Su Chen spotted many luxury car brands, like Aston Martin, Lotus, Maserati, and so on. Each booth showcased their brand’s luxury supercars.
Cool, dazzling, and handso! These were the few words Su Chen could think of to describe them.
In front of every booth stood nurous young people, each holding up their phones and snapping pictures nonstop.
Su Chen only watched from outside the booths; he didn’t go inside to get a closer look. The main reason was that he wasn’t particularly interested in these cars.
After a lap around the floor, Su Chen soon arrived at the Rolls-Royce booth.
Just as he was about to enter the inner viewing area, he saw a man up ahead arguing with a Rolls-Royce staff mber.
"I’m sorry, sir, but you cannot enter without an appointnt," the staff mber said calmly, blocking the entrance.
"I’m a Rolls-Royce owner, and I can’t even go in to take a look?" the man asked, agitated, shaking the car key in his hand.
"I’m sorry, sir, but we are fully booked for today. If you really want to go in... you could contact your sales consultant or reach out to public relations through your channels. If they co and get you, you can go in."
The man was instantly rendered speechless.
The onlookers began to whisper among themselves. "This is hilarious. He has no power or connections and still wants to get into the exclusive area. It’s like a toad lusting after a swan—a total pipe dream!"
"He clearly doesn’t understand the level of prestige of an A-class luxury auto show. The only people who get appointnts are dia invited by the brand or specially invited VIPs. Anyone else who wants to get in has to flex their connections!"
"Exactly! Even if that guy really is a Rolls-Royce custor and has a PR contact, he probably still couldn’t get in. If he had any real clout, a sales rep would have called to invite him long ago. Looks like their internal screening already filtered him out!"
The man knew his own situation best. His Rolls-Royce was second-hand; he didn’t have a sales consultant’s number, let alone a contact in public relations.
Hearing the crowd’s discussion, his face flushed red with anger. He let out a heavy snort and pushed his way out of the crowd.
Su Chen listened from the side, finding it all quite fascinating. He had never been to a car show before and knew nothing about them. He hadn’t expected there to be such intricate social rules involved.
"Sir, do you have an appointnt?" As Su Chen was still thinking about what had just happened, a voice spoke up beside him.
Snapping back to reality, Su Chen realized he was now standing at the entrance.
"Tsk. Strange things happen every year, but this year’s full of them. Young people these days just love to show off for attention!"
"Maybe he’s got a rich daddy! HAHAHAHA!"
Hearing the whispers around him, Su Chen paid them no mind. He simply took out his phone, called Sicong, told him he was at the entrance, and hung up.
Seeing this, the staff mber at his side didn’t try to shoo Su Chen away.
A mont later, Su Chen saw Sicong erge from inside the exhibit with three or four people in tow.
Before Sicong could even speak, a middle-aged man next to him stepped forward. "Mr. Su, hello. I am Li Xiang, the manager for Rolls-Royce. Welco to our exhibit. Please, co right in!"
Su Chen glanced at Sicong, who was smirking beside him, and shot him a look. "Thank you for your trouble, Manager Li."
Watching Su Chen swagger in, personally received by the Rolls-Royce manager no less, the people around the exhibit were all frozen with expressions of utter shock.
As for the few who had been making snide remarks earlier, they had already taken the opportunity to slip away.
While everyone was still reeling in astonishnt, soone in the crowd piped up, "That guy in the mask who ca out to greet him... doesn’t he look a lot like Sicong!"
The mont these words were spoken, the scene erupted in an uproar!
