Ye Hongxuan checked the empty courtyard and saw the teapot and cups still steaming. Someone had been there recently.
Huangfu Ruiling couldn’t find Ye Leng’an or sense her presence anywhere. His expression turned grim like something serious was about to happen.
“Master Ye, where is she?” Huangfu Ruiling turned on Ye Hongxuan directly. “Didn’t you just say An’an was in Old Master Ye’s courtyard?”
Ye Hongxuan was puzzled by what was happening. He suggested, “Master Huangfu, let’s go back to the main hall. I need to find out more. Ye Leng’an was in my father’s courtyard earlier, but I’m not sure if she has left.”
Huangfu Ruiling’s eyes flashed dangerously as if brewing a storm, but he controlled himself and went to sit in the main hall.

As time passed, Huangfu Ruiling’s oppressive aura grew stronger.
In just fifteen minutes, Ye Hongxuan and Lian Mengzhu, seated together in the hall, felt the icy aura from Huangfu Ruiling, making it hard to breathe.
At that moment, the butler entered hurriedly from outside, his expression grim.

The butler didn’t dare voice that last sentence, but his expression conveyed it all.
“Master Ye, where is she?” Huangfu Ruiling’s tone carried a sense of danger. “If she didn’t leave your place, then where did she go? And where is Old Master Ye?”
Each question silenced Ye Hongxuan, his mouth agape, unable to respond to Huangfu Ruiling’s piercing gaze. Lian Mengzhu was equally unsure how to react.
Both Ye Hongxuan and Lian Mengzhu felt a growing sense of dread, anticipating something terrible.
Huangfu Ruiling’s cold voice cut through. “In other words, my fiancée has gone missing in your place, right?”
That statement left Ye Hongxuan pletely speechless.
Watching Ye Hongxuan’s reaction, Huangfu Ruiling added, “You’d better hope nothing happens to An’an. If any harm es to her, even a strand of her hair, the Ye family will pay a heavy price.”
With that, Huangfu Ruiling turned and departed without glancing back.
He had no time for arguments now; finding Ye Leng’an was the priority. He regretted not acpanying her to the Ye family earlier.
Ye Hongxuan and Lian Mengzhu exchanged worried glances, sensing each other’s unease. They were puzzled by the disappearance of both Ye Leng’an and Ye Yikun. Yet, regardless of the cause, they couldn’t shake the feeling that something bad was happening.
“Hongxuan, I don’t know why, but I feel so unsettled,” Lian Mengzhu said, clutching her chest. “Especially about Father. His behavior has seemed so strange lately. And his attitude toward Wanwan too. Do you think Ye Leng’an might be in trouble?”
“Enough,” Ye Hongxuan interrupted before she could finish. “Let’s not discuss such things further. Our top priority now is finding Father and Ye Leng’an. As for the future, we’ll address it later. Regardless, Father is Ye Leng’an’s grandfather. Even if he did take her away, he wouldn’t harm her.”
Despite his confident words, doubt gnawed at him. His father’s recent erratic behavior was clear. But Ye Leng’an was still his granddaughter – he wouldn’t harm her, right?
Recalling Huangfu Ruiling’s threats only fueled Ye Hongxuan’s frustration. He never wanted to oppose the powerful Huangfu family. He prayed his father hadn’t harmed Ye Leng’an, fearing the consequences for the Ye family.
