Recently, the college exams just concluded, and the results aren’t out yet, bringing even more people to the prefecture.
Shu Yu and Ying Xi traveled day and night, taking a full nine days to finally reach the gates of Changjin Prefecture.
Seeing the long queue ahead for entering the city, Shu Yu slumped over her horse to rest.
She was indeed exhausted; in those nine days, aside from sleeping at night, they were almost constantly on the move during the day.
Her arms and legs were weak, and she didn’t want to move at all.

The old home of the Meng family is in Chenggu County.
However, Meng Yunzheng wasn’t familiar with the family. After staying at the Meng home for a short time and finishing his county-level exams in Chenggu County, he directly came to the prefecture.
Since both the prefectural and college exams would be held here, he told Uncle Meng he was ing early to study and rented a place in advance to avoid a last-minute rush.
With that, he moved out of the Meng home and never returned. After pleting the prefecture exam, he sent a letter to Uncle Meng informing him that he had passed and needed to continue preparing for the college exams.

Shu Yu looked at the closed courtyard gate, wondering if anyone was home at the moment.
She exhaled a breath and dismounted from her horse.
But her legs weren’t cooperating, and as soon as she exerted force, they started to tremble.
Thus, halfway to the ground, she suddenly fell straight down.
Behind her, Ying Xi cried out, “Miss, watch out.”
She intended to help, but her own condition wasn’t much better, and she was also on horseback, so she couldn’t make it in time.
Just as Shu Yu was about to fall to the ground and land on her backside, she felt a blur before her eyes, a gust of wind swept by, her waist tightened, and a familiar scent reached her nose as she was held securely.
