Shu Yu’s voice was gentle and soothing, quickly calming Granny Fang’s low spirits.
As she recounted those events, scenes of the Lu siblings interacting seemed to appear before Granny Fang’s eyes, causing her body and mind to involuntarily relax.

Shu Yu chuckled, “Aunt, since we’ve recognized each other, we have time ahead. Chenggu County isn’t far from Hedeng Village; I can visit you anytime. If you need anything, you can e to the county town to find me. We’re spending the new year here and will return to Dongan Province after that.”
She paused and added, “Before we go back, Aunt, take your time to prepare, okay?”
She had already asked Granny Fang about her intentions in the afternoon.
Granny Fang naturally wanted to go back, but having lived in Hedeng Village for over thirty years, she was familiar with the people there, and they treated her well; she had grown attached. Simply leaving immediately wasn’t feasible.
Shu Yu’s plan to leave after the new year provided Granny Fang with time to adjust.
“Alright, then you head back, and take care on the road.” Granny Fang let go of Shu Yu’s hand and insisted on seeing her off until she got into the carriage at the door. Then, she sighed quietly and let Yuan Gui help her back inside.
After lying down, Granny Fang was still gleeful and reflected to Yuan Gui, “I really never thought I’d see my sister again in this lifetime. It’s been so many years; I’ve aged and don’t even know what she looks like now. Ah Gui, do you know? Yu said my sister has twelve grandchildren. You, you will have twelve cousins.”
Yuan Gui suddenly lifted his head and looked at Granny Fang.
But Granny Fang didn’t notice his expression and continued to tell him about the Lu family’s situation.
Yuan Gui’s eyes suddenly started to grow warm.
