Chapter 2025: Chapter 2025: Daily Life 3
Fortunately, Zhao Xi was present at the time, allowing Yuehua to give birth to the child without any danger.
However, she ended up hurting her body, and Zhao Xi suggested that she extend her postpartum rest period. It’s already mid-May now, and Mrs. Ding and Third Young Master Fan are still uneasy about letting her go out.
When Shu Yu visited, Yuehua was leaning back against the bedhead, looking utterly defeated, while the maid helped trim her nails.
Thankfully, although she’s still on postpartum rest, she’s permitted to wash her hair and bathe, and occasionally take a short walk, though she’s not allowed to go out and feel the wind.
Therefore, upon seeing Shu Yu, Yuehua almost burst into tears of joy.
Shu Yu went to see the baby, just a tiny bundle, two months old and not yet fully grown, but the features were clear, remarkably resembling Third Young Master Fan.
Yuehua was very happy and satisfied, “It’s good that she looks like her father, he’s handsome.”
Yuehua’s appearance is somewhat heroic, which used to be a source of insecurity for her. Even though Third Young Master Fan loved her for her inner qualities, Yuehua still hoped her daughter wouldn’t experience the same emotions she once did.
Shu Yu didn’t stay long at the Ding family; she had just returned and there were many matters to attend to.
In the afternoon, she visited the county office. Her appointment as the county magistrate had some paperwork still pending.
She was so busy and constantly away from home that many people who had heard she returned came to visit, but failed to catch sight of her.
Originally planning to stay longer, who knew on the third day she would head to the manor.
The sunflowers had just bloomed, a bright golden yellow at first glance. That day when she returned, she only caught a glimpse, but now closer, she discovered several houses had been constructed nearby.
And most of these houses belonged to employees of Lu’s Workshop, it seems this area will soon turn lively.
Shu Yu’s mood instantly brightened, and as the carriage stopped outside the manor, there was a smile lingering at the corner of her mouth.
Getting off the carriage, she caught sight of a little girl leading another tiny one, tottering out.
“Little Ya’er?” Shu Yu waved her hand.
The little girl looked up, her eyes suddenly sparkling, “Sister Lu.”
Shu Yu smiled as she looked at the little one she was holding, “Zaozao.”
Having not seen her for over half a year, the almost one-and-a-half-year-old Little Zaozao had no recollection of her, blinking her big eyes, she slowly moved behind Little Ya’er, gradually revealing half her head, curiously observing her.
Shu Yu laughed, “Seems like you don’t remember me.”
Little Ya’er hurriedly said, “Zaozao, this is your aunt.”
“Aunt?” Zaozao tilted her head, she remembered several aunts, Cuihua, Lanhua, Shuyou, Ah Ning, Baoya she had all met, none of whom were like this aunt in front of her.
In the courtyard, Zhou Qiao heard the noise and ran out, immediately joyous, “Yu, you’re back?”
“Sister-in-law.”
Zhou Qiao quickly led them inside, while little Zaozao blinked and seemed not to notice her mother, extending a little hand, grasping at the air, “Eh?”
It was Shu Yu who, passing by her, picked her up in her arms, catching up with Zhou Qiao.
Zaozao was different from Huohuo; she was older and recognized people, so she was a bit shy around the unfamiliar Shu Yu. Suddenly being held, her whole body was stiff. If it weren’t for Zhou Qiao talking and laughing ahead, she probably would have started crying.
However, once Shu Yu handed her the gift she had prepared, she quickly warmed up to her aunt.
Unexpectedly, the once timid little girl turned out to be quite a chatterbox once familiar.
