Maverick gulped. The sound was audible over the stream, mostly because he had his microphone gain turned up too high.
The street was swarming. The Mass-Produced Columbus clones were scavenging like locusts, stripping the city of everything valuable. They smashed storefronts, ripped parking ters out of the concrete, and grabbed screaming NPCs.
Then, three of them stopped.
They turned their massive, square-jawed heads toward Maverick and Ryu. Their demonic grins widened.
"UH HAHAHAHAHAHA!"
"Oh god," Maverick whispered. "Not the laugh. Anything but the laugh."
The three clones charged. They didn't run like humans; they moved with a terrifying, lumbering speed, like runaway trains made of at and bad dental hygiene.
"Shoot them!" Ryu yelled, raising his Contender.
Maverick snapped out of his trance. He raised his Glock 17 and opened fire.
BANG. BANG. BANG.
The bullets sparked against the clones' cutlasses as they effortlessly deflected the shots. A few rounds hit their massive chests, but they barely flinched. These things were tougher than the one in the café. They were learning.
"It's not working!" Maverick shouted, backpedaling. "They're tanking the hits!"
The clones closed the distance. Thirty feet. Twenty feet. Ten feet.
Maverick could sll them—a mix of sea salt, old blood, and madness. He fumbled for a grenade, his fingers slick with sweat. He forgot he had Command Spells. He forgot he had a Servant. Fear was a hell of a drug.
Just as the lead clone raised its rusty axe for a killing blow...
NEIGH.
The sound of horses screaming in fury tore through the air.
Then ca the sound of thunder—the rumble of heavy, iron-shod wheels grinding against asphalt.
"Out of the way, you petty thieves!" a female voice roared, sounding like a hurricane. "Let your eyes engrave this divine speed! I am the storm that ravages the battlefield!"
"Ionian Hetairoi?! No!"
"TROIAS TRAGÕIDIA! (Soaring Spear that Strikes with Death)!"
It was a blur. A streak of green, white, and bronze.
A massive chariot, pulled by three divine horses, slamd into the clones from the side. There was no impact sound—just the wet, sickening crunch of bodies being vaporized.
The three Columbus clones didn't just die; they were erased. The chariot's wheels, spinning with magical energy, ground them into golden dust in a fraction of a second.
The chariot skidded to a halt, sparks flying as the horses reared up, their hooves cracking the pavent.
[Chat]: [Holy_Crap]: WHAT WAS THAT?! [Lore_Master]: RIDER?! IS THAT ACHILLES?! [Simp_Nation]: LOOK AT THOSE ABS. OH MY GOD. [Gar_Girl]: That black bodysuit... that green hair... wait, is that... Achilles? But... female? [History_Nerd]: Wait, Achilles was famous for being fast. This fits. But a chariot? [Tactician]: Hit and Run strats! The ultimate Rider tactic! [KekW]: "Old Ma, look at her! She's doing more work in 5 seconds than you did in 5 hours!"
Standing in the chariot was a woman who radiated pure, unadulterated power.
She had long, flowing green hair tied back in a wild ponytail. She wore silver armor over a tight black bodysuit that left nothing to the imagination—especially her chiseled abs. In her hand, she held a massive bronze spear.
She looked like a goddess of war.
"Hmph," the Rider scoffed, looking at the golden dust. "Weak. Is this the best the enemy has to offer?"
But before Maverick could thank her, Saber (Maverick's Artoria) landed beside him. She looked grim.
"Master," Saber reported, her voice tight. "This is bad. We cleared the imdiate area, but my Instinct is screaming. There are more of them."
"How many?" Maverick asked.
Saber pointed to the rooftops. "Over a thousand. And they are converging."
Maverick looked up. On the skyline, hundreds of red eyes were glowing in the darkness. The laughter echoed from every direction, creating a surround-sound nightmare.
"UH HAHAHAHAHAHA!"
"A thousand?!" Ryu choked. "How are we supposed to fight a thousand Servants?!"
"We can't," Lancer Alter (Ryu's Artoria) said, landing gracefully beside them. "Not without burning all our mana. We need a strategy."
The green-haired Rider hopped down from her chariot. She reached into the cab and pulled out... another Kiritsugu Emiya.
This Kiritsugu looked motion-sick. He was green in the face, stumbling as he hit the ground.
"Ugh..." the third Master groaned. "Never... riding... again..."
Rider patted his back hard enough to dislodge a lung. "Buck up, Master! We have allies!"
She turned to Maverick and Ryu. The two Artorias instantly tensed, weapons raised.
"Easy, Knights," Rider grinned, resting her spear on her shoulder. "I'm not here to fight you. Not yet. We have a bug infestation to deal with."
"Who are you?" Saber demanded.
"Call Rider," she said. "And we need to talk. These things? They aren't normal summons. This is Caster's doing. Only a Magician could mass-produce an army like this."
"We figured that out," Lancer Alter drawled. "But killing them one by one is inefficient."
"Exactly," Rider nodded. "I can plow through them all day, but they keep coming. I did so recon with my chariot. These things... they reproduce."
"Reproduce?" Maverick blinked. "Like... rabbits?"
"Worse," Rider's face darkened. "Asexual reproduction. Fission. If you cut one in half, sotis it turns into two smaller ones. And they are dragging NPCs to a central location. A temple on the mountain."
"Ryuudou Temple," Ryu realized. "The leyline."
"They're harvesting mana," Saber realized, her grip tightening on her sword. "They are sacrificing the people of this city to fuel the factory."
"Correct," Rider said. "If we don't stop the source, the entire city will be overrun by morning. We'll be buried in muscle-bound sailors."
"So," Rider grinned, a feral, exciting look in her eyes. "I propose an alliance. The three of us. We storm the mountain. We smash the factory. We kill Caster."
"And then?" Maverick asked.
"And then," Rider winked. "We see who's the fastest."
[Chat]: [Hype_Train]: RAID BOSS TI! [Lore_God]: Three Masters teaming up? This is unprecedented. [Simp_Nation]: Rider is so cool. I want her to run over with that chariot. [Concerned]: "Asexual reproduction"? That's terrifying. It's like a zombie apocalypse but with Columbus. [Tactician]: This is the only way. If Caster has a fortress, they need combined firepower. Saber (DPS), Lancer (AOE), Rider (Mobility). It's a perfect raid team.
Maverick looked at Ryu. Ryu nodded.
He looked at the third Master, who was finally recovering from his motion sickness.
"I'm in," the third Master wheezed. "Let's kill these things."
"Good," Rider laughed. She jumped back onto her chariot. "Try to keep up, boys! The storm waits for no one!"
Maverick turned to Saber. "Ready for a raid?"
Saber smiled, a sharp, dangerous smile. "I have been waiting for this, Master. Let us reclaim this city."
