Over the next few days of the Tokyo Ga Show, several major titles did reveal gaplay trailers. For example, Bethesda appeared as a surprise guest and showcased Starfield, and Hogwarts Legacy also released its first-ever gaplay demonstration.
Unfortunately, neither of these gas would be released this year. Both were slated for next year, and neither had a concrete release date yet.
Capcom, on the other hand, remained as productive as ever. The Resident Evil series had already been remade up to the fourth installnt, which was also set for release next year. And that wasn't all, there was also the third-person mode update for Resident Evil Village, along with a DLC storyline centered on the protagonist Ethan's daughter.
The Village update was scheduled for November this year, just two months away, sothing to look forward to.
Aside from these, there was another ga that surprised Ichin quite a bit, Nioh.
Ichin hadn't expected Koei to actually bring Nioh out. Their developnt strength was indeed impressive. This ti, the PV for Nioh looked almost exactly the sa as the one in Ichin's mory, smooth combat paired with all kinds of yokai and monsters.
Moreover, the release date was very close, December of this year. Although it wouldn't make it in ti for this year's TGA nominations, it still attracted a lot of attention from players.
As for those who claid Nioh was ant to compete with Dark Souls, Ichin didn't pay much attention. He knew exactly what kind of ga Nioh was. Calling it a Soulslike was a stretch at best. Aside from borrowing the death penalty system, at its core it was still an action ga focused on grinding. If anything, it was actually closer to Team Ninja's earlier Ninja Gaiden series.
At the sa ti, Ichin didn't think Nioh needed to imitate anyone. With Koei's developnt capabilities, they could still create excellent gas without copying others.
Stretching lazily, Ichin looked at the Tokyo Ga Show summary on his computer and smiled with anticipation.
"Interesting… from the end of this year to mid next year, quite a few new gas are coming out."
The only thing he found disappointing was that The Elder Scrolls VI was still nowhere in sight. There was no new footage or release date announced this ti either.
Although The Elder Scrolls Online, a ga that had been out for a long ti, was getting a Chinese localization update, it didn't really interest Ichin enough to play it.
Checking the ti, it was already 11 PM. In just one more hour, Tales of Berseria would officially unlock. Ichin had no intention of resting now. He planned to start a livestream shortly and, as usual, hop between different streams to take a look.
The door to the dia room opened, and Utaha walked in after finishing her shower.
"Ichin, go take a shower first."
"Yeah, got it."
Closing the webpage, Ichin stood up from his chair. "I'm going to start a stream later. You should get so rest early, Utaha. No need to wait for ."
Utaha smiled and nodded. "Tales of Berseria is releasing, right? I know."
She didn't say anything about staying up with him. First, she wasn't worried about the ga's release at all, so there was no need to monitor it like Ichin. Second, she was still on her period, so staying up late wouldn't be good for her health.
After sending Ichin off to shower, Utaha went straight to bed.
Yukino hadn't gone to sleep yet. She was downstairs, petting the cat while reading. Hearing Ichin co out to take a shower, she stretched, closed her book, and prepared to rest as well.
By the ti Ichin finished showering and ca out, Yukino had turned off the downstairs lights and ca upstairs.
"I'm going to rest first. Don't stay up too late."
Looking at Yukino as she ca up, Ichin nodded and smiled, reaching out his arms. "Co here, let hold you."
Yukino readily agreed, walking over and leaning into his embrace.
Breathing in the faint fragrance of her hair, Ichin narrowed his eyes in comfort. "At night, try to read a bit less. Since we're at ho, you should get more rest in the evenings."
Yukino nodded softly. "Okay."
After holding her for a while, Ichin rembered that Haruno was aware of their situation and wasn't around at the mont, so he grew a bit bolder. He held Yukino and kissed her for quite so ti before finally letting her return to her room.
As for himself, he grabbed so snacks and cola, returned to the dia room, and started the livestream.
While eating snacks, he chatted briefly with the audience, sharing so thoughts about the Tokyo Ga Show over the past few days. Finally, the clock struck midnight.
Tales of Berseria officially unlocked.
Because major gaming dia had given the ga very high scores before release, the Tokyo Ga Show presentation had further boosted its popularity, pushing its attention to an even higher level.
This was definitely a good thing for the ga. However, if the quality didn't match the initial hype, it could also lead to severe and irreversible backlash.
Of course, that wasn't a concern here. Every ga had been carefully developed by the company's team.
As soon as the ga unlocked, Ichin entered a highly popular single-player stream that was broadcasting Tales of Berseria.
Seeing that the strear had already started the ga and was watching the opening story, Ichin sent so gifts, joined as a "YC Gas," and began watching while briefly explaining the ga's world setting to his viewers.
After noticing Ichin's presence, the strear expressed thanks, then refocused on the ga.
Clearly, they had high expectations for it.
anwhile, viewers in Ichin's stream began discussing as they watched.
"This ink-wash art style is really nice."
"I didn't expect this to be the female protagonist? So she starts as a village girl?"
"This design is completely different from the demo version."
"Where are my black stockings? When do they show up?"
Seeing the discussion, Ichin smiled and said, "The protagonist starts as an ordinary village girl from a small place, nothing special. Just keep watching the story, it won't take long."
He planned to switch streams after the first segnt of the story was over.
After about fifteen minutes of gaplay, a few minor enemies and two story segnts later, the warm and peaceful village from the beginning disappeared. The protagonist woke up at ho, her younger brother was missing, and everyone in the village had turned into daemons.
As the strear controlled the protagonist to move forward, the viewers began to feel uneasy.
"I've got a bad feeling… are they going to drop tragedy right at the start?"
"Probably. Look at his face, he's definitely up to no good."
Seeing himself being called out, Ichin imdiately adjusted his expression. "Ahem… just keep watching and you'll find out. And rember, I said from the very beginning, the core the of this ga is revenge."
Only then did everyone recall that indeed, the opening atmosphere had made them completely forget that point.
All they could do now was keep watching.
anwhile, so viewers, after watching for a while, imdiately switched out to buy the ga themselves.
Both the ga's sales and concurrent player count continued to rise steadily within the first half hour after release.
