June 1st, which is exactly Children's Day.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare officially launches on Nebula Gas' VR platform, even though Children's Day is not an official holiday.
This version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare still cos in two editions.
One is the CosmosVR edition, and the other is the standard VR edition.
After all, they have to think about the number of devices out there.
But there are big differences between the two editions.
First, it's the graphics. The CosmosVR version will have better graphics than the standard VR one.
No doubt about that.
On the other hand, it's the feeling of being inside the ga.
The reason VR ga pods give a stronger sense of imrsion is mainly because of the pod's force feedback system. Combined with surround sound, it gives players a more perfect experience.
In this area, the new CosmosVR is clearly better.
And for promotion, there's no issue at all. The Nebula Gas platform already has it in the top recomnded spot.
As for the official side, as the first big title for Cosmos, the official platform has given it the most eye-catching recomnded position.
After so many days of promotion and hype, basically countless players already know about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
Many players who are interested have already pre-ordered it and downloaded the ga ahead of ti, just waiting for the ti to co so they can jump in and play.
............
In a neighborhood in the capital, Zack lies in the new VRCosmos pod full of excitent, eagerly waiting for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare to unlock.
At the sa ti, he's chatting with Hannah and Ben in the voice channel.
"I wonder what Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is really like!" Zack is super excited about the ga that's about to start.
"FPS ga!" Ben jumps in right away.
"Can you not say useless stuff?" Hannah in the sa voice channel says, sounding a bit speechless.
Cough cough... Ti's up! Get ready to enter the ga! Seeing the ga icon suddenly light up, Zack quickly changes the subject.
Hearing Zack, Hannah and Ben don't say anything and imdiately click to enter the ga.
First up is the Nebula Gas logo.
Sothing that almost every ga has.
Then cos a dynamic interface like the VR version of Minecraft.
Options like 'Options', 'Credits', and 'Exit Ga' float in the sky.
At the sa ti, in the dynamic interface, there are two paths: one is the campaign story mode.
The other is multiplayer mode.
But right now, the multiplayer side is guarded by two soldiers, clearly waiting until the 25th to open multiplayer officially.
"This graphics really is impressive!" Even though it's just a dynamic interface.
But based on what he knows about Nebula Gas, this is probably the in-ga graphics.
He's played a lot of VR gas, but the graphics in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare right now are definitely at the top of the pyramid.
The scene in front of him is so real, especially those two soldiers guarding the door. Zack feels like he's watching a real live soldier up close.
Including the gear and guns on them, the textures look really sharp.
"Whoa! This is aweso! Zack, you in the ga yet? This atmosphere building! It feels like it can compete with Lucas's Silent Hill PT from before!" At this point, Ben's loud voice cos through in the voice channel.
Hannah has clearly turned off her voice channel already.
Hearing Ben, Zack is speechless: "Not yet, I'm still on the ga interface checking out the graphics. And what do you know about atmosphere building? You talk like you've played Silent Hill PT. You watch videos with sound off and subtitles on, as if I don't know?"
He knows his good buddy too well.
Always going on about Silent Hill PT, always talking about atmosphere building.
"Cough cough, that's not important. Anyway, you'll know when you play it yourself. I'm not chatting more, I'm playing the ga!" Ben, hit right in his weak spot, hangs up the voice call imdiately.
Zack sees Ben hang up the voice channel and can't help but curl his lip.
But his excitent inside grows even more.
He directly selects the story campaign.
The ga screen gradually fades to black.
An electronic satellite map appears in Zack's view.
And with this map showing up, there's a burst of dialogue.
'First, I have to give so good news: the world is still safe and sound.'
As the soldier narrates, the satellite map on screen starts switching views.
At the sa ti, segnts of video footage appear right in the center of the screen.
'Just normal stuff.'
'Khalid Al-Asad, currently the second most powerful person in the Middle East. Legend has it his local forces already have the power to dominate a region. Our intel departnt is keeping eyes on him.'
As the words finish, a photo appears in the center of the screen.
A photo of a middle-aged man wearing a red beret and sunglasses shows up on the screen, looking very fierce.
'Good news is done, what about the bad news?'
'Today, a rookie just picked from the recruits will join us. His na is Soap.'
The mont the words finish, the previous electronic satellite map quickly zooms in on a certain spot on the map.
Inside a military base, Zack's character gets out of a jeep.
At the sa ti, so related info appears in the bottom left.
'Prologue: New Recruit Reporting'
England's Crewe Mountain, Sergeant MacTavish, codena Soap.
22nd SAS Regint.
"Those two lines of dialogue just now, they sound like that officer and soldier from the interrogation in the promo trailer before, right?"
Zack recalls the dialogue he just heard, feeling it a bit familiar.
He watched the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare promo trailers over a dozen tis before.
And soon, a soldier walking toward him confirms his guess.
"Gaz, good to see you. Little guy, go pick a rifle from the table." A soldier with a gun walks over, gives a simple self-introduction, then speaks.
And the voice is exactly the sa as before, and the looks are the soldier from the promo CG doing the interrogation.
At the sa ti, a prompt appears in front of Zack: Pick up a gun from the table.
What follows is basically a beginner tutorial.
Detonate sticky grenades, throw grenades, attach a grenade launcher to the gun...
Not very hard. Zack, no newbie to FPS gas, quickly gets the hang of it.
Then he follows Gaz to another warehouse.
"This is the new team mber, sir. Don't be too hard on him, it's his first day." Entering the warehouse, Gaz steps forward to report.
The middle-aged officer standing in front of the team turns his head, and a character intro appears: Captain Price.
Zack recognizes at a glance that this officer is the NPC from the promo trailer who was interrogating the enemy.
Arms crossed, Price looks at Zack.
"Alright, what kind of na is Soap? How does a rookie like you pass recruit training?"
"Go on, it's your turn for the CQB test. Everyone else to the observation room."
"Simple explanation of the test: in 60 seconds, you need to complete the cargo ship mission alone."
"The team record holder right now is Gaz, 19 seconds."
"Climb the stairs next to you, go take the test."
Price says to Soap in a very flat tone.
At the sa ti, a dialogue box pops up in front of Zack.
[CQB test will affect your later ga difficulty choice. Also, CQB score can be uploaded to the cloud]
At this point, Zack notices there's a small leaderboard nearby too.
In first place is soone nad RPG, ti 17.1 seconds.
Clearly not an NPC, but a player.
The rest are all players.
As for Gaz, the record holder Price ntioned, Zack doesn't even see a trace.
"Looking down on , huh? It's just CQB! I'm an old hand at this!" Zack huffs.
CQB, wasn't the previous Rainbow Six Siege all about CQB stuff?
He can't beat others in real matches, but this is just simple training.
I'll show you what a top special ops agent looks like!
