Now that they had decided on a plan of attack, Westheid and Mivana traveled light, heading straight into the Purity Forest.

These two were both ridiculously overpowered. Although they appeared to be at the Exemplar Tier, the strength of their Tier T0 Talents had long since shattered those limits. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to consider them at the Hero Tier.

And they weren’t just ordinary Heroes, either. Each had a secret weapon, an unexpected surprise up their sleeve.

The mont he set foot in the Chaos Domain, Westheid, without another word, began to clear a path with fire.

Westheid stopped thinking. He let his instincts take over, dealing with everything in his sight—be it twisted, withered thickets or savage, ferocious Fallen Beasts.

’Artifact Spirit, activate!’

’My Shadow-Born and I know each other so well, it’s only reasonable that I can slay enemies with a single click without even using my brain, right?’

You’re right, but this is Shadow-Born! High true damage against Chaos! Special effects on basic attacks! Multi-hit judgnt! A permanently active supre red blade! An attack range longer than your freakin’ ancestry! The Magic Power it consus is a drop in the bucket for the Withered Glory Sun! And when you charge up the Fla of Extinction it’s just AAAAAHHHHH!

And besides Westheid, who had an Artifact Spirit in his tachi, Mivana was also a heavy hitter.

Westheid rarely saw the Lady Knight in action. To restrain her bloodlust, Mivana only ever struck to kill instantly, her attacks completely devoid of malice. Even without activating the power of her Cursed Source Blood, she was a Martial Artist who had honed the Knightly Hundred Arts to their absolute peak.

The instant her Silver Sword flashed, Mid-Tier Demon Beasts that even Westheid found troubleso were imdiately cut down. At Westheid’s specific request, he was the one to deliver the finishing blows.

The two-person vanguard showed no hesitation or fear—one cleared the chaff while the other assassinated key targets. Everywhere they passed was left a scorched ruin. At first glance, it was hard to tell which of them was the apocalyptic force of Chaos.

They pushed straight toward the core of the Purity Forest, carving a path through a sea of monsters. They paid no mind to what was behind them, as if they’d completely forgotten about leaving a path of retreat.

However, no matter how efficiently they culled the horde, the sheer number of Chaos Demons far exceeded their damage output. Their advance gradually ground to a halt. The pair was bogged down as if trapped in a quagmire, unable to press forward.

"West, we’re surrounded."

Mivana and Westheid stood back-to-back, facing the sea of monsters surging from all directions. The Wolf-eared Maiden stated calmly, rely relaying a fact.

"Correct. Which ans this is far enough."

At that mont, Westheid suddenly stopped channeling the Fla of Extinction. He looked to the heavens and roared:

"Have you seen enough? How much more slaughter do I have to commit before you’ll co out?!"

"Or are you too scared to even face a spent force?! You coward!"

As his provocative words fell, the dark, overcast sky suddenly flashed with a scarlet radiance, and a black shadow shot out from a distant mountain ridge.

It then plumted straight to the ground, the impact sending shockwaves through the earth.

THUMP—THUMP—THUMP—

Across the deep and terrifying forest floor, cracks spontaneously appeared, forming a network of blackish-red veins that emanated an ominous light.

The blackish-red veins on the ground beca the epicenter. A strange, black energy, tinged with a deathly, grayish-white, billowed out from the fissures like a black fog. As this bizarre energy made contact with its surroundings, it coated everything in an instant—dust, rock, bone, tal. No matter what the object was, it was instantly covered in a thin mbrane resembling living flesh.

A colossal beast erged from the haze stirred up by the impact, truly worthy of its na: Dirt World Desolate God. It fixed its scarlet eyes on Westheid, its sharp mandibles clicking open and shut as it breathed out scorching, molten fla. Its voice was incredibly hoarse and low, a sound so grating it was horrifying.

"A spent force? I’d say you two still look pretty comfortable."

’It can actually talk!’

Westheid was a little surprised. He got a clear look at the Devourer’s full form, then sneered at this Dirt World Desolate God:

"Isn’t this what you wanted? The two of us are surrounded with no way out. If you want to take us down, this is your best chance."

"Willingly stepping into a trap? For your kind, is this sort of behavior called... sacrifice? The descendant of the *filthy* Holy Spirit, heh... you’re sowhat interesting."

The Devourer shrugged its shoulders and let out a derisive laugh:

"You’re nothing like the offspring of that filthy, cowardly thing. And what you’re holding... tsk, tsk, what a filthy existence. It doesn’t look like a creation of a Celestial God. For you mortals, this would be considered a forbidden object, wouldn’t it? No wonder the Primordial Domain was destroyed so easily."

"You talk way too much shit."

Westheid cut it off. The Devourer before him looked every bit the Chaos Demon, yet its behavior was unbelievably restrained. Instead of attacking imdiately, it had started a conversation.

"No need to hide your killing intent. We both know what this is about."

Westheid raised Shadow-Born, its crimson blade aid at the Desolate God:

"You won’t spare us, and we won’t spare you. So, co on. Let’s fight."

That’s right. The reason Westheid had charged headfirst into the depths with Mivana was to deliberately step into a trap.

It was all to lure out the Dirt World Desolate God.

As for the prey that had fallen into the trap: one was of the True Blood of the Pure Holy Spirit and the supre commander of the Qinghui Army—a thorn in the side of Chaos who could efficiently purify it with the Fla of Extinction.

And the other... was the vessel sealing the Source God’s curse, the very thing the Chaos Creatures constantly craved. If they could undo this seal, the grand undertaking of returning to their primordial state would take a great leap forward. This mission, rooted in the souls of all Chaos Creatures, was paramount.

But the temptation was mutual. To Westheid, the Dirt World Desolate God commanding all the Demons in the Purity Forest was just as tempting a target to eliminate.

As long as they could eliminate the Devourer, they could consider the mission to reclaim Qinghui Territory a success.

In this Extraordinary World, a decapitation strike was the single best shortcut to victory—bar none.

In short, both sides were overco by greed. You could say they were rushing to et each other halfway.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk. A pity. I quite enjoy conversing with you lot. It helps further my intellect."

The Devourer extended its giant claws and laughed maniacally:

"Enough! Let’s fight! I will feast upon your flesh, marrow, and soul!!"

"All for the Mother Goddess! For the return to the Primordial!"

With an agility that defied its massive fra, the beast instantly appeared before Westheid in a deafening sonic boom, its claws slashing down.

CLANG—

The impact of tal on tal sent circular shockwaves rippling outward. He had blocked the colossal Desolate God’s heavy strike.

CRACK—

Westheid instantly felt the bones in his arms shatter. Fissures spread across both his limbs, bursting with blood.

’The Devourer’s stats are actually higher than mine!’

’But that makes sense. Even the weakest Dirt World Desolate God is considered a being that approaches the Legend rank. Even if it can’t match a Legendary Celestial Rank, it should still be unbeatable by anyone below Legend.’

The Devourer’s claws pressed down on the crimson blade. Lightning-wreathed Shadow-Born continuously lted the Desolate God’s claws, making a sound like sizzling at on a griddle.

However, it had little effect on the Desolate God. Even as it suffered true damage that struck its very soul, its face—a mask of Chaos Undivided—twisted in extre agony. Yet, it forced its body to remain standing and even spoke in a tone of rapture:

"So painful... Heh heh, what exquisite pain. As expected of the most blasphemous creation."

"But do you intend to defeat with only this blasphemous creation?"

"Of course not. I’m not that naive or arrogant."

A smirk touched Westheid’s lips as he shouted:

"Mivana!"
