Westheid had no idea what kind of reputation was being spread about him in the outside world.
The Borderland had long been forgotten by the Mainstream World. The story of the Branch of Prosperity’s ho being destroyed and then reclaid was already the most sensational news, and Qinghui Territory’s high-profile reclamation campaign had a massive impact on the Borderland.
People relished the tale of Qinghui Territory’s reclamation, but why Westheid was able to receive so much aid was a complete mystery.
It was no exaggeration to say that while the Purity People’s efforts were a factor in reclaiming Qinghui Territory, it was mostly accomplished through a massive amount of external aid.
But a little digging into Westheid’s history revealed sothing... not quite right about this Clan Leader of the Purity People. It was hard not to spin so juicy gossip.
And as everyone knows, once you add so salacious dirty jokes to the rumors, they spread like a virus.
Thus, lewd fanfiction about him beca all the rage. In the rumors, Westheid had beco a super Succubus, capable of conquering any female creature with his "Revolving Wheel Technique." It was so absurd that not even an adult ga would dare use such a premise.
Although, the truth wasn’t far off.
The one saving grace was that due to the Empire’s conservative nature, the rumors were strictly heterosexual and hadn’t yet beco *truly* lewd.
However, even if Westheid knew about these rumors, he wouldn’t care.
’Being the object of ridicule and amusent now just ans my achievents aren’t great enough! Not enough to command everyone’s respect!’
’As long as I demonstrate unquestionable strength and results, how could the world not love ? How could they not revere ?’
’Then, even if there are still dirty jokes, they’ll surely be complintary. It’ll be the great Westheid conquering them with his extraordinary personal Charm. What’s all this nonsense about "selling" myself?’
Those who disrespect Duke Qinghui will be in for a world of hurt!
Westheid’s attitude was just that tolerant. ’Anyway,’ he thought, ’history is written by the victors!’
Accelerating the territory’s construction was more critical than worrying about rumors from the outside world.
Reiya’s stay in Qinghui Territory had also reached its limit. You see, not even a Princess could do as she pleased. In fact, aside from the Celestial Gods, no mortal could do whatever they wanted. Everyone had to follow the rules and Order established by the Divine Ancestor.
When she ca to help, she could use the pretext of fighting the Chaos Tide, which was absolutely politically correct. But Qinghui Territory had been reclaid, and the Tide had been mostly wiped out.
That being the case, what was a mber of the Imperial Family doing lingering in the Borderland, on the territory of the Branch of Prosperity? As a mber of the Royal Family, you had to shoulder the duty of protecting the Empire. There were tons of things waiting for you to do!
Corresponding to the Royal Family’s unparalleled power were irrefutable duties. The Royal Family had almost no holidays; they were the most essential cogs in the Imperial machine.
Of course, if Reiya told the Imperial Capital that she wasn’t on vacation but was fulfilling the "Prosperity Law"—by diligently making babies with Westheid—then she could naturally stay.
Unfortunately, the Silver-haired Princess would never allow her relationship with Westheid to be tainted by any impurities. So-called "heirs" were just such an impurity. Reiya would not only refuse to bear a child for such a reason, but she wouldn’t even tell such a disingenuous lie.
She was a woman of principle.
"Every ti we part, it is only so we can have another joyful reunion. Though the ti will feel like an eternity, I will brand every minute and every second of it deep into my soul."
"West, even if we are thousands of miles apart, you must write to . Your letters are the very source of my will to live."
And so, after a period of tender monts with Westheid, Reiya reluctantly departed.
She didn’t forget to put so pressure on him before leaving, forcing Westheid to find ti every day to write letters, racking his brains and exhausting his entire reserve of sweet nothings.
’But she did leave the Army of Light behind, so I’ll forgive the pressure from the White-haired Dragon Lady.’
After seeing Reiya off, Westheid shifted his focus to the reconstruction efforts.
The two Celestial Vault People from the Silence Clan were extrely efficient. They quickly began transporting high-end technological products from the Celestial Vault Kingdom to Qinghui Territory via Yuanshi Territory.
Qinghui Territory originally had a set of modular construction systems, also imported from the Celestial Vault Kingdom. It had played a significant role in the war of reclamation, and Westheid had been very satisfied with its efficiency, especially in building fortresses and defensive lines.
But when the Floating Battleships airdropped set after set of equipnt into Qinghui Territory, delivering the prototypes, Westheid realized that the things he had been using were just defective products that had been stripped down countless tis.
There were nano-scale purification particles that, once released, would automatically improve the atmospheric conditions and the Magic Power environnt.
There were automated factories that could continuously churn out advanced processed goods as long as you fed them raw materials.
There was a central administrative computer capable of replacing the vast majority of the bureaucratic system and boosting efficiency to its absolute limit.
There was modular construction machinery that could build a complete city on its own within a few weeks, needing only commands and blueprints.
...
And all these things, by the Celestial Vault Kingdom’s definition, were rely "civilian facilities."
The real military secrets were things like Floating Battleships and Azure Sky chas.
In a short ti, the massive influx of facilities and technical personnel from the Celestial Vault Kingdom gave the country bumpkins a little shock of productivity.
This was practically creating sothing from nothing! Westheid’s original plan for the Ideal City had been far too conservative. At this rate, the entire reconstruction could probably be completed in just over a year.
’I finally understand the arrogance of the Celestial Vault People,’ Westheid thought. ’If I’d spent thousands of years looking down on the ground from the sky, I’d be unbearably arrogant too.’
After inspecting all the facilities, Yolanda sighed from the bottom of her heart:
"It’s a good thing the Celestial Vault Kingdom has been content with the status quo and hasn’t expanded for the last ten thousand years. Otherwise, what other kingdoms would be left in the Mortal World?"
"That’s laying it on a bit thick."
Westheid corrected her. "Every Realm of Order has its own Law. Expansion must follow that fundantal Law. The Law of the Venerable Master of the Azure Heaven is to reach for the heavens. From the mont of its birth, the Celestial Vault Kingdom has belonged only to the sky. It will not occupy a single inch of the sullied earth below."
"The only territorial dispute the Celestial Vault Kingdom ever had was with the Dragon Realm over the Azure Sky Domain."
"But, to be honest, the Celestial Vault Kingdom does seem a bit too advanced. Its level of urbanization is too high."
’So high it makes want to de-urbanize.’
Yolanda nodded slightly at his words, noncommittal about her brother’s lecture. She didn’t care about the secrets between these realms; she only cared about the prosperity of their ho before her.
The platinum-blonde girl said with imnse satisfaction:
"With all this material support, our Qinghui Territory is really flourishing!"
