Westheid raised an eyebrow. "I feel the sa way. The Imperial governnt is always making these so-called tributes. And if paying tribute wasn’t enough, they then turn around and stomp all over the original. I’ve been sick of it for a while now."
The powerfully built Yonglan Knight with shaggy, pale silver hair gave Westheid a surprised look.
"I thought you’d speak up for the Imperial side. Aren’t you the Imperial’s Branch of Prosperity?"
Westheid held up an index finger. "I may be the Branch of Prosperity, but I’m also just an objective observer. And frankly, the Yonglan Knight is the most perfect Warrior to date. To make any alteration to that template would be foolish!"
"Hahahaha! Well said! That’s exactly right!"
Rafati was stunned for a mont, then burst out laughing and extended a hand to Westheid.
"You’re Duke Qinghui Westheid, right? My na is Rafati, a proper Knight on Tier Two of the Knightly Path and a disciple of Lord Uther, the Lord of Yingxi Castle."
Westheid asked in surprise, "You an the Black Knight Uther, the three-ti consecutive champion of the knight tournants?"
Rafati said proudly, "Oh? Are the deeds of Lord Uther even well-known among Imperial Citizens?"
At his words, the Yonglan Knights behind Rafati also showed strange, hesitant expressions.
Westheid gave a subtle smile. "I just happen to be more familiar with the subject."
As a hardcore veteran player, he knew the situation in the Country of Yonglan like the back of his hand.
Rafati’s master, Uther, wasn’t just a champion of solo tournants; he was also the spearhead of several Knightly Path expeditions. He had a tendency to play a good hand terribly, leading the Knight Army straight to their deaths and single-handedly inflating the expeditionary casualty rates.
Even within the Knight Country itself, opinions on Uther were divided. So lauded his outstanding and courageous performance, wanting to elect him as the Knight King. Others thought Uther was a disaster in battle, nothing more than a hyped-up idol.
However, seeing the proud look on Rafati’s face, he was clearly in the forr camp, and Westheid’s emotional intelligence wasn’t so low as to contradict him.
Westheid said, "I’ve long admired the Country of Yonglan. Are you on your way to find Sir Solren? We can walk and talk, then."
"Of course!"
Yolanda followed her brother silently, watching as he closed the distance with the supposedly most foul-tempered of the Yonglan Knights in just a few words.
They chatted enthusiastically about the local customs, interesting stories, and anecdotes of the Country of Yonglan, leaving Yolanda thoroughly confused.
’Wait, Brother, which country are you even from? You don’t even know this much about the Purity Forest, do you?’
"By the way, I’ve been aning to ask since you arrived yesterday... how exactly did you do it? Getting that group of Demon Dragons to treat you like their masters."
Rafati pursed his lips. "If it’s a secret, just pretend I didn’t ask."
"It’s not exactly a secret anymore."
Westheid readily agreed and then gave a concise summary of what had happened.
"Tsk tsk, using the Demon Dragons... Remarkable ingenuity."
After hearing Westheid’s account, Rafati first offered praise, but then shook his head.
"But just playing around with these tricks is no fun. No matter the Trial, a real, blades-drawn battle is the only way to get your fill!"
The other Yonglan Knights all agreed.
"Didn’t we co to this Trial precisely to try our hand against the Demon Dragons? If we could personally slay a Giant Dragon, that achievent and glory would be enough for us to advance further on the Knightly Path."
"Imperial Citizen, I’m so jealous of you, getting to fight perfect prey like Giant Dragons. The Country of Yonglan has never had Dragons... Say, if I could ride on a Giant Dragon’s head and beco a Dragon Knight, it would be worth dying for!"
"..."
’As expected of the bloodthirsty Yonglan People. This is just how they should be.’
Westheid suddenly felt like he had co ho. The Country of Yonglan, full of War Frenzy fanatics, was the perfect fit for a diehard power-gar like him.
"I believe so, too. That’s why I’ve planned a great battle that I’m sure you will all find satisfying."
Hearing this, Rafati’s eyes began to sparkle, and he couldn’t help but rest his hand on the Scimitar at his waist.
"You’re going to lure all the Dragon Race from the Kepal Plain here? And that includes a Legendary True Dragon? This is... absolutely fantastic!"
Unlike the other Trial Takers, the only thing Yonglan Knights pursued was the thrill of a bloody, satisfying battle.
Seeing that their rapport was well-established, Westheid decided to reveal his true intentions.
"Right, on my way here, I t a Ranger Knight. Her na is Mivana. Do you know her?"
The mont he finished speaking, the boisterous Yonglan Knights fell deathly silent. Rafati, in particular, wore an expression of helpless disgust and said,
"That cowardly Beastman? Calling herself a Ranger Knight? How shaless! Westheid, you don’t actually think a Beastman can beco a Knight, do you?"
The Country of Yonglan and the Radiant Holy Tree Empire have completely different political systems and ideologies. The latter is an extrely universalist empire. While its main population is human, as long as they aren’t Dragon Species, other Alien Races are treated as equals. There’s even a tendency toward "pro-foreigner" policies.
The Country of Yonglan, however, is the exact opposite. The nation practices absolute human supremacism.
All species other than pure-blooded humans are considered wild monsters.
Even cute Beast-eared Maidens, who are extrely similar to humans and even lack reproductive isolation, are just potential monsters in the eyes of the Yonglan People. Even if they don’t slaughter them, there’s absolutely no possibility of giving them official status.
Westheid smiled. "There’s indeed no precedent for that. However, I saw that she seed to be carrying a Knight’s Silver Sword. That should be a token that can only be passed down from a Grand Knight. If I rember correctly, possessing a Knight’s Silver Sword is equivalent to being a Knight, isn’t that right?"
To be honest, Westheid was very curious about Mivana’s past. Before he transmigrated, *Poem of Destiny* hadn’t yet updated with the story of this "Heaven-Devouring Wave."
"Ugh... You really know how to ask so tricky questions."
Rafati scratched his head in frustration but still shook his head, refusing to answer the question.
"All I can say is... the Country of Yonglan has its own unique circumstances. That Beastman’s situation is special. She’s not with us, so just pretend she doesn’t exist. Besides, she’s been permanently exiled. In a Foreign Country, she can call herself whatever she wants."
’Exiled?’
Westheid’s confusion only grew, but from the look on Rafati’s face, he was clearly unwilling to continue the topic.
Just then, they finally arrived at the center of the fortress. The Sword Saint had already gathered the other leaders of the Resistance Army, and they seed to be in the middle of a discussion.
"We have verified your claims."
When Solren saw Westheid, he imdiately stepped out from the crowd and said gravely,
"The Dragon Race on the Kepal Plain has indeed suffered an unprecedented blow. What you and your companions have done surpasses the sum of a thousand years of struggle!"
"On behalf of the Resistance Army, and the tens of thousands of slaves, I extend to you our highest respect!"
Solren, and the mbers of the Resistance Army behind him, bowed deeply and solemnly to Westheid and Yolanda.
