Ming Po slowly woke up on the sofa.
The dim yellowness in the depths of his pupils had completely faded.
As the effect of Silence of the Lambs ended, it automatically dismantled itself.
Now, a faint green glow emanated from the depths of his eyes.
"Hell Screen... such a terrifying na, yet it belongs to the Domain of Balance?"
Ming Po murmured softly, rising from the sofa.
This was the very first Domain of Balance Title he had acquired.
Now he finally understood why most Deceivers of the World belonged to the Domain of Balance.
Unlike the addicting feeling of Madman, which scread 'I am absolutely perfect for this Title,' this felt different.
The Title itself exerted a slight influence on Ming Po's consciousness—specifically, he could distinctly feel an enhancent in his imagination.
He looked at the decorations in Gao Fan's ho. Objects he was already used to seeing now seed to hold entirely new points of interest.
But other than that, he only felt his mind beco a bit clearer.
Neither his personality nor his emotions were twisted or affected by the Title. Or rather, the degree of influence was so mild it could almost be ignored.
Based on Ming Po's experience, the higher the rank of a Title, the heavier the ntal distortion it caused.
If a Deceiver of the World wasn't naturally compatible with a Title, forcing themselves to bear a high-ranking, uncontrollable Title could even lead to madness.
According to Gao Fan, so Deceivers of the World lingered at relatively low levels not necessarily because they couldn't beat the gas, but because they simply didn't want to acquire Titles that were too high in rank.
Perhaps their original Title was already highly useful and served as the core of their team, like Gao Fan himself.
Or perhaps they worried that obtaining an uncontrollable Title would lead to ntal distortion, causing them to harm their companions or even tear their team apart.
In such scenarios, Titles from the Domain of Balance were lifesavers.
They usually lacked direct combat capabilities, focusing primarily on utility.
They weren't like the Domain of Force and the Domain of Slaughter, which drastically enhanced combat prowess, nor were they like the Domain of Wisdom, which directly and forcibly elevated a person's intellect.
Both the Domain of Balance and the Domain of Virtue leaned towards a supportive role.
The difference lay in the fact that the abilities of the Domain of Virtue usually revolved around self-sacrifice and benefiting others.
The Domain of Balance, however, was more comprehensive. It might possess so offensive capabilities, or perhaps so healing power. It might have slight support functions, or the ability to inflict negative status effects. But generally speaking, its abilities were relatively fair.
They weren't like Titles from the Domain of Slaughter, which ca with inherent negative effects, nor were they like the Domain of Force, which lowered intelligence, or the Domain of Wisdom, which reduced physical strength. Titles from the Domain of Balance always presented a possibility of being countered—simply put, monsters built on special chanics lacked raw stats, monsters built on raw stats lacked special chanics, and those possessing both could definitely be countered.
Just like the Ga of Deception itself, it emphasized fairness.
This reminded Ming Po of the Druid class often found in various video gas—proficient in healing, defense, magical output, and physical output alike.
Of course, this simultaneously ant they were masters of none.
But that was in computer gas.
In gas, players usually required extre capabilities, because what they sought was the thrill, the ability to clear high-difficulty dungeons, and the power to conquer formidable foes.
Yet in the Ga of Deception—not possessing extre abilities could sotis be considered an advantage.
In any given team, you could never have too many Deceivers from the Domain of Balance. No matter what their ability was, throwing them into the mix was never a bad idea. Having more than two Deceivers from the Domain of Slaughter or Force existing together could cause issues, and having two from the Domain of Wisdom appear simultaneously might lead to argunts—they would fight for authority, or their actions might interfere with one another.
But the Domain of Balance wouldn't cause such problems.
Regardless of the situation, the more you added, the stronger the team beca.
This was exactly why the Balance Domain Team composition existed. For instance, Gao Fan's previous team had utilized this exact model.
Take Ming Po's newly acquired Title, for example—it was a quintessential Domain of Balance type.
However, he still needed to research its specific capabilities. The ability to alter the weather sounded impressive, but he had no idea how to actually apply it...
Moreover...
Ghost Piano?
It sounded... like a gift Chizuko had left behind for him.
Even though it was a rather useless Treasure, in a way—it was precisely because it lacked practical use that Ming Po could look past its utility and feel the emotion tied to it.
The two of them had, at the very least, managed to exist in a different form.
Although they were rely specters lingering around a piano, which hardly qualified as "surviving"—at least they weren't alone anymore.
"Feels... pretty good."
The corners of Ming Po's mouth curled up slightly.
He had rarely shown kindness, yet it had yielded a decent return. Even if it was sothing not incredibly useful, it made him feel...
That occasionally taking the ti to patiently go through the motions wasn't such a bad thing.
'Could it be that I am a genius at doing good deeds?'
"Next ti, maybe I can try it again..."
Ming Po murmured softly to himself, in a remarkably good mood.
