[Chapter Size: 2400 Words.]
Third Person POV.
King's Landing.
...
...
The next day, the court gathered before the throne room. Daemon was seated on the Iron Throne, accompanied by the leaders of his military campaign and the non-military nobles who were already in King's Landing — mostly nobles from the Westerlands and so from the Crownlands, almost all of them minor or lesser lords, without famous nas, as they lived administering small amounts of land within the fiefs of the great lords of each of the kingdoms.
The great lords knew the political landscape better and preferred not to involve themselves directly in the court, already anticipating the outco of events. For that reason, they left King's Landing or even distanced themselves from the Lannisters.
In any case, Daemon remained there as king, without wearing — and without needing to wear — a crown. Sandor stood nearby, serving as his guard. Val remained beside Mance, along with the other great military leaders, such as Lord Stark, Lord Baratheon, and Lord Tully.
All waited in silence as the first prisoners were brought in.
"Release ! Take your hands off , you filthy wretches, or I will have them cut off!" Cersei's loathso voice began to echo when she finally entered the crowded throne room.
She stopped shouting and her eyes swept across the hall, analyzing everyone who was there, until they settled on the man seated upon the throne.
How she hated that man. He had turned her life into misery and now had taken her children's rights. How could she accept that?
"You bastard!" she shouted imdiately, turning her fury toward the man on the throne, rembering the previous night, when she could no longer endure the mockery and had lunged to attack him, only to receive a punch. Her nose was broken because of it. She might not have looked at herself in the mirror, but she was certainly dreadful. Even so, that no longer mattered. Hatred was greater than any concern for her own beauty.
"I see you woke up quite lively, Cersei Lannister," Daemon said in an amused tone, unconcerned with the woman's hatred as she ground her teeth before him.
"Bring her here, to the front," he ordered.
She was dragged forward by force, struggling to free herself from the firm hands of the guards, until she was shoved before the throne. She nearly fell to the floor, but was forced to kneel, her hands pressed down upon her shoulders so that she would not rise.
"Cersei Lannister, I could begin with many accusations against you, but I am not a hypocrite either," Daemon began. "You may be accused of trying to usurp the throne with your bastards, of fornication with your own brother, a Kingsguard. But, honestly, that is not what matters. You Lannisters never had the right to the throne. How could you? You held it for a mont, and now you have lost it. You lost this ga, where either you win or you die."
He leaned slightly forward. "That is why I am going to destroy House Lannister. Not for justice, I would be lying about that, not for the Seven Kingdoms or any other noble reason... I am doing this for personal vengeance." The throne room seed atomic with that declaration, Daemon would not lie.
"Since you killed my sister and my brother, that is sothing I will not forgive even in a thousand years." His voice echoed firmly through the hall, as a heavy murmur spread among those present upon hearing those words.
"Go fuck yourself, you bastard!" she scread at the top of her lungs, her voice echoing through the hall with pure hatred.
Daemon never lost his smile. The woman seed to pour all the hatred she felt for him into that single sentence.
"Well, it seems there is nothing more to discuss. The next ti we et, you will be on the execution platform. Take her away. I sentence Cersei Lannister to death."
With those words, she was seized and dragged out, still cursing Daemon, who rely watched in silence.
The next to be brought in was Tomn Lannister. The boy was trembling and crying. He barely understood what was happening. He only rembered fainting, and upon waking in the Black Cells, realized that he might die. When the n ca to fetch him and led him to the throne room, he once again saw the sa man who had invaded the place the day before — now seated upon the Iron Throne, the true Iron Throne.
Daemon stared at the crying boy. There were looks of pity scattered throughout the hall. Lord Stark cast him an almost pleading look, asking for rcy for the child. Daemon ignored him. The sentence had already been decided.
"Tomn Waters, son of Cersei and Jai Lannister," Daemon began, as the boy stared at him in absolute fear, frozen beneath the king's gaze. "The Iron Throne has been conquered. House Lannister has fallen. You are too young to say you were guilty of your family's cris."
He paused briefly. "But I intend to destroy the Lannister na this day. Therefore, I strip you of any right you might have had to that surna. From this mont on, you will always be considered a bastard of the Crownlands. I am removing any right you have, by blood, to the dominions of the Seven Kingdoms."
The boy began to tremble even more.
"Even so, I will let you live. You are sentenced to the Wall for the rest of your life. You will have no lands, no title, no wife, or children. But at least you will live. If you wish to bla soone, bla your own family, whose decisions placed you where you stand. Take him away."
Daemon's tone had been firm, but different from the one used with Cersei. The boy shrank at every word and was carried out, crying like a terrified child.
"Place him in a cell above the castle. He does not need to return to the Black Cells," Daemon added, offering at least a minimum of rcy. Even so, he could not grant more than that. The Lannister legacy needed to disappear.
Next was Lancel Lannister. Though he was older than Tomn and already considered a young knight, he cried even more than his cousin.
His age made the scene even more embarrassing, drawing discreet mockery from so of those present.
"I sentence you to the Wall. There is nothing more to say." Daemon pronounced the sentence simply. Lancel was seized and dragged away, in tears.
The next was Tyrion Lannister, brought before the Iron Throne. He was suffering from a heavy hangover and had a distant look in his eyes, yet he still stared at Daemon with fear and hatred.
"So I should call you Your Majesty now, I presu? Forgive for not being properly dressed," he said, looking worse than soone who had slept in the stables.
"You do not need to make jokes, son of Tywin. I am here to deal with the last living Lannisters," Daemon replied.
Tyrion swallowed hard. "I know you are going to kill . But Tomn… I know you hate our family, but killing children? Is that the reign you wish to build? You would be no better than my father, whom you hate so much!" he pleaded.
It was his last move to try to save at least part of his family. Noble, in a way, even having to beg the man he hated with all his strength, after what Daemon had done to his aunt Genna, his uncle Kevan, and Jai.
Daemon observed the court, which murmured at Tyrion's words, and then opened a calm smile. He had not heard of Tomn's sentence just monts earlier.
"You need not worry about that. Your nephew will go to the Wall. Lancel as well." Relief was visible on Tyrion's face. At least they would not be killed. It was already more than they could have expected in that situation.
"In any case, I leave you with a question, Tyrion. Would you like to go take care of your cousin and your nephew?" Daemon asked.
Tyrion seed surprised.
"I will not execute you. You are sentenced to the Wall along with the other mbers of your family," Daemon declared.
"Thank you," Tyrion replied, unable to hide his gratitude at that mont.
Daemon slightly raised an eyebrow before nodding. Tyrion was then taken away.
The last Lannister to enter the throne room was Tywin Lannister, the old lion.
He bore several injuries after spending hours bound in chains in that very hall, suspended from the ceiling since Daemon had left him there. His shoulders were swollen; he did not look well at all. Even so, he was dragged before the throne and forced to kneel.
Daemon had to admit that the lion still had claws. When their eyes t, Tywin did not waver. He kept his gaze firm, defiant the entire ti.
Daemon found it amusing while also giving credit to the man he hated.
"Tywin Lannister, the old lion. A great strategist, always seeking the best way to win a war. Was it not so almost twenty years ago?" he said, his tone heavy with mockery.
Tywin did not respond. He remained silent, holding the gaze. Even wounded, defeated, and a prisoner, the lion refused to show weakness.
"You waited for the outco of the Battle of the Trident to finally act. Then you attacked King's Landing before Robert and the allied armies arrived. You ordered your n to massacre and plunder the city full of civilians, all to gain the favor of the new king and ensure that you would be the great victor of the war."
Daemon paused briefly.
"And, to clear the way for Robert, you had the Targaryen children massacred along with Elia Martell, through your dogs. They have already been duly punished, and you will certainly join them."
He studied Tywin's face. "You do not deny it. That was not what I expected, Tywin. No justification?"
"There is nothing I could say that would change my fate and that of my family," Tywin replied for the first ti, his tone hard and steady.
"No," Daemon admitted. "But I am impressed by your determination. At least you will die with your head held high."
The court began whispering again.
"In any case, the children you ordered killed were my brother and my sister. And I have a duty to avenge them," Daemon said.
"We have heard that your supposed brother is alive and in the South," Tywin suddenly said, making the court sink into murmurs once more.
Daemon remained calm.
"That is not my brother. If you must know, he is rely a Blackfyre, soone who took advantage of the events of almost twenty years ago to create an opportunity and deceive so kingdoms. But do not worry, that Blackfyre will be dealt with. I know that my brother died that night in King's Landing, smashed against the wall like a helpless baby by a dog commanded by Tywin Lannister — the man who claid to be untouchable..."
The silence grew heavy.
"In any case, Tywin Lannister, as I have already written directly to you, I will sentence you to death. And I want you to know that no one else will carry the Lannister na. It will be erased from the history of Westeros, and you will have the honor of being the last living Lannister with that na. Casterly Rock will be granted to soone who supported this military campaign and contributed appropriately."
"You cannot destroy a family like that. Westeros will never accept it," Tywin protested, perhaps for the first ti showing sothing beyond coldness.
Daemon shook his head. "You believed yourself untouchable, Tywin. It seems you still have not realized how hated the Lannisters are at this mont. No one will care about your fate. No one will create sad songs about so injustice done to your family. No one will raise cups for your heroic deeds. Westeros will rember the Lannisters as arrogant fools who believed themselves above the realms. A family capable of sacking cities, massacring innocents, killing children, creating crowned bastards, and conspiring with their allies to massacre guests after the slaughter of their hosts... So much arrogance here, Tywin Lannister... You will beco a joke in the history books... You are a worse Lord than your own father." He declared.
"Shut up..." Daemon heard Tywin growl with pure rage for the first ti. Daemon had struck a weak point in Tywin; he knew how sensitive he was about his father, and being considered even worse than him must have been one of the worst humiliations the old lion could endure.
Daemon faced the old lion one last ti, firm and relentless.
"You know it is true, Tywin... All of this happened because the lion does not listen to the sheep. That is what you used to say, is it not? You believed you were above everyone in the Seven Kingdoms... Now you have ended isolated and hated. No one will care about you. I always heard that you were known as a man who wanted to raise your family to greatness — and you succeeded, to a certain extent. But in the end, the price for all of that was far too high. And you will be destroyed. The lion could never rule the Seven Kingdoms, and your arrogance has just destroyed you completely. Take him away."
Daemon ended the speech. Even Tywin trembled slightly. His eyes remained steady, but those words had shaken him, mixed with the rage of being compared to his own father... Tytos Lannister.
He was removed from the throne room, while other captured enemy nobles and military commanders began to be brought in.
Daemon began passing judgnt one by one. Many claid they were only following orders, and he took that into consideration. They were punished to a certain extent, but most had their lives spared and part of their freedoms restored.
The lands of House Westerling, Casterly Rock, Lannisport, and the other Lannister holdings would be granted to soone who did not belong to the great western houses. The Westerlands would have to accept the new order.
When it was over, Daemon looked to his n.
"Prepare the execution platform. We have two Lannisters to execute. We will also announce their cris to the Seven Kingdoms, as well as information about the Blackfyre in the south."
It was ti to begin the second part of the ga of thrones.
