[Chapter Size: 2400 Words.]
Third Person POV.
King's Landing.
...
...
Oberyn suddenly stopped, his torch still flickering beside him. He felt sothing. Felt that sothing was wrong. A feeling of being watched bothered him.
His eyes turned back as the flas crackled while spinning with the wind, but all he could see was darkness beyond what his torch could illuminate.
The sensation was still there.
His eyes also turned to the side, where he could see the skull of Balerion placed there by Robert and his supporters, who had removed all the skulls of all the dead dragons, along with everything that reminded people of the Targaryens.
For a mont, Oberyn swallowed dryly. The feeling that the skull itself was staring at him also persisted in his mind.
"Magnificent, isn't it?"
Suddenly, a voice erged, making Oberyn imdiately look back as the sound of the flas was dragged with the movent. But all he saw was darkness.
"Who's there?" The heart of the Prince of Dorne raced.
Soone had found him.
Perhaps he was facing the worst possible scenario.
"It has been two hundred years since this dragon was killed..." the voice continued coming from the darkness.
Oberyn kept moving the torch from side to side, but he could not identify where the voice was coming from.
Even the Great Red Viper of Dorne could feel fear.
"Its last flight was with Viserys I, who managed to ride it only once before the dragon died. A beast that had unified the Seven Kingdoms almost 100 years earlier. There were two other great dragons, but Balerion was always the one who remained as the main one. The Black Dread, as they called it at that ti."
"Reveal yourself. I don't want to keep listening to stories." Oberyn growled at whoever was speaking in the darkness. The voice was young, but firm, and he could already imagine who it was.
"Such a magnificent dragon… But death cos for everyone. It made everyone feel fear and despair, no one dared to say that the sky was ruled by any other creature except this one. And even now, seeing only its skull, it still has a bit of that aura. Anyone who sees it cannot help but feel as if the bones are about to co to life."
Oberyn did not answer.
"In the world where I was there was a certain dragon very different from the dragons of this world. A dragon that could resurrect dead dragons. It would always go to the graves of dragons and use its Thu'um, the draconic magic that only the dovah can use, to resurrect them."
"I wonder… if Alduin, the World-Eater, were in this world and used his powers to resurrect this dragon. It would certainly cause great destruction. It may not be as powerful as the dovah dragons, but it would certainly still be very large and much harder to bring down..."
"Why are you telling all this? End this, Targaryen. Show yourself." Oberyn had already drawn his blade.
But suddenly, sothing ca from the darkness. A spear appeared and began to roll toward Oberyn's feet.
"I know you fight with a spear. It's your specialty, Prince of Dorne. It would be an insult if you didn't fight with everything you have. I would say it would be cowardice on my part."
The mocking voice continued, until a man began to reveal himself. A glow of light appeared in the palm of his hand in the middle of the darkness. He raised that magical light, which began to rise close to the ceiling before emitting a flash that illuminated the entire passage.
Oberyn saw the man standing there. He wasn't wearing any armor, only noble clothing made with high quality, a doublet bearing the Targaryen symbol.
Oberyn looked at the swords in his hands and then at the spear at his feet. He slowly approached, sheathing his scimitar and picking up the spear before checking it. It was indeed a genuine blade.
Then he recognized that weapon.
"I took it from your brother's guards before freezing them."
Oberyn gripped the blade tightly when he heard that.
"What did you do in Dorne? How did you get inside Sunspear?" Oberyn snarled.
Daemon rely showed a small smile. "Well, if you want to know, it was easy. When you have a dragon, everything becos simpler. She simply unleashed her flas upon the guards. After that I captured your brother. Everyone froze imdiately. And I doubt there's a soul near the castle right now."
"The air after Winter's breath is usually quite fatal, you know? One breath and you die. I can kill a crowd of n by unleashing a rain of icy fire around a camp. No one survives." Daemon recited that with a disturbing calm.
"You are not worthy of using that symbol..." Oberyn ignored the words about Dorne and looked at the symbol of House Targaryen on Daemon's chest.
"And who would be? Your Blackfyre?" Daemon mocked.
Oberyn did not answer imdiately, he seed to want to talk about sothing else. "I've heard a lot about you. You know that in Dorne we beca very angry when your father simply ran away with your mother's prostitute, leaving my sister adrift in danger. All she found was death along with her children, without rcy," said Oberyn, trying to provoke him.
"I admit my father and my mother were quite irresponsible because of that. However, you should not offend the mother of a man who can kill you right here and no one will ever know. Your body would rot in a place like this, without your brother ever finding out." Daemon said that in a deadly tone.
Certainly Oberyn would not receive his rcy.
"And what will you do? Exterminate House Martell?" Oberyn mocked, while Daemon displayed a smile.
"You think I won't do that? You think I can't destroy you?" Daemon said with a dark tone this ti.
For a mont, uncertainty passed through Oberyn's mind.
"If my father had won the war and brought my mother to the Red Keep, I would have been poisoned by you. I'm sure of that."
"Good that you know that," Oberyn mocked. "Elia would never do such a thing, but we would protect him. We would protect Aegon."
"I see you even admit that, in the end, that Blackfyre is not the Aegon who was your sister's son," Daemon mocked.
"That doesn't matter anymore," said Oberyn.
Daemon agreed with him. "Yes… it doesn't matter anymore."
"That's why I won't feel so guilty when I remove House Martell entirely from the map."
"Not if I don't allow it," Oberyn replied with a snarl.
Then, soon a sword began to materialize in Daemon's hand: Dark Sister.
"I've heard you're good with speed. Let's see what you're capable of." With those words, Daemon advanced.
Oberyn quickly stepped to the side and tried to stab Daemon, thrusting his spear forward while the other dodged by turning his body. But Oberyn was already spinning his body to try to hit him again. Daemon placed his sword downward, blocking the spear's blade before forcing it away.
Oberyn quickly spun and launched another attack. Daemon defended himself with ease.
The Prince of Dorne took a few more steps and spun again, trying to catch Daemon with severe strikes. Daemon stepped forward, placing his sword to block the blade and advancing again.
Oberyn was quick to pull sothing from his pocket. Then he threw it at Daemon.
It was poison in the form of smoke.
Daemon simply pushed it away with telekinesis, defending himself while continuing to advance.
Oberyn spun again, grabbing the spear and making a movent to attack once more.
Daemon quickly defended himself and advanced against the Prince of Dorne.
The fight between them broke the silence of that place with the sounds of steel clashing and movent. The only witness seed to be the skull of Balerion, with the light illuminating the entire area, while the Valyrian steel blade and Oberyn's spear struck against each other.
Sotis Oberyn used the wood of the spear itself to defend against the attacks, which began to create small cracks.
He could not help but feel worried, because that was the only spear he had. If it broke, he would have to resort to his scimitars.
"You are fast," Daemon praised, but with the tone of soone who was rely having fun.
In truth, Oberyn was not the greatest challenge Daemon had encountered since he returned to that world. His uncle, Brynden Tully, and so warriors among the free folk and even Kevan Lannister had already fought him. None of them, however, could compare to the old knight Barristan Selmy, whom Daemon defeated with so ease.
Oberyn naturally also fell into the category below Selmy. So for Daemon, it was easy to deal with the Prince of Dorne.
Daemon saw Oberyn place sothing in his mouth and spit in his direction. Daemon dodged, tilting his head to the side.
A poisoned dart passed by him.
He laughed when he saw that. Daemon knew that the Prince of Dorne had prepared himself. His clothes were full of poisons and all kinds of tricks.
anwhile, Oberyn threw three knives at him.
Daemon stepped back, using Dark Sister itself to defend. The blades struck against the Valyrian steel sword while he dodged with perfect movents.
That gave him a chance to attack Oberyn easily. He used the wood of the spear itself to defend, but it ended up breaking in the middle. That made Oberyn lose the weapon's usefulness and throw it away before removing the scimitar once again.
With Daemon already upon him, the blades clashed.
Oberyn began to be pushed backward before spinning and defending himself to the side from Daemon's blade. He took advantage of an opening on Daemon's right to make a movent with his hand. His wrist began to reveal a hidden blade.
Oberyn quickly launched it toward Daemon's neck.
However, Daemon raised his other hand and materialized a shield from his dinsional storage. The blade struck it and failed to pierce through before being pushed away.
"Nice trick, assassin," Daemon mocked.
With his other hand, Oberyn aid again. There was a device with a small crossbow hidden there. He fired the dart, but Daemon didn't even need to raise the shield. He simply broke it with the sword.
Oberyn, without stopping, grabbed three small balls from the ground and began throwing them near Daemon.
Daemon used telekinesis to stop them in the air and move them aside while finally advancing, demonstrating a bit of his real strength.
When Oberyn tried to defend himself, Daemon easily forced him back with his sword, placing more weight than the Dornishman could withstand and quickly unbalancing him.
As soon as he opened a small gap, Daemon made a swift movent.
The blade slashed across the front of the prince.
Oberyn's eyes were struck by a clean cut.
"AAAH!" The prince's cry of pain echoed through the corridor as he imdiately staggered backward, with blood beginning to run from his slashed eyes.
Oberyn touched his face with his hands, seeming unable to believe it, as they filled with blood. He groaned and breathed with difficulty.
He could no longer see anything.
As soon as the Prince of Dorne fell to his knees, Daemon took a step forward.
Oberyn trembled and quickly shoved his hand into his pocket, removing a few more smoke balls filled with poison and throwing them between himself and Daemon.
Daemon took a step back while he heard hurried footsteps moving away.
"So he knows how to run." Daemon looked into the smoke. It was difficult to see, but his eyes had already changed.
Using the life-detection ability, able to see through the darkness and the poisonous smoke, he saw exactly where Oberyn was fleeing, moving in a straight line.
Daemon stepped to the side and positioned his sword.
The next mont, he prepared to throw it.
He spun the sword quickly and launched it. The blade cut through the poisonous smoke.
An instant later, it was possible to hear a thud.
Soone scread and fell to the ground.
Dark Sister had struck exactly where the prince was running, fleeing for his life.
The prince perhaps could not even believe that he would truly die there. Even if he had been captured, he could still have been an important hostage. But now he rembered Daemon's last words.
Daemon had said that he would have no rcy for House Martell and that he intended to remove it once and for all since they had allied themselves with the Blackfyre.
The poison soon dissipated with a "Fus".
Daemon approached as he saw Oberyn fallen on the ground. The sword had pierced directly through his back and ca out through his chest.
His eyes were still bleeding, as was his chest where the blade was piercing through his body...
Daemon removed Dark Sister.
The hemorrhage increased even more.
"If you et Elia in the afterlife, tell her that I am sorry for what happened to her and my siblings. She did not deserve to die." He paused briefly.
"But also tell her that if she wants to hate for the matters of this world, after I send you and as many mbers of House Martell as possible to her, she has every right. Because I have already made my decision… and I will finish all of you."
Daemon spoke those words coldly. This family would not have his rcy. They would have killed him and his mother at the first opportunity. So why should he pity them?
With a swift motion, Daemon removed Oberyn's head.
The fool had been carried away by his own hot blood, thinking he could really enter the city, rescue his brother and nephew, and then kill him.
"At least you'll give a nice head to decorate the eting tomorrow." Daemon mocked.
Soon, they would have a eting under a banner of peace with Blackfyre for the first ti, and Oberyn's head would be a good gift for the Blackfyre.

You know what I was thinking... instead of summoning Odahviing, I was thinking about using the sa Thu'um that Alduin uses to resurrect dragons. I was thinking about calling Balerion, the Black Dread. Just one last ti, not that it would be permanent. Just once.
