Dragon Breaker charged straight ahead, shattering the wall.
In front of that deep, blood-like dark red beam, the solid stone that made up the wall silently disintegrated, turning to flying ash,
The Power of Faith contained within the bricks and stones of the wall could not stop or even slightly slow it.
Dazzling, blazing light flooded the entire space,
The dozen-odd normal players standing at the front only felt a stab of pain in their eyes,
Their thin eyelids were completely unable to block the intense radiance like a blazing noonday sun,
Blood-tears involuntarily trickled from the corners of their eyes,
Their eyeballs burned with searing pain as if being roasted—this was even with Hoenhem having already pre-cast defensive spells on everyone, and deliberately controlled Dragon Breaker’s trajectory.
After the intense light ca a shockwave visible to the naked eye.
The dust on the ground was blown away in an instant,
The stone table that had originally been firmly fixed to the room’s floor was flipped up by the shockwave, slamd into the wall, and shattered to pieces along with the candles.
"Star Realm Bastion."
Side Truth rasped in a low voice, his robe billowing violently as he released vast Spiritual Energy, shaping it into a thick wall of Star Realm matter laid horizontally.
The Star Realm city wall, under the impact of Dragon Breaker’s shockwave, rippled with wave-like patterns on its surface, emitting a tooth-grinding screech,
More than once it seed about to buckle under the strain and shatter on the spot.
But in the end, it held.
The light weakened, then gradually dispersed, and after the shockwave destroyed the last two remaining walls on either side of the stone chamber and broke the room open, it too slowly faded.
Dragon Breaker was worthy of being the strongest offensive black magic,
With one strike,
The bricks and stones of the ceiling were completely annihilated, revealing stark white beams like steel bars,
Through the dim white glow, one could vaguely see the real mountain rock strata and the sky outside.
Dragon Breaker had actually shattered the entire Stone Cave Maze Lock’s disguise, dragging the Maze Lock back into the real world,
So players with sharp senses imdiately felt the oppressive spatial confinent around them ease considerably,
Yet in their hearts, there was little joy.
That deep and gloomy aura from ahead,
Far from being wiped out by Dragon Breaker, instead grew ever more distinct and intense as the wall was blasted through.
Oppression, fear, horror.
Like a mortal, in the flesh, staring straight at an apex predator at the top of the food chain.
Everyone present once again experienced that weakness and helplessness they hadn’t felt for a long ti since becoming Transcendents.
The players, without hesitation, pulled out equipnt and items from their backpack slots that had previously been unusable, pushing their combat power to the limit. Every gaze was fixed on that "—" shaped gap cleaved open by Dragon Breaker.
Finally, the light completely faded,
The scene in the space ahead was laid bare before them.
It was a room of the sa size and area, its original stone ceiling, walls, and floor all destroyed by Dragon Breaker,
Exposing the essential white radiance.
Amidst the countless beams of light sat a withered corpse.
No one knew how many years that corpse had lain there,
His hair had vanished to dust, his skin was sallow and deeply wrinkled,
His features were withered, his body emaciated like a bundle of sticks,
His legs simply crossed on the ground, back hunched, head drooping, a rotted, broken robe-like cloth draped over his body.
From any angle, this corpse had been rotten for a very, very long ti,
No trace of life force or Energy fluctuation could be felt,
Just an ordinary dried corpse, sothing that should be placed under a transparent vacuum do in a museum, with a label reading "B.C." hanging on it.
The most normal thing was instead the most abnormal,
The plain old dried corpse sat cross-legged on the ground,
The beams of light on the wall behind him were still twisted into a tangle by Dragon Breaker’s earlier slash,
Yet he himself had not suffered the slightest damage.
The reason lay, perhaps, in the mass of beam-lines connected to the corpse’s crossed legs.
Ssshh—
With a soft whistle of air,
More white beam-lines dropped from the ceiling and walls,
Automatically converging into hundreds, thousands of vein-drip-like conduits, stabbing into the corpse’s arms and spine.
Even Xing Hechou, a Transcendent not particularly familiar with the Divine Power system, realized what was happening at this mont—
The surrounding Power of Faith was manifesting as white beam-lines, directly pouring into the corpse’s body.
"All together!"
Without the slightest hesitation,
Bo beside him imdiately cranked the Bi’an Armor to maximum output mode and once again unleashed that linked skill set at the eerie corpse.
[Slow Ti], freezing space,
[Scatter Flowers], obstructing sight,
[Energy Extraction], draining Energy,
[Snake Eye], prying into weak points.
Having learned from Li Ang’s earlier misfortune, Bo didn’t rashly use his strongest binding skill, [Rouge Red Lotus]. Fortunately this group of players included no shortage of Transcendents with more and stronger offensive thods than his,
All Bo needed to do was inform the others of that corpse’s weaknesses.
"He hasn’t woken up yet. Cut off the Divine Power Connection, break his supply line!"
Bo shouted, flipping his left hand to draw out over a dozen cards and slotting them into the Bi’an Armor,
While his right hand controlled the arm-guards, spewing firepower forward like a machine gun.
The situation shifted in an instant,
From the mont everyone felt the oppressive aura, to Hoenhem unleashing Dragon Breaker, to seeing the eerie corpse,
Only a few breaths had passed,
Luckily, all the players present were Transcendents who had long walked the razor’s edge of life and death, with extrely rich combat experience, and they unleashed their thods without delay.
The pink-haired girl Dawn summoned that Capini ch, smashing through the half-real, half-illusory room ceiling as she drove the ch to fire a barrage of rockets.
David stepped half a pace forward, assuming a textbook javelin-throwing stance; the muscles under his fitted suit stood out in sharp relief as the Judgent Spear in his hand turned into a Thunderbolt and darted out.
Life-Killing Hospital flipped both hands, ten daggers appearing in his palms in an instant, then vanishing in the next.
Artillery fire, Thunderbolts, gunshots, curses, gu techniques, Magic...
All sorts of attacks surged toward that gaunt dried corpse like a landslide and a tidal wave.
Months had passed, and the first- and second-echelon players had all made great strides in strength,
Even the Desolated Lion of that day in the Lost World would not have been able to remain indifferent in the face of this level of offensive ocean.
Yet the corpse just sat there calmly in place, not moving in the slightest,
While the strongest few present—
Lose Control, Side Truth, Hoenhem, Li Ang,
Also stood motionless, as if by tacit agreent.
Allies in trouble, unmoving as a mountain?
The other players didn’t have ti for their doubts to fully form when a dull, distant sound, like it ca from beyond the sky, reached their ears.
Thump—
The sound vibrated the air and shook the ground,
The players’ internal organs quivered slightly along with it.
The loud noise—or rather, the corpse’s heartbeat—
Rang in the ears of everyone present with razor clarity, making their faces blanch involuntarily.
The heartbeat was heavy and thunderous,
The corpse’s chest rose and fell ever so slightly, and a shockwave visible to the naked eye rippled out from his body,
It reflected most of the players’ attacks straight back, slamming them into the walls.
The few unavoidable attacks, like curses and hexes,
only left one or two barely visible black lines across the mummy’s surface.
This corpse was like an incredibly rare transcendent material of extrely high Mysterious Degree,
capable of ignoring the vast majority of attack Special Effects.
Whether physical or magic attacks, once they hit its skin, would all be heavily weakened.
Thump—
The mummy’s chest rose and fell again,
and as a massive flood of Power of Faith poured in,
the corpse swelled rapidly, like an inflatable ball being filled with air.
Withered skin regained color, the emaciated muscles slowly filled out,
and even the skull-like face faintly returned to a "living person" standard—just looking severely malnourished.
Now!
The four Apex Transcendents present all moved at once.
The Magic Crystals floating around Hoenhem automatically cast layers of defensive Spells, circling him like an iron barrel and shielding him completely.
As for Hoenhem himself, he pressed his hand on the Book of Sand that appeared out of thin air and began chanting obscure, profound incantations once more.
The short-haired youth Lose Control vanished from his spot in an instant, Flashing directly behind the mummy,
and slamd his fist toward the back of its head.
Side Truth Flashed to the mummy’s left, casually waved his palm, unleashed his Psychic Creation Ability, and conjured over a hundred tiny, model-toy-sized WWII artillery pieces—
mortars, infantry guns, anti-tank guns, howitzers, rail guns...
everything you could think of,
all floating in midair,
and opening fire on the mummy with a thunderous barrage.
Li Ang, wearing a dragon-head and a white lab coat, pulled out his Colt Revolver, switched on headshot mode, and pulled the trigger at the mummy’s skull.
The Colt’s instant-hit Special Effect Triggered; the mummy’s right eye was shot, bursting with bright fire,
and at the sa ti Li Ang activated the Bullet Teleportation Technique, Flashing to the mummy’s front and swinging Heart Monkey hard.
The Heart Monkey Staff, infused with a vast amount of Swamp God Power and wrapped in countless fine Divine Power Vines, slamd heavily toward the mummy’s neck.
Unlike Xing Hechou and the others,
the four of them had vaguely understood the mummy’s current state the mont they saw it.
This mummy was indeed the Sibi King without a doubt.
In its dried-corpse form, its body was incomparably tough, almost as hard to destroy as a Mirage Dragon Red Mane Coat, which was why it could resist the erosion of years and survive to this day.
At this very mont, it was continuously absorbing the Power of Faith seeping in from outside, trying to restore its shriveled corpse to normal, regaining mobility.
And when the restoration reached a certain point—when the mummy was half-healed, with its defenses at their weakest—that was the best mont to strike.
The four launched their attacks in unison.
The back of the mummy’s neck was first struck by Lose Control’s fist, jerking its head forward and snapping most of the Divine Power Connection tubes along its spine.
Imdiately after, Side Truth’s artillery array, conjured by his Psychic Creation Ability, hit the mummy again,
knocking its entire body helplessly to the right.
Thump—
The shockwave of the third heartbeat hadn’t even ford before Li Ang whipped it back with the Heart Monkey Staff,
and the corpse’s just-inflated chest instantly collapsed flat again.
It wasn’t over yet.
Hoenhem’s chant reached its conclusion; a black halo appeared in his hand, spinning rapidly like a gear,
then shot out in an instant, circling the mummy once,
severing most of the Divine Power Connections,
and also cutting into the corpse’s chest, ripping open the robe and skin with a huge gash, revealing an amber-like, crystal-clear cross-section of flesh.
From the wounded cross-section, one or two drops of fragrant, golden liquid dripped out.
"..."
The mummy ignored the wound on its chest, suddenly snapped its head up, its eyes all whites as it stared fixedly at Li Ang,
and its two arms stiffly and sluggishly rose, clawing rapidly toward him.
Li Ang frowned,
imdiately swung the Colt Revolver around toward where Xing Hechou and the others were, pulled the trigger, and then used the Bullet Teleportation Technique
to Flash dozens of steps away, dodging the claw strike.
After forcibly driving Li Ang back, the mummy twisted its torso and swiped its claws at Side Truth.
The latter remained hovering, the hem of his yellow robe fluttering as he retreated rapidly, dodging the swipe, and continued to control the artillery array to maintain the bombardnt.
This Sibi King didn’t seem all that smart.
The sa odd feeling rose simultaneously in all four of their minds.
Just as they’d sensed earlier,
the Sibi King’s body was indeed abnormally tough, brimming with presence and pressure. Even in an incomplete state, he could take a Dragon Breaker head-on as well as the four’s strongest attacks.
Even the Desolated Lion or Michael couldn’t manage that.
However,
the Sibi King’s intelligence fell far short of matching the strength of his body.
He was like a dazed, muddleheaded beast, fighting only on animal instinct—
punching, clawing, biting, charging.
With his physical toughness, these crude moves were practically on par with player skills. Any random hit could shatter a Spell and pop a shield.
An ordinary player would get injured from a graze and die from a direct hit.
But that was all.
Li Ang and the other three severed the Divine Power Connection on the Sibi King’s body, sotis closing in to draw his aggro, sotis fleeing far to retreat,
and just like kiting in an online ga, they precisely controlled their distance from him,
slowly whittling away at the Sibi King’s Energy bit by bit within the not-so-spacious area,
and even had enough bandwidth to guide and herd him so he wouldn’t charge into the other player camps, keeping him confined within a certain range.
Due to the Divine Power Connection being severed,
the Cave Puzzle Lock, which had already started weakening and degenerating, could no longer find a recipient,
and the Power of Faith within the Maze Lock evaporated upward, wasted just like that.
Very soon, the countless stone chambers that made up the Maze Lock faded and vanished, restoring the Ajanta Stone Cave to its original state.
Michael, who had been waiting outside the Stone Cave, arrived late.
Wielding the Sword of Flas and bearing four wings on his back, he arrived in an instant,
only to see the panicked player parties, the four Li Angs with strange expressions, and in the center, the beast-like corpse of the Sibi King.
"Roar! Roar!"
The Sibi King, caught firmly in place by the Divine Power Vines Li Ang created, Hoenhem’s Space Restraint Device, and Side Truth’s space anchors,
was trapped where he stood,
roaring in rage like a startled wild beast, sending out wave after wave of visible shockwaves that shattered the precious statues and murals within the Ajanta Stone Cave,
yet he still couldn’t break free of the restraints.
"..."
Everyone stared at the Sibi King raging in place, a strong sense of absurdity rising in their hearts.
It felt like playing a single-player ga where you slog through countless hardships, break through layer after layer of difficult stages, defeating boss after boss,
and finally reach the last level,
expecting a grand, epic final boss fight,
only to find, at the very end, a lazy monkey lounging on a swing eating a banana—
and then killing it with a casual basic attack.
