Now reading: Chapter 606 - 604: Heartless from Gasp! She's a Time Traveler Using Modern Tech to Improve Ancient Life, a Romance novel by Bamboo Lin.

Lin Wanwan has been truly busy recently because she is setting up a pig farm in Mozhu Village, and she has purchased nurous courses on pig farming.

Moreover, she has to read dical books without break every day, and occasionally learn weaving and farming. Ti is entirely insufficient. Even so, she is already using the ti difference between the two worlds!

Watching TV and movies is naturally optional for her. It can be a pasti during leisure, but it will never be her lifestyle norm.

After finishing two evening sessions of live-stread scientific pig farming theory classes, Lin Wanwan watched so farming videos for a while, then morized a bit of dical texts before setting her alarm and going to bed.

Tomorrow, she has to go to the family quarters in the West District of Ancient Capital University to formally apprentice. The old couple of Chinese dicine practitioners currently live there.

The apprentice ceremony gifts have long been prepared—a block of ink from the Great Tang, which Lin Wanwan had soone buy from the Chang’an City East Market Bookstore. Although it wasn’t the finest ink of the Great Tang (you can’t buy top-quality ink in an ordinary bookstore, they’d be reserved by others upon appearance), it was already considered rare.

Aside from this, Lin Wanwan also prepared the traditional Six Offerings for apprenticeship: dried at, celery, lotus seeds, red dates, longan, and red beans.

The tradition of passing down Chinese dicine has always followed ancient rites because to beco a doctor, one must learn hand in hand by copying and receiving guidance from a master. So, ancient rites cannot be abandoned.

Inheritors received at the traditional Chinese dicine apprenticeship ceremony organized by the Health Commission weigh differently than those privately accepted by old practitioners themselves.

Lin Wanwan is fortunate to be noticed by a famous doctor; it is her good luck.

At dawn the next day, Lin Wanwan got up imdiately when the alarm went off and donned exquisite Hanfu. She planned to make a simple hair bun, but the hairpin used to fix it was no simple matter—it was the kingfisher hairpin personally bestowed by Li Shimin.

Not to ntion its historical significance, the re perfect quality of a palace product is already extraordinary.

The craft on it, known as ’Dotting Kingfisher’, involves attaching kingfisher feathers to the gold hairpin. In modern society, due to bird protection, this craft has long beco extinct.

For this apprenticeship ceremony, Lin Wanwan made an exceptionally grand effort to dress up.

After dressing but not yet finishing her hair, the doorbell rang.

It was, needless to say, Lu Shouyue.

"Oh, is it already seven o’clock?" Lin Wanwan was surprised. Was she really that slow in dressing, washing, and doing her hair?

The alarm was set for six o’clock, yet an hour later she hadn’t finished. She recalled those days when she could put on light makeup as a part-ti etiquette staff in university within five minutes.

Admittedly, Lin Wanwan, spoiled by servants in the Great Tang, finds it slow now when she has to do things herself; it’s indeed hard to transition from extravagance to frugality.

Modern attire is better; it is much more convenient. Hair can be styled in a simple low ponytail or let loose, but wearing Tang-style Hanfu and doing classical hair buns takes more ti.

With half-done hair, Lin Wanwan went to the door to open it.

The door opened, and a half-dressed beauty, exuding a lingering air of laziness, suddenly entered the eyes.

Lu Shouyue froze montarily, unexpected to see such a beautiful scene, appearing calm but internally his throat tightened, and undesirably his heart pounded continuously—Lin Wanwan always easily stirred his heart.

"Sorry, Mr. Lu, I’m not yet done with my grooming. Please make yourself comfortable." Lin Wanwan opened the door and, focusing on herself again, returned to the vanity mirror to continue her grooming.

"Okay," Lu Shouyue responded softly, stepping into the room.

Today, he unusually did not bring a chef but simply brought two food boxes.

With soone waiting, Lin Wanwan’s speed improved significantly, barely regaining so of her student-year deanor, finishing her hair and light makeup in ten minutes.

Returning to the table and seeing the already set food boxes, Lin Wanwan casually remarked, "Mr. Lu, you’re quite extravagant. These food boxes could match my monthly reading expenses from my school days."

"Really? I wish I had t you earlier."

Then I could bring you delicious food daily, sparing you from hardship.

Lu Shouyue’s voice was unlike usual, prompting Lin Wanwan’s curious glance at him to find his face reddened.

This towering man, mysteriously flushed in the morning, unexpectedly appeared slightly cute.

Lin Wanwan imdiately looked down at herself. Nothing seed amiss. What’s going on?

Heading to the family quarters of Ancient Capital University’s West District, Lin Wanwan still rode in Lu Shouyue’s car; he was also heading there today.

During the casual chat in the car, Lin Wanwan offhandedly asked, "Mr. Lu, did you manage to handle affairs in Yongcheng within just four or five days this ti?"

Lu Shouyue’s complexion suddenly changed: "Wanwan, I’ve been away for eleven days this ti."

Lin Wanwan was startled; has it been that long?

Due to the ti difference between the two worlds, Lin Wanwan was sowhat bewildered daily, unable to confirm the date without looking at a calendar, unaware it had already been so many days.

Lu Shouyue’s heart instantly felt a cold chill; he felt as if he hadn’t seen her for three years despite just one day apart, willing to beco an airborne traveler just to stay by her side.

He flew privately more this year than in previous years combined, yet Lin Wanwan didn’t seem to care, even confusing the length of his absence.

For a mont, Lu Shouyue didn’t want to speak, feeling his genuine affection trampled upon, maintaining a cold handso face as he took Lin Wanwan to the entrance of the family quarters in the West District of Ancient Capital University without a word and left.

Even the bodyguard driving the car could sense Lu Shouyue’s displeasure, but Lin Wanwan, who just got off, was completely unaware, cheerfully saying goodbye and heading toward Mr. Liang’s house.

Her mind was entirely preoccupied with the apprenticeship matters now; everything else had to take a back seat.

At Mr. Liang’s house, besides the couple, there were two renowned physicians from the Chinese dicine world as witnesses, and two of Mr. Liang’s disciples in the Ancient Capital, one responsible for full video docuntation of the apprenticeship ceremony today.

All present wore Tang or Han costus harmoniously, full of traditional charm, a sure indication of a Chinese-style setting.

The Chinese dicine apprenticeship ceremony involves presenting tea first, then the apprenticeship docunt, and finally performing the kneeling to thank the master. The disciple hands over the "apprentice dues", and in return, the master gifts a copy of the "Inner Canon of Huangdi".

After the ceremony, Lin Wanwan recited a passage from "Great Doctor’s Sincerity" in front of the dicine Saint’s ancestral statue, declaring her determination to care for the people and offer dical aid to the world.

While in the Great Tang, Lin Wanwan belonged to the category of etiquette-deficient people, but in the modern era, dressed in traditional garb and reciting classical texts fluently, she was the very model of etiquette—like an etiquette instructor in a film.

Everyone present was satisfied with her performance, nodding secretly.

From now on, Lin Wanwan is also soone of origin in the modern world.

Not to ntion the three esteed veteran practitioners and professors, even the two newly minted middle-aged senior brothers standing by her are each directors within their respective departnts.

In the field of traditional Chinese dicine from now on, she can rightfully claim a prestigious lineage.

Considering this, not opening a Chinese dicine Hall would be unreasonable. She herself may not need to see patients daily, but at least can facilitate the exchange of dicinal materials between the two realms.
