"I’ll go get the car, you two wait for a mont," said Yang i as she headed towards the parking lot.
After Yang i left, Wu Xiaoyue sneakily walked over to Luo Fei and asked in a low voice, "Luo Fei, be honest, are you trying to pursue my sister Yang i?"
Luo Fei’s expression froze. He was completely unprepared for Wu Xiaoyue to be so direct, making him a bit awkward. He did want to pursue Yang i, but asking like this was too forward. Was Yang i having her ask?
Nevertheless, Luo Fei nodded affirmatively.
"I can tell you have good taste, and you’re pretty confident too, otherwise you wouldn’t dare to chase after Sister Yang i," Wu Xiaoyue said with a satisfied smile.
"Don’t worry, I support you. You have potential, and you and Sister Yang i are a good match. I’ll help you, but the premise is that you must be good to Sister Yang i," Wu Xiaoyue continued.
Then she looked over at the parking lot again and, seeing that Yang i hadn’t co out yet, added, "Let tell you so of Sister Yang i’s preferences. She likes reading detective novels, watching movies, and dislikes gaudy dressers, or guys who live sloppily. She’s detail-oriented, so if you want to win her over, you’d better pay attention to details. Details determine success or failure..." Wu Xiaoyue wanted to say more, but Yang i had already driven out.
Luo Fei originally planned to sit in the back, but Wu Xiaoyue quickly claid the back seat, saying she needed to lie down and rest.
With no other choice, Luo Fei sat in the front passenger seat next to Yang i.
"Let’s go to Yadi first! If it’s not good, we can check out Emma’s," Yang i suggested.
Luo Fei agreed wholeheartedly.
"About the last ti we went to the movies, I’m really sorry, I didn’t expect that kind of unexpected situation," Luo Fei said to Yang i beside him.
"That’s normal for us detectives. Whenever there’s a case, we have to rush to the scene imdiately. Like Sun Jun from your third group, he was back in his hotown for his wedding, but when he got the call about a murder, he went straight back to the police departnt without even getting married," Yang i replied nonchalantly with a smile.
"Next ti, I’ll treat you to a al," Luo Fei said.
"Luo Fei, I don’t care about anything else, but you have to take along for the al, or I won’t help you," Wu Xiaoyue, who had been quiet for a while, quickly chid in upon hearing about the al.
"Help with what? Do you guys have a secret or sothing?" Yang i asked, puzzled.
"No, I an I won’t help him bargain," Wu Xiaoyue quickly replied.
Before long, the three arrived at the Yadi electric scooter shop.
Luo Fei wanted to simply buy a scooter with decent price and performance and be done with it, since it’s just a scooter after all.
But Yang i and Wu Xiaoyue began to be picky. After looking around, they were not satisfied with anything. They found fault with each scooter Luo Fei wanted to buy—too expensive, didn’t like the color, or the design didn’t please them.
In short, they didn’t find a scooter that both looked good and was affordably priced at Yadi’s shop.
So the three of them went to Emma’s electric scooter store. There, they found a scooter that ticked all the right boxes. It was originally priced at 2800 RMB, but Wu Xiaoyue knocked it down to 2100 RMB. Her knack for bargaining was indeed impressive, she just kept talking non-stop and managed to cut 700 RMB off.
Unfortunately, just as they were about to pay, the girls suggested to shop around more, so off they went to Xiaoni.
Luo Fei was starting to regret asking about electric scooters in the first place. Shopping with girls really takes forever.
Thankfully, at Xiaoni, they finally found a scooter that all three were satisfied with. Originally priced at 3200 RMB, and after Wu Xiaoyue’s extre bargaining skills, they closed the deal at 2700 RMB.
Having bought the scooter, Luo Fei wanted to treat Yang i and Wu Xiaoyue to dinner as thanks for helping him. However, Yang i said her mom was back from the city, so she had to go ho for dinner, saying they’d find ti another day.
After buying the scooter, Luo Fei rode it straight ho, arriving a bit past seven.
Wu Yan and the others had already eaten. Luo Fei had initially planned to invite Yang i and Wu Xiaoyue for a al after buying the scooter, so when Wu Yan called earlier, he told her he wouldn’t be ho for dinner and that they should eat first.
"Mom, is there any leftovers?" Luo Fei asked as soon as he entered the house.
"You haven’t eaten yet? Silly child, didn’t you say you weren’t coming ho for dinner tonight? There was just a bit left, but I thought it might spoil and threw it all away," Wu Yan nagged.
"No worries, I’ll just order takeout. I was supposed to eat out today, but a colleague had sothing urgent co up, so I didn’t end up eating," Luo Fei explained.
"Order takeout? That stuff is overpriced and not hygienic. There are so leftover rice, I’ll make you so fried rice with eggs and cook a cabbage soup," Wu Yan said as she headed to the kitchen.
"By the way, Xiaofei, did you get paid today? How much was your salary this month?" Wu Yan asked again as she walked back in.
"14,400 RMB," Luo Fei answered, sitting next to Luo Xiaoxiao who was watching TV on the couch, glued to her cartoons all day.
"14,400 RMB! That’s 400 RMB more than last month. Didn’t you say last month’s extra was because you solved a case? Did you solve another case this ti?" Wu Yan asked, both shocked and curious.
"Sort of. Plus, since I got promoted to team leader, my base salary increased by 2,000 RMB, which is why my pay is higher this month," Luo Fei explained to Wu Yan.
"Oh right, you got promoted so your salary increased by 2,000 RMB a month. I didn’t think of that," Wu Yan chuckled, then advised, "Be sure to save your money, don’t spend it recklessly, and eventually buy a house."
Over the past year, Luo Fei’s maturity and steadiness had earned Wu Yan’s trust, so even the 90,000 RMB end-of-year bonus was left for Luo Fei to save.
"I know. By the way, Mom, I bought you an electric scooter; it’s outside. Let Luo Hao and Xiaoxiao help you practice riding it in the next couple of days, so you can ride it to work or go shopping," Luo Fei told Wu Yan.
"Spending money recklessly again. It only takes a few minutes to walk to work, is there a need to buy an electric scooter? Plus, I don’t know how to ride that thing either. You take it for your commute," Wu Yan said, unhappily.
Luo Fei laughed, "Mom, don’t worry. You can ride a bicycle, right? An electric scooter isn’t much different. Just let Luo Hao and Xiaoxiao accompany you for a couple of days, and you’ll get the hang of it."
"Brother, you bought a scooter? Let see," Luo Xiaoxiao shot up off the couch upon hearing about the scooter, her slippers clattering as she ran outside.
A short while later, Luo Xiaoxiao rushed back in.
"Mom, brother really bought a pink scooter, and it’s brand new. It looks so nice," Luo Xiaoxiao exclaid excitedly.
"Honestly, you! You still walk to work yourself, and you buy a scooter," Wu Yan still grumbled.
"Mom, I mainly run to work in the morning to exercise. You know we detectives have high physical fitness requirents," Luo Fei explained.
"Alright, alright, I’ll see if I can learn to ride it. If not, you can use it, or just return it," Wu Yan said as she moved into the kitchen to cook.
Soon enough, Wu Yan made a delicious serving of fried rice with eggs and a small cabbage soup.
"Xiaoxiao, school is starting soon, have you finished your howork?" Luo Fei, eating, asked Luo Xiaoxiao, who was watching cartoons.
"I finished my winter howork ages ago, and I even reviewed so math for the next sester today!" Luo Xiaoxiao smugly replied.
"Xiaoxiao, where’s Luo Hao? It’s late and he’s not ho yet, where did he go?" Luo Fei asked.
"Luo Hao went to play basketball," Luo Xiaoxiao responded.
